Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1060: Experimental Drugs

Hector, who was far away in Italy, awoke abruptly from his dream and stared at the ceiling with a frightened expression, breathing a little sharply. He had dreamt that the Eloise virus had struck.

The dream was so real, so real that his whole heart churned.

He sat up from the bed, raised a hand to his forehead and closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down.

But somehow, it just wouldn't calm down.

His heart was panicking, as if something was really happening.

He grabbed his mobile phone from the bedside table, found Eloise's number and dialled it.

It rang for a long time, but there was no answer.

He dialed several more times, but the same result, no answer.

A bad feeling came over him and he called Brimlad.

As soon as he got through, Brimlad's urgent voice came through, "Hector, Eloise has fainted again."

Hector's face turned pale and he hung up the phone and quickly got out of bed to change his clothes.

As he did so, he contacted Ramm, "Book me a flight back home, the sooner the better."

"What's wrong?" Ramm was puzzled.

Hadn't the prince come to Italy this time for the medicine? He hadn't even got the medicine yet, so why did he have to go back home? "Eloise has fainted again."

When Ramm heard that, his heart was shocked, and he couldn't care to ask any more questions, he hurriedly said, "I'll book a ticket right away."

...

The Khan family was in chaos, Edgar was still sleeping because of his fever and Eloise was still unconscious from her fainting spell.

The doctor examined her and looked a little stony, "I'm sorry, I can't check what's wrong with her at the moment, if you can, please take her to the hospital for a more thorough examination." It occurred to Brimlad that Eloise had fainted before, but Hector hadn't taken anyone to hospital.

So she didn't dare rush the person to the hospital.

"Thanks doctor, maybe she'll wake up later, the hospital is out for now."

"If the person never wakes up, you'd better take her to the hospital."

Brimlad nodded, "We know."

She glanced sideways at the butler behind her, "Send the doctor downstairs."

"Yes."

After the butler had escorted the doctor out, Brimlad walked over to the bed and sat down, his worried gaze locked on Eloise's slightly pale face, a sigh escaping his lips. "Why are you such an unsettling child?"

Just then, Edgar rushed in.

He saw Eloise lying on the bed and his brow furrowed, "Mum, why has Eloise fainted again?"

He had woken up and was thirsty so he went downstairs to get a drink of water and happened to meet the housekeeper.

The housekeeper told him that Eloise had fainted and he turned and ran upstairs without bothering to drink.

"It's not because of you." Brimlad sighed, "You had a high fever and Eloise was probably so worried about you that her body couldn't take it all at once and she fainted."

At that, Edgar instantly blamed himself, "It's all my fault, I should have listened to Eloise then and had the doctor come and take a look."

He looked at Eloise on the bed and asked, "What did the doctor say?"

"The doctor said that if she never woke up, it would be best to take her to hospital."

At that, Brimlad couldn't help but tighten his brow, "I'm worried it won't wake up that easily either. Hector just called me, I told him about it and he's already rushed back."

"No." Edgar shook his head, "We can't just leave Eloise unconscious like this, if anything goes wrong, we won't be able to explain it to Hector."

"Then what?" Brimlad asked.

Edgar thought hard and suddenly a figure flashed through his mind and his eyes lit up abruptly, "Earlene."

Brimlad frowned, "Earlene? What's wrong with Earlene?"

"Earlene studied medicine too, I think she might have something that will wake Eloise up."

Edgar turned and ran out of the room, he went back to his room, found his phone and called Earlene.

It soon picked up on the other end, "Edgar."

"Earlene, are you free now?"

"What's wrong?"

"Eloise has fainted and I want you to come and see."

Eloise had fainted?!

Earlene was surprised to learn this news, she thought about it and responded, "I have time, I'll come over now."

Edgar was instantly relieved, "Thank you, Earlene."

"You're welcome, Eloise is a friend of mine too. I'll see you later."

Earlene hung up the phone, her eyes narrowed slightly as she stared at the little white mouse moving around on the lab bench, just as she had hit a bottleneck in her experiment, perhaps this time she could get useful information out of Eloise. Edgar went downstairs and waited anxiously for Earlene to arrive.

After about half an hour or so, Earlene finally arrived.

"I'm sorry I'm late."

Earlene walked up to Edgar in a hurry.

Edgar took her wrist straight away, "Hurry up, Eloise is upstairs."

Earlene was pulled by Edgar and ran upstairs.

Walking into the room, Earlene caught a glimpse of Eloise lying on the bed and her heart couldn't help but start to perk up. "Earlene, you're here." Brimlad stood up, as excited to see Earlene as if she had seen a lifeline, and rushed up to grab Earlene's hands. "Auntie, don't worry, Eloise will be fine." She reassured Brimlad gently, then drew back her own hand and moved towards Eloise.

She reached down and rolled Eloise's eyelids open and looked closely, "It looks like she's asleep."

Then she put down the case she was carrying and opened it, pulling a stethoscope from it and putting it on, listening to Eloise's heartbeat.

"Heartbeat's normal too."

Brimlad watched from the sidelines and whispered, "Actually the doctor did check and everything is normal, but the person just won't wake up no matter how much they scream."

Earlene turned her head to look at her and thought for a moment, "It must have something to do with the virus in her body."

"Yes, it does have something to do with the virus." Edgar came over, "That's why I asked you to come over."

"Last time you fainted, do you know how Eloise woke up?" Earlene asked.

"Woke up on her own, if I remember correctly."

Earlene frowned, "Didn't do anything and woke up on her own?"

Edgar nodded, "Well, that's right. This is the third time she's fainted."

"What are you talking about, why can't I understand? What virus?" Brimlad looked at them both with a bewildered expression.

"Mum, let's leave it to Earlene here, let's get out."

Edgar pulled Brimlad out, leaving the room to Earlene.

Seeing them all out, Earlene moved her eyes to Eloise's face and raised an eyebrow, "Eloise, don't blame me, blame the virus in your body."

She said as she pulled a syringe out of the case.

The syringe contained a drug she had researched over the past two days to combat the virus.

There was no way she could test the drug to see if it worked or didn't work, because the virus had struck quickly in the mice, causing them to die quickly. This was the perfect opportunity to test it on Eloise's body.

She inserted the needle of the syringe into a blood vessel in Eloise's arm and slowly pushed the drug in.

When the syringe was empty, she pulled it out and put it in a bag and threw it in the box.
