Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1069: He's gambling

Professor Curry's words made Rowson uncomfortable inside.

He laughed lightly, "Professor Curry can be very cautious, I should learn from you."

Anyone who was human could have heard the sarcasm laced in his words.

But Professor Curry was not amused, "You have a lot to learn."

Following this, he said to Bergerian, "I have things to do, so I'll be heading back to the lab."

Bergerian nodded, "Go ahead."

When Professor Curry left, Bergerian looked at Rowson and saw the resignation on his face and raised an eyebrow, "Fu, you don't have to pay too much attention to what Curry says, he always does." "I don't care." Rowson tugged at the corner of his mouth.

Bergerian smiled, "The look on your face tells me you care enough."

"What I care about is not being trusted."

Rowson looked at him steadily.

"Don't I trust you?" Bergerian asked him in return.

"You do trust me, but Professor Curry doesn't. I've been here so long, and he's still defensive."

At that, Rowson's face turned hard.

"Since I'm not trusted, either I quit. mr Bergerian, what do you think?"

"Are you mad?" Katerina tugged at his sleeve and lowered her voice to whisper in his ear, "You're threatening Mr Bergerian, you know that?"

Rowson suddenly laughed, "Yes, Catherine is right, I am threatening Mr Bergerian."

He locked eyes with Bergerian without fear.

Bergerian's face was expressionless, and for a moment it was impossible to tell whether he was happy or not.

But one could feel the atmosphere becoming tense.

Katerina was afraid that Bergerian would get angry and that Rowson would be in trouble.

So she said cautiously, "Mr Bergerian, Rowson only said that in the heat of the moment, don't take it personally."

"I didn't say that in the heat of the moment, and I meant it."

Katerina almost fainted from Rowson's anger and she scolded, "Shut up!"

But Rowson ignored her completely and said, "If there's no way to satisfy my need for research here, then I'd rather quit than waste my abilities."

"Rowson, please, stop saying that, will you? Mr Bergerian believes in your expertise, why else would he have let you join in?" There was an unconscious hint of pleading in Katerina's voice. She was really afraid that Bergerian wouldn't make it easy for him in a fit of anger.

"You really think so?" Bergerian finally did speak, but there was still not a hint of expression on his face.

"Yes." Rowson nodded.

He was gambling.

Betting on whether Bergerian really thought highly of himself.

Bergerian nodded, "It seems you are really keen to join Professor Curry's research, but unfortunately, it is not up to me."

"Why?" Rowson asked.

"Professor Curry has his own ideas, and I can't sway him. But you can try to gain his trust rather than just give up."

Katerina looked at Bergerian incredulously, that's not like something he would say!

"I'm sure you can do it." Bergerian patted Rowson's shoulder.

Rowson was smart enough to know when to stop, he closed his eyes and nodded, "Okay, I know what to do."

Bergerian smiled, "That's right, that's the Rowson I know."

He looked to Katerina, "Katerina, help him out more, okay?"

"Yes." Katerina responded respectfully.

"Nothing else, I'm off."

Bergerian looked at them and turned around.

The moment he turned around, his face sank.

He would never have left Rowson behind if Professor Curry hadn't had to conduct experiments on living people in the back and needed someone to help.

It was obvious that Rowson's bit of mind was to replace out the progress of Professor Curry's research.

A man like that should never be let go, or he would be a hidden danger.

It was best to keep him around and use him for himself.

Katerina stood by the window and watched Bergerian's car drive away before she walked back to Rowson and said angrily, "Do you know what you are doing? If Mr Bergerian gets angry, your life could be in danger." Rowson was silent.

Katerina felt her anger rise to the surface and she took a deep breath, "Rowson, how far are you going to go for that Eloise, are you going to risk your life for her?"

"Yes!" Rowson turned his head and stared straight at her, "My life doesn't matter at all as long as I can save her."

"You!" Katerina was so angry she couldn't speak.

At the same time, she was jealous of that Eloise.

"Good." Katerina closed her eyes and held her breath, then swung them open and resumed her usual indifference, "Count me as meddling today, and I won't bother with you in the future."

With that, she lifted her steps and was about to leave.

"Wait." Rowson grabbed her wrist.

Was he trying to apologise?

Katerina pretended to be aloof and turned her head, her tone just as cold, "Something wrong?"

"Do me a favour." Rowson said.

He wasn't asking for an apology, he was asking for her help?!

Katerina sneered as she shook off his hand with a force, "Rowson, where do you get the nerve to ask me to help you?"

"For the last time."

Katerina took a deep breath, suppressing the anger that had come up again, and flatly refused, "No, I won't help you even once." With that, she marched off without a backward glance.

Rowson didn't go after her, but turned his head towards the closed lab, his eyes narrowed.

He wasn't going to just give up.

...

"Prince, Bergerian went to the Institute today."

As soon as Ramm got the news, he rushed to the hotel to report to Hector.

"Went to the Institute?" Hector frowned.

"Yes."

Hector thought for a moment, "Have you seen Professor Curry?"

"Still nothing."

Hector thought thoughtfully for a moment, "Get me in touch with Rowson."

"Okay."

Ramm found Rowson's number and dialed it.

It was soon answered, "Hello, this is Rowson."

"Mr. Rowson, what time do you want your pizza?" Ramm asked.

There was a short silence.

"Mr. Rowson?" said Ramm, frowning.

"No, you don't have to send it over. I'll call you when I want some."

Hearing this, Ramm hastened to tell Hector wordlessly that the other man didn't want the pizza.

Hector's face became stony for a moment.

"Okay, bye."

After hanging up the phone, Ramm was a little anxious, "Prince, there's no progress with Mr. Rowson either, do we have to think of something else again?" "How are they doing with Almeida?" Hector asked instead of answering.

"They are still working on it, we don't know exactly when we will have results yet."

Hector nodded, "Fine then, let's think of something else, we can't wait any longer."
