Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1076: Then she might be disappointed
Seeing Edgar come out, Eloise asked suspiciously, "What took you so long?"
"Nothing." Edgar smiled and looked to his mother Brimlad, "Mum, I'll take you back."
"No need, I've called the driver to come over. You take your Aunt Acca and the girls back."
Brimlad pushed him over to Elva, the boy and the girl were smiling at her.
Eloise shot Edgar a look that said, "He's going to have a lot of trouble once his sister-in-law decides on someone.
Edgar didn't push back and smiled at Acca, "Auntie Acca, come on, I'll give you a lift home."
Acca smiled and nodded, "Yes, yes."
"Acca, bring Elva to my house sometime." Brimlad grabbed her hand and stressed this over and over again. "Yes, definitely go."
With Edgar as her future son-in-law, Acca would make time to visit the Khan family even if she didn't have time.
Watching Edgar and the others leave, Eloise walked over to Brimlad, "Auntie, do you like Elva that much?"
"Yeah, why?" Brimlad turned his head to look at her.
Eloise laughed dryly, "Nothing, I just thought you should take it easy and not get your hopes up too much before you're disappointed later."
Brimlad frowned, "What are you talking about, why don't you say something nice? You have to throw cold water on me."
"Auntie, I'm not throwing cold water on you, I don't think my cousin would like Elva."
It seemed to her that Edgar was more interested in the waitress, otherwise he wouldn't have asked if people remembered him.
Of course she wasn't going to tell Brimlad this, lest she give Edgar more trouble when the time came.
Brimlad didn't like that, "Your cousin said at the time that Earlene didn't like him, so I let it go. I'm not going to let it go this time, feelings can be nurtured and I'm sure Edgar will like Elva." Brimlad was quite confident because she felt that Elva was so quiet and that Edgar would like her.
Eloise had to nod, "I hope so."
"Can you give me any confidence, you child?" Brimlad feigned a disgruntled glare at her.
"Fine, fine, I'll give you confidence, is that okay?" Eloise put her arm around her affectionately.
Brimlad lost his smile, "You child."
Eloise smiled and looked back into the dining room, looking through the floor to ceiling windows just in time to see the girl talking to a customer.
The smile on her lips slowly narrowed and she gazed a little thoughtfully.
"What are you looking at?" Brimlad noticed her looking into the restaurant and followed her line of sight, her eyes widening a few notches, "Huh, why is she here?"
She recognised the girl, the one who was going to buy that dress.
"She works here." Eloise said.
Brimlad looked over and frowned, "Why would she think of buying such an expensive dress if she's just a waitress? Girls these days are really a bit vain."
Hearing Brimlad's comment about the girl, Eloise didn't quite agree with it, but didn't say anything.
After all, she didn't know that girl yet either.
...
Eloise returned home and, knowing that Edgar was already in his study, knocked on the door and entered.
"How was it, cousin, do you like that Elva?" She asked bluntly.
Edgar glanced up at her, "Did my mother tell you to ask?"
"Not at all." Eloise flipped casually through the books on her desk and said, somewhat carelessly, "I was just curious. It feels like my brother-in-law really likes Elva and is keen to set you two up." "Then she might be disappointed."
Eloise was intrigued when she heard that, she came forward, winked and inquired tentatively, "You actually already have a crush on someone, don't you?"
Edgar froze, "Since when do I have a crush, you mean Earlene?"
"Pretend! You keep pretending." Eloise smiled a particularly ambiguous smile, as if she had read his mind.
Edgar laughed, "What am I pretending to be? Who else do I like besides Earlene?"
"That's the waitress."
He wouldn't admit it openly, so she just cut to the chase.
"The waiter?" Edgar laughed helplessly as if he'd heard a joke, "What makes you think I like her?"
"Because you asked if they remembered you."
Edgar was even more incomprehensible, "Just because of that?"
"When have you ever been so attached to a girl? Except for Earlene."
Edgar shook his head and laughed, "You think too much. I was just asking that, not liking her."
"Fine." Eloise couldn't help but be a little disappointed, "I thought that girl would be your type."
"The type I would like?" Edgar wondered.
Eloise nodded, "Well, because she's a bit like Earlene."
Edgar frowned, "You don't think I'm just into Earlene's type do you?"
"No?"
"Of course not. As long as I like what I see."
He'd always been very particular about his eyes, which was why he'd fallen in love with Earlene so easily in the first place.
"And does she suit you?" Eloise asked tentatively.
"Well..." Edgar thought hard, "It seems okay."
"How about compared to Elva?"
"I still like her a bit more then."
He really couldn't like Elva, for all the condescending posture she had towards the waiters in the restaurant, it really wasn't pleasant.
"Me too." Eloise shrugged, "But my brother-in-law really likes Elva, you'll have your work cut out for you later."
"I'll talk to my mum about it. I don't want a girlfriend just yet, I just want to manage the company."
Edgar had thought hard about what he really wanted once he had decided to give up his feelings for Earlene.
That was to run the Khan Group well and not let Grandpa down before he woke up.
"Is this the aftermath of your breakup?" Eloise asked with a laugh.
"You're overthinking it." Edgar smiled, "I just have a better idea of what I need to do at this stage."
Eloise nodded, "That's good too. Let's hope you can convince your brother-in-law, although I have a feeling there's little hope."
"I haven't even gone and said that here, and you're giving me a demoralizing speech."
She shrugged, "I'm an honest man and will only tell the truth."
That amused Edgar, "So can you, an honest man, tell me what I should do to have more hope?"
"Let me think about that." Eloise really thought hard about it and after a moment her eyes lit up, "Then tell your brother-in-law that you have a crush on someone." "Apart from that?" Edgar asked.
"No more." Eloise shook her head.
Edgar laughed helplessly, "Forget it then, I'll figure it out myself."
