Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1113: Getting to see Daddy Mummy
Edgar made the trip to City J himself. When he arrived at Rogers Group, Rupert was still in a meeting and his assistant took him to the parlour to wait. "Mr Farabee, the president asked you to wait, the meeting will be over soon."
Edgar smiled at the assistant, "Okay, I got it."
About ten minutes later, Rupert pushed open the door and hurried in.
"Edgar, sorry to keep you waiting."
Edgar stood up, smiling and shaking his head, "It's okay."
Rupert reached out and gestured for him to sit down, "I know all about my brother and sister-in-law, it's been hard on you."
"It's not hard on me, it's hard on Eloise," Edgar sighed, "Eloise isn't doing so well right now."
"Is it the virus?" Rupert asked.
Edgar nodded, "Well, Almeida says the virus is showing signs of flare-ups, but it's under control for now."
RupertEdwina breathed a sigh of relief, "That's good."
"Rupert, I came over today because I wanted to bring Solomon and Sweety to Kyoto to spend time with Eloise."
"That's fine." Rupert nodded, "I'll take you back to the Rogers family later, the two little ones are just on holiday so they can have a few more days."
Edgar smiled, "Good."
There was silence from both of them.
It was a long time before Rupert spoke again, "Thomas and Ramm have been doing everything they can to replace my brother, but so far they've come up empty-handed."
Edgar pondered for a moment, "Maybe we could go after Bergerian, he should know something."
"Bergerian?" frowned Rupert, "Do you think he would be willing to tell us?"
Edgar laughed bitterly, "No."
How could Bergerian be willing to tell them about Hector's whereabouts when he must hate them so much by now?
Rupert shrugged his shoulders, "It's still up to us."
"I have people in Italy to assist Thomas and the others, unless Hector isn't in Italy, it's that big, we'll replace the man soon enough." Edgar said.
Rupert sighed, "I hope so."
"Have all the operations of the new company stopped?" Rupert asked with a turn of phrase.
Edgar smiled helplessly, "Earlene was pretty much in charge of the company before, and now that I can't replace her people, I can't stop without it, but it should be up and running again in a while," "That's good."
Rupert stood up, "Come on, let's go home and pick up Solomon and Sweety."
...
Both Rupert and Edgar had tacitly chosen to keep Hector's disappearance a secret from Hector's parents.
"How come you're the one who came to take the two little kids over, where's Hector?" Hector's mother asked, puzzled.
Edgar laughed, "Hector's been a bit busy and he hasn't had much time for Eloise, so he thought he'd bring the two kids over for a few days, just so he can spend some time with Eloise." Hector's mother didn't doubt his words, "So that's it, no wonder he hasn't called home in the last few days."
"Auntie, Hector has been working on a very important collaboration recently, so you should try not to contact him so he doesn't get distracted."
Edgar said this because he didn't want Hector's parents to contact Hector for fear that they might replace out about Hector's disappearance.
Hector's mother nodded, "Okay, I get it. Then you tell him to bring Eloise back when things are done and not to keep bothering you guys." "Auntie, it's okay. It's more lively with a few more people in the house." Edgar chuckled.
"That won't work either." Hector's mother frowned with a look of disapproval, "It's too much work for your parents with them living in the Khan family all the time like that." Edgar laughed helplessly, "Yes, Aunty, I'll pass on your wishes to them."
Hector's mother then smiled and said to him, "Come on, I'll take you upstairs to see Solomon and Sweety."
"Okay."
Edgar followed Hector's mother up the stairs.
Solomon and Sweety were playing in the playroom, and just as they reached the door, they could hear the sound of pleasant, clear laughter coming out.
Hector's mother laughed along with them and turned her head to look at Edgar, "These two little ones are having quite a good time."
Edgar smiled, not saying anything.
He walked into the room just in time to see Solomon and Sweety sliding down the slide, one after the other.
Sweety saw him first and her little face instantly lit up with surprise as she exclaimed, "Uncle Junior!"
She hurriedly climbed up out of the ocean ball, climbed out of the fence on her hands and knees and ran towards him.
"Sweety," Edgar said as he picked her up in his arms.
Every time he saw this little one, his whole heart instantly turned to water and was unusually soft.
Seeing how close they were, Hector's mother couldn't help but smile, "Sweety always talks about you, saying that she likes you the most."
At that, Edgar raised his eyebrows in surprise, "Really Sweety?"
Sweety nodded her head, "Really, Sweety likes her brother-in-law the most."
Edgar gave her nose an affectionate pinch, his handsome face was filled with affection.
At that moment, Solomon came up to him and called out nicely, "Little Uncle."
Edgar looked down and met Solomon's ever-silent eyes and smiled, "Has Solomon put together any new models lately?"
Solomon nodded, "Yes."
Then he pointed to the display case behind Edgar and said, "Those are the new models I've put together."
Edgar looked in the direction he was pointing.
A model plane, and a model car.
"That's impressive." Edgar freed his hand and stroked his head.
Solomon's calm face instantly broke into a happy smile.
Since his brother-in-law loved models as much as he did, it was even more fun to get a compliment from him than to win a prize at school. "Solomon, Sweety, would you like to come and play at your brother-in-law's house for a few days?" Edgar asked.
Sweety answered back almost without thinking, "Yes, I want to play at my brother-in-law's house and eat my uncle's grandmother's biscuits!" "Grandma and Uncle make the best biscuits." Sweety said, with a crooked smile.
Hector's mother looked at her with a grimace, "You're a glutton, you only know how to eat."
Edgar laughed and rubbed Sweety's head and looked down at Solomon, "Where's Solomon, do you want to go?"
Solomon nodded, "Yes."
If we went we would get to see mummy and daddy.
"Let's go and pack then."
Hector's mother took the two little ones to their rooms to pack.
Edgar went downstairs to wait just as Rupert and Aisly returned.
Rupert was supposed to go back to the Rogers family with Edgar, but halfway there he received a call from his wife Aisly, saying that she had suddenly had a stomach ache while shopping at the mall. Aisly was in labour and scared father-to-be Rupert left his guests and ran straight to the mall.
"How is it?" Edgar asked with concern.
Rupert gave a helpless smile, "The doctor said it was a bad meal."
Aisly beside him spat out her tongue in embarrassment.
Edgar couldn't help but laugh, "It was kind of a false alarm, but you, the father-to-be, still need to be ready early."
"Yeah. So that one's just going to be a pain in the arse." Rupert said.
Edgar raised an eyebrow, "Just stay with your wife in labour and leave the rest to me."
"What are you talking about? Why don't I understand?" Aisly felt they were hiding something from her.
"It's nothing. Let me help you upstairs to rest."
Rupert winked at Edgar and helped Aisly upstairs.
