Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1078: Not knowing what to do
"If you've already thought about it, why did you come to me?" Rowson asked.
Hector pondered for a moment, "I want a diagram of the structure of the Institute, and the security situation." "You want me to draw down the internal structure of the Institute for you?"
"That's right." Hector nodded, "I don't do things I'm not sure of."
Rowson curled his lips, "And how do you know I'm willing to draw it for you?"
"Because of Eloise."
Hector looked at him with certainty and rejoined, "But if you have a hard time, you don't have to force it."
Rowson laughed out softly, his smile a little bitter, "Eloise ..."
He closed his eyes, as if he was considering.
Hector was in no hurry and waited quietly.
It was only after a long time that Rowson slowly opened his eyes, and his eyes were quiet, "Okay, I'll draw. But give me time to feel out every nook and cranny of the Institute." "Yes, but not too long, I can't wait, and neither can Eloise."
At that, Rowson looked at Hector with amusement, "Mr Hector sir, I don't work for you, and besides, I'm more anxious to save Eloise than you are, so don't worry, it won't take long." Hector stared at him for a moment before averting his eyes, "Contact me when you're done with the drawing."
With those words, he turned and strode away.
Rowson stood in place and watched him leave, not even withdrawing his gaze as the door was closed.
The hands that fell to his side clenched slowly, his eyes unusually determined, no matter what, this time it must succeed.
...
Ever since she last saw Hector having breakfast with another woman in the restaurant, Earlene had been staying in her hotel room, even taking care of her three meals in her room. She hadn't been able to replace a reason to see Hector.
He already knew she was in Italy, and that the woman would come over that day to teach herself a lesson, surely with his tacit approval.
In other words, he hated her, much less wanted to see her.
The thought of it made Earlene feel a pang of irritation.
No.
She had come to Italy for him, and she couldn't hide in her room like this every day.
So she got up and went to the bathroom, put on her make-up and changed into a beautiful dress.
She looked at herself in the mirror with satisfaction and raised her chin with confidence.
She was sure that Hector would look at herself too.
Although she hadn't left her room in the past few days, she had had someone investigate Hector's various schedules and knew that he usually went downstairs to the hotel restaurant for dinner in the evening. So, she took the lift straight to the restaurant on the third floor of the hotel.
As soon as she walked in, she caught a glimpse of Hector sitting by the window with his back to her.
"Mr Hector, what a coincidence."
Hector was talking on the phone when a female voice suddenly rang in his ears, causing his brow to furrow and his eyes to lift, only to see Earlene pulling the chair directly opposite him and sitting down, looking at herself with a smile Brimlad. "For now."
Hanging up the phone, Hector's warm-hearted gaze went to Earlene and his thin lips parted, "Miss Earlene, I like a guy, please change seats."
The smile on Earlene's face froze for a moment, but she quickly recovered, "It's fate to meet someone you know in a foreign country. I don't think Mr Hector is so petty as to even let me sit here."
"I've always been cheap." Hector said lightly.
Earlene laughed, a little awkwardly, "I didn't realise Mr Hector was so funny."
"Please change your seat." Hector repeated once more, not giving her any face at all.
Now Earlene couldn't stop laughing. She stared at him with a deadly stare, her face covered in makeup and resignation.
"What if I don't change?" She didn't like him.
Hector smiled lightly, his eyes cold, and looked askance at him, "You don't want to change?"
"I won't!" Earlene looked determined that she was going to sit here.
"Fine."
Hector got up, walked to a seat not far away, beckoned the waiter to come and reordered his meal.
Earlene looked at his unfinished meal and burst out laughing.
How much did this man hate her that he wouldn't even sit at the same table with her.
He didn't think she would give up just because of that, did he?
Earlene looked over at Hector, her eyes narrowing with determination. She was going to sit with him.
She got up and walked over to him and sat across from him again.
Hector looked up and met her provocative gaze.
He understood her at once.
"Miss Earlene, don't make me say it again if you have, and I hope you'll behave yourself." Hector looked at her with a sullen face.
Earlene maintained an appropriate smile at the corner of her mouth and spoke slowly, "Mr Hector, even if you don't like me anymore, you don't have to be so obvious. I don't think it's too much to ask that we have dinner together as partners, do you?"
"Not too much."
Earlene looked pleased at his answer and was about to say something when she heard him continue, "But I like someone."
Earlene laughed, "Then you can pretend I don't exist."
She had humbled herself to such an extent that he couldn't still not give her any face.
"Are you human?" What little patience Hector had left ran out.
Someone who didn't know how to back down like that didn't need him to save face anymore.
"Hmm?" Earlene didn't get his meaning for a moment.
"If you're not human, I can pretend you don't exist."
His venomous words angered Earlene, so angry that she stood up and glared at him angrily, "Hector, don't go too far."
Hector smiled coldly with a sneer on his lips and a sneer in his eyes.
A man who had gone to such lengths to seduce her friend's husband, and yet he told him not to go too far?
Earlene's anger grew as she thought about it. She had put her heart in front of him, not for him to trample on it like this.
For the first time in her twenty years of life, Earlene felt humiliated. She clenched her fists and said with hatred, "Hector, you'll have to beg me later!"
With those words, she left in a huff.
Hector didn't take it to heart, he just saw it as a minor hiccup and he could finally eat in peace and quiet.
Returning to her room in a huff, Earlene flung her bag hard onto the sofa and crossed her arms, her chest heaving violently from the sheer anger. "This is too much, this is really too much!"
She took a few deep breaths before suppressing the anger that was churning in her chest.
A wave of loss surged through her emotions as she looked down at the dress on her body.
It was a shame she had dressed up so beautifully, he couldn't even see it.
After the anger, there was more loss and hard feelings.
Dropping onto the sofa, she leaned her head back against it, a self-deprecating smile curling the corners of her mouth.
What was wrong with her that she was not as good as that Eloise, why couldn't he look at her more?
After a moment, she suddenly sat up straighter, her eyes clouded with gloom.
No, she couldn't just give up.
She had to get Hector to come himself.
Finding her phone, she dialed a number.
When the other side picked up, her mouth curved up, "Hello, Mr Pierce."
