Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1083: Eloise in danger
Rowson had basically drawn up the structural plan of the Institute, but there were a few details that he didn't remember clearly.
On this day, he took advantage of his break to walk around the Institute again.
"Professor Curry is ready to start the live experiments."
As he walked to the corner where the researchers usually smoked, he suddenly heard these words.
With a subconscious lurch in his steps, he probed to see that it was two of Professor Curry's assistants chatting.
In vivo experiments?
He frowned and quickly ducked behind a nearby potted plant.
"I don't actually want to do a live experiment, it's too cruel."
"Professor Curry won't let you off the hook if you don't do it."
"Hey, I should have known better than to be his assistant, netting some cruel experiments. You know, Mr Bergerian has promised he'll bring someone in." "Get who?"
"I heard it's someone who's infected with the virus but is still alive and well. What kind of person infected with a virus and still alive, do you think?" Rowson heard this and Eloise's face immediately flashed through his mind.
His face swished white, could it be that the person Professor Curry was after was Eloise?
Thinking this, he was in no mood to listen any further and turned around to leave.
As he walked out of the institute, he took out his mobile phone and sent the drawing to Hector and sent a text message: Eloise was in danger.
No sooner had he sent the text than he saw Bergerian walking up to him.
Rowson hurriedly deleted the message, shoved his hand in his trouser pocket and pretended nothing had happened, waited for Bergerian to approach and bowed his head respectfully, "Mr Bergerian." Bergerian stopped in front of him and inclined his head sideways at him, "Fu, you're going out?"
"Something came up." Rowson answered truthfully.
Bergerian nodded and gave a wink to his men, "You will follow Mr. Rowson for the next few days and help him out if he needs anything, okay?"
"Yes." Several of his men answered in unison.
"Mr Bergerian, I don't need any help." Rowson refused him without changing his face.
"Fu, do you think I'm really going to do you a favour by sending someone to follow you?" Bergerian stared at him with a smirk.
Rowson didn't make a sound, the hand in his trouser pocket clenching subconsciously.
"Curry has very important experiments to do next, and I don't want any surprises. You do understand what I mean, don't you?" Bergerian gave a meaningful smile.
"Understood." Rowson nodded.
He wanted nothing more than to spy on himself, lest he badger Eloise when he got him.
"Good to understand."
Bergerian said nothing more, striding inside.
Rowson turned his head and watched his figure disappear around the corner before he withdrew his eyes and swept them over the few Bergerian men, his eyes narrowing slightly; what he wanted to do next would be even more difficult.
...
Hector received the message and saw the words "Eloise in danger" and his eyes narrowed.
He called Rowson's number, but there was no answer.
A bad feeling came over him.
At that moment, Ramm hurried in, "Prince, Bergerian has sent someone to the country."
This news, coupled with the message from Rowson, confirmed that Hector's suspicions were correct.
When he had learned that Curry had worked out the drug, it had occurred to him that the other side might want to use it for live experiments so that they could replace out if it really worked against the virus.
And that living body, ideally, would be someone who had already been infected with the virus.
The only person in the world who had been infected with the virus and was still alive was Eloise.
So, Eloise became their first target.
"I have to go back to my country."
Ramm immediately said, "I'll book your ticket right away."
Just as Ramm turned to go out, Hector called out to him, "Wait, don't book the tickets yet." Ramm threw him a puzzled look.
"Let's act now and destroy their institute, their purpose will be defeated just the same."
Hector didn't want to drag this out any longer than necessary before the night was too long.
"But... would that be too risky?" Ramm was a little worried.
"It has to be done even if it's risky."
This time, Hector was very insistent.
Because he knew that if he hesitated any longer, Eloise would be in danger.
Ramm could only nod, "Fine then, I'll inform down immediately."
Hector's handsome face was tense and his eyes were as deep as a pond, making it impossible to read his mind at the moment.
No matter what, he had to succeed.
...
It was late at night when the Institute was broken into.
More than the break-in, a gunshot pierced the silent night sky. There was a fierce gun battle between the two sides, with gunfire erupting.
With the help of Killers, Bergerian's men were defenceless and simply abandoned the Institute.
Professor Curry and a few of his students fled with his research.
"Prince, nothing was found."
After searching the entire institute, Ramm ran up to Hector and shook his head with a grimace.
Hector looked around the wrecked institute, the hands that had fallen to his side slowly clenching and lunging again.
"I told you guys it was too risky to do that." Killers approached, "Bergerian is a cunning man, he must have sensed something was wrong or he couldn't have withdrawn so quickly." Ramm's brow furrowed at this, "Could there be a mole?"
Killers raised an eyebrow, "It's possible."
"Damn it!" Ramm cursed under his breath and hated it, "Who the hell would dare betray us?"
"Maybe it's not one of us, but..."
Killers didn't finish her sentence, but both Hector and Ramm understood what she meant.
"You mean Rowson?" asked Ramm uncertainly.
Killers gave a noncommittal shrug.
"It can't be him." Hector said in a hushed voice.
"If it's not him, then who could it be?" Killers asked.
It seemed to her that the other side must have been prepared and most likely waiting for them for a long time, if they were able to withdraw so quickly.
And for the other side to have done this, someone had definitely been told in advance.
"Not Rowson, anyway."
He had called Rowson today and no one had picked up either way.
It should have been discovered by the Bergerian and the man was under control, otherwise there was no way he would not have answered his phone. How much Rowson wanted to save Eloise was clear to him, so there was absolutely no way Rowson would do anything against Eloise.
Killers nodded, "Good, even if it wasn't Rowson, then there's a traitor in our midst."
Ramm scanned the circle of subordinates present, each one had been handpicked by him and in his opinion, there could be no second thoughts. "Now is not the time for that." Hector said, "I'll go back home immediately and you guys will take care of the rest."
"You're going back?" Killers frowned, "It's a mess and you're just going to throw us under the bus?"
"Eloise is in danger, hard work guys."
Hector just wanted to hurry back to Eloise, to be with her, to protect her.
Killers bristled, "Fine, your wife is most important, I'll handle this place." "Thanks."
Hector smiled at her gratefully and whirled, turning and striding away.
