Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1097: Not even if you're too attractive
Eloise couldn't understand what Lisa was saying, but she could still tell from her expression that she disliked herself.
With a sudden flash of light in her head, Eloise deliberately lifted her chin and said with extra pride, "Bergerian can like me."
Carl's brow furrowed as he heard this, and Edwina hesitated to translate it to Lisa.
A look from Lisa floated over and he dutifully translated into Italian anyway.
Upon hearing it, Lisa's face changed instantly, looking at Eloise with more than a little hostility, and she Edwina narrowed her eyes, "You're saying Bergerian likes you?" Her tone was uncertain.
Seeing Eloise frown with a look of incomprehension.
"Carl, translate for her." Lisa ordered impatiently.
"Yes." Carl responded respectfully and acted as a translator for both of them.
So she really did believe her own words.
The corners of Eloise's mouth rose uncontrollably, and she hurriedly coughed softly to resist the urge to laugh.
"Yes, Bergerian likes me a lot, why else would he have me here?"
"No way!" Lisa's voice rose sharply as she looked Eloise up and down with contempt in her eyes, "How could Bergerian possibly like you like that? You're an experiment, don't flatter yourself."
Eloise curled her lips in a smile and said, unperturbed, "That's his excuse to the outside world."
Lisa's gaze flinched and she glared at the housekeeper, "Is she telling the truth?"
The housekeeper was scared to death and shook his head busily, "Of course not, she, how could she possibly be telling the truth?"
"Don't you ask the butler, how would he know exactly what's on Bergerian's mind?" Eloise stroked her hair in mock shyness, "Actually Bergerian and I met a long time ago and he couldn't get me out of his mind before he tried everything to have me brought in."
At this point, she couldn't help but sigh, "This woman, it's not okay to be too charming."
These words were nothing but a deliberate attempt to anger Lisa.
Obviously, she succeeded.
Lisa's face was contorted with anger and her cynical gaze was fixed on her, gritting her teeth, "I don't believe Bergerian likes you, I don't believe it!"
She said "I don't believe it" a few times, as if to brainwash herself. She said "I don't believe it" several times, as if to brainwash herself.
Eloise shook her head and sighed, "If you don't believe me, forget it. To be honest, you're a poor woman, your husband likes other women." "Bitch!"
Lisa was completely enraged and rushed up, raising her hand to slap.
"Madam!"
The housekeeper stopped her with a quick eye, "Madam, you can't hit her."
"Why?" Lisa glared at him angrily.
"Because she's an experiment, if she gets a little hurt, I won't be able to explain to Sir."
The butler's explanation made Lisa even more angry and sneered, "You're afraid I'll hurt Bergerian's heart and soul, aren't you?"
"No." The housekeeper was on the verge of tears, "Madam, she just spoke on purpose to anger you, how could Mr Bergerian possibly like a Nordic woman? Don't you believe in Mr Bergerian's feelings for you?" Lisa drew back her hand and drew a deep breath.
Yes, how could she not believe in Bergerian?
Seeing that Lisa was slowly calming down with the housekeeper's persuasion, Eloise's eyes rolled up and she suddenly gave a petulant cry, "Oops, I forgot something."
Lisa looked over and frowned, "What are you trying to say again?"
Eloise narrowed her eyes with a smile, "I forgot to tell you that Mr Bergerian told me that he would rather have dinner with me than go back to your place."
Lisa remembered that last night, she had called Bergerian and asked him to come home for dinner, but had been refused.
Declined on the grounds that he had something to do.
"Butler, is it true what she said?" Lisa looked to the housekeeper.
"It's..." The housekeeper was momentarily at a loss for an explanation, after all, Mr Bergerian did invite Eloise to dinner with him last night, although it ended up being just Mr Bergerian himself. Lisa narrowed her eyes, "It's true, isn't it?"
"No...."
The butler tried to explain, but was stopped by Lisa raising her hand.
"Carl, get rid of this woman." Lisa gave a cold order as she gave Eloise a deadly stare.
"Yes."
Carl led the order and approached Eloise.
Dispose of?
Eloise subconsciously stepped back, her good-looking eyebrows furrowed, "You're not going to kill me, are you?"
Lisa laughed softly and the cold words popped out of her mouth, "Yes, I'm going to kill you."
Eloise's face went white with a swish and she shook her head, "No, you can't kill me, Mr Bergerian will be angry."
"He'll only be angry for a little while, after all, a woman is nothing to him."
Lisa's words made Eloise realise that she had screwed up.
She had intended to provoke her into getting rid of herself, but who knew, she would simply want to dispose of herself.
"Housekeeper, are you just going to watch?" Eloise turned to the housekeeper for help.
On hearing this, the butler hurried over and shielded her behind her, "Madam, you can't touch her. Believe it or not, she is really just an experiment, and by killing her, you would be ruining Mr Bergerian and Professor Curry's experiments. They have put too much work into this research, and they are on the verge of success, so you can't let your impulsiveness ruin it."
At this point, Eloise chimed in, "Yes, all my words were a lie, I had nothing to do with Mr Bergerian."
Staying alive was more important than getting out.
"You're telling the truth?" Lisa stared at her suspiciously.
Eloise nodded her head vigorously, "Really, very much so."
Lisa examined her for a long moment before nodding and warning, "Fine then, I'll believe you for now. If I replace out you're having an affair with Bergerian, I'll never forgive you." "Don't worry, I'm not interested in Bergerian at all." Eloise smiled apologetically and just about raised her hand in an oath.
Lisa gave her a stern look before saying, "Carl, come here."
Carl stepped back behind her.
"Remember what you said, you better stay away from Bergerian and be a good experiment, okay?"
Eloise was busy nodding in the face of Lisa's warning, "Yes, I know."
"Carl, let's go."
Lisa let Eloise go for the moment, not really believing her, but fearing that she might upset Bergerian.
She didn't want to make things difficult with Bergerian because of a woman who might not even be related.
It wouldn't be worth it.
As she watched Lisa and Carl leave, Eloise let out a long sigh of relief, "That scared the hell out of me."
At that, the housekeeper turned her head and glared at her unhappily, "Miss Eloise, why did you say those things on purpose?"
"Boredom." Eloise bristled, unconcerned.
The butler took a deep breath to keep her anger at bay and said patiently, "Watch your mouth from now on, Mrs. Lisa is not someone you want to mess with." "Got it."
Of course Eloise knew that Lisa was not to be messed with, but whether she would ever see her again was another matter.
