Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1107: Something's not right

Rowson hadn't expected to hear from Katerina so soon.

He was surprised when he received her call, "You've got news?"

"That's right. I'll come to you, or you'll come to me?" Katerina on the other end of the line asked.

"I'll come to you."

Rowson hung up the phone, grabbed his jacket and hurried out the door.

As soon as they met, Rowson asked impatiently, "Where's the man?"

"After dinner." Katerina was looking at the menu and said without looking up.

Although she was in a hurry, she knew her character well enough that once he kept asking questions, he was sure to piss her off and she wouldn't say anything then. Rowson pulled out a chair and sat down opposite her.

"What would you like to eat?" Katerina glanced up at him.

"Whatever."

Rowson couldn't be bothered to think about what to eat; he was now filled with a desperate need to know Hector's whereabouts. "I'll order for you, then."

After ordering, Katerina poured him a glass of lemonade, the corners of her mouth curling slightly, "Aren't you dying to know?" Rowson Edwina frowned, "If you know, you don't have to ask so knowingly."

Katerina laughed out, "I just wanted to see how long you could stand it."

She picked up her water and took a sip, "After all, as long as it's Eloise, you'll always have it on your mind, afraid of forgetting it." In the end, she was really jealous of Eloise.

It was amazing that a woman so ordinary could be loved by two men as wonderful as Hector and Rowson at the same time.

This time, no matter what, she would make sure that Rowson could never see Eloise again.

"I owe her that." Rowson's eyes dropped slightly, hiding the faint sadness underneath them.

"Owed to her?" Katerina thought it was hilarious, "You joined Bergerian's research team for her, that's enough. You don't owe her any more."

Rowson looked at her quietly for a long moment before speaking, "You don't get to tell me what to do with Eloise."

"I tell you what to do?" Katerina snorted disdainfully, "Rowson, you really think you want to be in charge of your business, don't you? Don't flatter yourself." With that, she drained her glass of water in one angry gulp.

But it was still hard to eradicate the anger in her heart.

Rowson, fearing that she might not tell him where Hector was, poured the water for her.

At this, Katerina sneered, "Rowson, you're a hypocrite."

"You can call me names if you want." Rowson said indifferently.

He would let her do it today, as long as she was willing to tell him where Hector was.

Katerina snorted, "I don't care to scold you."

After that, both of them fell silent, neither of them initiating another word.

It wasn't until they finished their meal that Rowson spoke, "Now can you tell me where the man is?"

Katerina frowned and stared up at him, "Rowson, can't you wait until I've finished eating before you ask?"

Rowson nodded, "Yes."

But Katerina had lost her appetite, she put her fork down and wiped her mouth with a wet wipe before saying slowly, "Hector's not at Bergerian's." "Not there?" Rowson's brow tightened, "Where else?"

"Taken by a woman called Earlene."

Earlene?

"Why does that name sound familiar?" Rowson thought hard about it and suddenly his eyes lit up, "She's a medical researcher too." "Oh?" Katerina raised her eyebrows, "You know her?"

"No. But have heard of her name. Just how did she get Hector away?"

"How should I know?" Katerina looked at him with some amusement, "Do you think Mr Bergerian would tell me everything?" "I'm sorry." Rowson apologized.

"Don't be." Katerina turned the tables, "Now that I've told you everything I know, are you going to do the same?"

Rowson nodded, "Don't worry, this is the last time I'll see Eloise and I'll never see her again."

Katerina gave a satisfied smile, "That's good."

Rowson bowed his head and clenched his hands slowly, he didn't know if he was right or wrong to agree to Katerina's terms. But as long as it helped Eloise, it didn't matter.

...

"Taken by Earlene?"

Eloise stood up in shock, incredulity written all over her small, clear face.

How could she have ever thought this would have anything to do with Earlene.

Rowson nodded, "That's what Katerina told me, she didn't know Earlene, so there's no way she made it up to lie to me." "How could that be?" Eloise's body shook.

"Eloise, don't get excited!" Edgar hurried to hold her up, a worried look on his face.

He was just as shocked, but come to think of it, it really was something Earlene could have done.

Eloise took a deep breath to calm herself down and she turned her head, "Cousin, let's go back to Kyoto immediately." "You're going back?" Rowson asked.

"Hmm. I'm going to the Bartram family to ask for clarification." Eloise said indignantly.

She was going to ask Earlene to her face what it meant to take someone else to her husband.

Rowson frowned tightly, looking thoughtful.

Edgar asked tentatively, "Mr. Rowson, what's wrong?"

Rowson looked back and thought for a moment, "This whole thing is too weird, don't you guys think?"

"What do you mean?" Eloise was a little confused.

She was too busy trying to get back home to Earlene to ask questions to think about anything else.

"Think about it, could Hector have just gone off with another woman?" Rowson asks.

Edgar shook his head, "No way."

He knew that Hector didn't like Earlene, so there was no way he would go with her.

Eloise then realised that something was wrong with the whole thing, "You mean Hector wasn't taken by her?"

"No." Rowson hesitated before saying, "I mean Hector might not be in the right situation, otherwise he couldn't have gone with Earlene and not contacted you for so long. After all, Earlene is also a medical researcher, and she may have done something to Hector."

That was just his guess.

Eloise's face went white at that, "No, Earlene wouldn't hurt Hector."

"Eloise, don't be hasty. I don't mean that the woman hurt Hector, but that she could have done something to Hector to make him behave as she said." Edgar frowned, "Can such a thing be done?"

"Of course." Rowson nodded, "It's just that it's something that's explicitly stopped, and it's not usually done unless by someone with evil intentions."

At his comment, Edgar became even more worried.

Earlene did like Hector a lot, and approached Eloise so she could get close to him, and there was a huge possibility that a woman with such a heart would do something like that.

"How could she do that?" Eloise laughed bitterly, "I never thought making a friend would be making an enemy for myself and hurting Hector."

"Eloise, don't think about that yet, when we go back to Kyoto and meet her naturally everything will be clear."

That was all Edgar could do to comfort her when things came to a head.
