Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1058: Appearances

"What's... going on here?"

Killers looked confused.

Hector put down his glass and said, "Go over and take a look."

As soon as the two men approached, they heard the butler beside Bergerian say, "My lady wants to test my husband's true heart today and would like to ask you all to witness this moment together as witnesses." Killers brow furrowed, "What is this for?"

She turned her head to look at Hector.

Hector didn't say a word, his eyes falling straight on Bergerian, who was not far away.

Through the mask, Bergerian's displeasure could still be felt.

His wife had given him such a problem in public, and if he had found the right person, it would have been fine, but if he had found the wrong one, he would have been disgraced.

Twenty women stood neatly in two rows, all of similar shape, and if they were not familiar enough, they would not be able to tell who was the real Lisa.

"Sir, please." The butler gestured for Bergerian to choose someone.

Bergerian stood motionless, his eyes staring grimly at one of the women.

Even though he loathed his wife, he could still recognise which one she was at a glance.

When he did not move, the butler repeated, "Sir, please!"

And the guests began to rise.

"Mr Bergerian, you must replace out which one is your wife."

"Mrs. Lisa is funny to come up with such a show of affection for her own birthday party."

...

Everyone laughed, and for a moment the atmosphere was quite lively.

At this point, Bergerian moved, deliberately walking up to Lisa and stopping, looking around and pretending to be in a difficult position.

Lisa's heart leapt when he came towards her.

He recognised her.

But when she saw the look of embarrassment on his face, her heart dropped to the bottom again, and the hands that had fallen to her side clenched quietly.

A strange light crossed her eyes and Bergerian suddenly reached out and pulled the woman beside Lisa to him, saying in a loud voice, "This is my wife, Lisa."

Before the butler could confirm, the real Lisa pulled off her mask and shouted at Bergerian in a fury, "Bergerian, you did that on purpose!"

There was an uproar and murmurs from the crowd.

None of them seemed to have expected Bergerian to mistake his wife for him.

On the contrary, Bergerian calmly let go of his hand and the corners of his mouth curled up, "I'm sorry, I've mistaken him for someone else."

"Bergerian!" said Lisa, glaring at him in exasperation.

He had clearly recognised her, yet he had deliberately pulled someone else out, for no other reason than to embarrass her.

"Darling, it's your birthday, don't be angry."

In front of the outsiders, Bergerian still put on the appearance of a very loving wife, stepping forward to put his arm around her shoulders and coaxing in a low voice. "You did that on purpose."

Lisa turned her face away, not wanting to pay attention to him.

"It wouldn't be any fun if I picked you all at once, would it?" Bergerian looked around at the people and continued, "It's what I do that makes it watchable, isn't it?" "But I have no face."

Lisa was still angry when she thought about it, "No, you have to say in front of all the people that you actually recognised me at first sight."

"Stop it, there's a limit to my patience." Bergerian lowered his voice and warned in her ear, a doting smile still on his face.

Anyone watching would have thought he was saying something sweet to Lisa.

Lisa knew in her heart that he had always been unsavoury with himself and if she pissed him off, she might not see him again for days.

Finally, she relented and guffawed, "I've made everyone laugh, I was just messing around with Bergerian."

"You couples are in such a mood, I envy your relationship."

The guests expressed their envy, only Killers snorted disdainfully, "What a loving couple you are pretending to be when you obviously look like one." Hector gave her a sidelong glance and reminded her, "Watch out if anyone hears you."

Killers bristled, "Honestly, if you and your wife were in love, no one would dare to call you number two."

It was a comment that went down well with Hector.

He and Eloise had been through so much together, and the bond between them was unmatched by anyone else.

Once this farce was over, Bergerian took his wife around to the various guests.

They arrived in front of Hector and the Killers.

"Thank you for coming to my wife's birthday party." Bergerian raised his glass.

Hector clinked it, tilted his head and took a sip, pretending not to notice, "Mr Bergerian, how is your pharmaceutical company doing?"

Bergerian raised an eyebrow, "Since when is the André family interested in medicine?"

"If you want to make money, then you have to try everything in the industry, don't you?" Hector asked rhetorically.

"That's true." Bergerian nodded, "I'm running my pharmaceutical company just fine, so if you're interested you could come and sit in the office sometime." "Good." Hector agreed without saying a word.

The corners of Killers mouth twitched, it wasn't like he was going to be there and he agreed so quickly.

"Are you his girlfriend or wife?" Lisa asked softly as she walked up to her.

"I...."

"Killers said, momentarily unsure of how to answer.

Lisa frowned slightly, "Neither?"

Killers pursed her lips and smiled, "I'm his partner."

"Oh. I thought you were a couple or a couple."

Lisa looked at her and then at Hector and said, "You guys look good together."

"Do you?" Killers barely tugged at the corner of her mouth, where did she and Hector fit together?

They didn't match at all, and only Eloise could stand a man like Hector who was as good as an iceberg.

"I love my husband very much." Lisa suddenly said.

Killers was even more embarrassed and she laughed dryly, "I can see that."

"He loves me too." Lisa added, "Don't look at him like he's aloof, but he's actually very nice to me in private and loves me very much." "So." Killers smiled perfunctorily.

She was not at all interested in their relationship status, and anyone with eyes could see that the couple was not well at all.

While Killers dealt with Lisa perfunctorily on one side, Hector and Bergerian chatted away about inconsequential matters.

Hector looked down at the wine in his hand as he listened to Bergerian talk about the recent situation in the pharmaceutical market.

"If you want to enter the pharmaceutical market as well, you have to think carefully, without new drugs, you are unable to take a place in the market." Hector's eyes flickered and he spoke lightly, "What you mean by that is that you have a new drug, don't you?"

Bergerian smiled, "There is definitely a new drug, and it's one that only my company can research."

"That impressive?" Hector shook the glass in his hand, the corners of his mouth curling slightly, "I wonder what your medicine is for?"

"That would be impossible to say." Bergerian clinked his glass and smiled, "It's a company secret, I hope you understand." Hector nodded, "Well, understood."
