Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1114: Surprise
"What's going on?"
Once in the room, Aisly turned around and narrowed her eyes at Rupert.
Rupert looked confused, "What's going on?"
"Don't pretend, there's something you're not telling me." Aisly sounded very sure of herself.
"Is there?" Rupert's eyes fluttered, "I... how could I possibly be hiding something from you? Don't get your head in the sand."
"Rupert, I'm your wife, I know you best. You didn't even dare to look at me just now, you know? You're having a weak heart!"
Rupert was silent for a few seconds and smiled bitterly, "Aisly, since you knew we were hiding something from you, you should have been able to guess that it wasn't good." At this, Aisly frowned, "Something very bad?"
Rupert nodded, "That's why I didn't really want you to know, for Mum and Dad to know."
"What exactly is going on?" Aisly's eyes suddenly widened, "Did something happen to big brother and sister-in-law?"
Rupert didn't answer.
But he could tell by his somewhat heavy expression that she was right in her guess.
"What's wrong with Big Brother and Sister-in-Law?" Aisly asked anxiously.
Rupert took her shoulders and said in a soothing voice, "It's nothing, just a little thing. the Khan family will sort it out."
"Is that so?" Aisly was half-hearted.
Rupert laughed helplessly, "Didn't you hear what Edgar said? He'll sort things out. As for you, don't worry about it, just be a good boy and wait for the baby to be born."
"Rupert, don't you lie to me, do you know that?" Aisly hoped he was telling the truth, that it really was just a small matter.
"I know." Rupert stroked her cheek, "You go and rest while I go downstairs and have a word with Edgar."
Aisly nodded good-naturedly, "Okay, go ahead."
As she watched him go out, Aisly's brow slowly furrowed, she always felt that things were not as simple as he said, it seemed that she would have to call her sister-in-law some time to ask her.
...
Rupert came downstairs and smiled as he saw his mother and two children there.
"Solomon, Sweety, you behave yourselves when you get to the Khan family, okay?" He gently admonished the two little ones.
"I know, Uncle, I'll be good." Sweety assured him in a milky voice.
"I'll be good too." Solomon followed suit.
Rupert stroked their heads and smiled, "I trust you."
Then he looked up at Edgar, "It's been hard on you and Uncle Edgar and Aunt Brimlad."
"There's nothing hard about a family." Edgar picked Sweety up, "It's late, I'll take them back to Kyoto, we'll talk on the phone if anything comes up."
Rupert nodded, "Okay, take care on the way."
After sending Edgar and the two children out the door, Hector's mother frowned, "Rupert, I don't know what's been going on in my mind the last few days, I've been feeling very uneasy." "Mum, don't get your head in the clouds. Now that the kids are gone, you'll have more time to go out for coffee and shopping with your sisters, isn't that nice?" Rupert put his arm around her shoulders and smiled. Hector's mother burst out laughing, "Aisly's about to have her baby and I don't dare go out, I have to be there for her."
"Good job Mum."
Hector's mother patted his hand, "It's not hard. You and Hector are the ones who are having a hard time. Without you, your father and I wouldn't be able to enjoy our lives so early." "My brother and I deserve to work hard."
At the mention of Hector, the smile on Rupert's lips faded a little and there was a little more gravity in his eyes.
"By the way, tell your brother that he needs to bring Eloise back before the baby is born." Hector's mother explained.
It wasn't that she didn't like the idea of Hector and Eloise staying with the Khan family, she just thought it would be nice to be together as a family on such an important occasion. "Okay, I know." Rupert promised her with a smile.
In fact, inside he was a worried mess.
If he couldn't get his big brother back before Aisly went into labour, there was no telling what excuse he would have to replace to lie to the two old men again when the time came.
...
Brimlad was afraid that Eloise would be bored out of her mind if she stayed in her room all the time, so he took her out into the garden to sit in the breeze.
Eloise was still a little tired and didn't sit for long before she was a little drowsy.
"Mummy!"
A sudden voice woke her up at once.
She hurriedly turned her head and looked around to see two small figures running towards her.
It was Solomon and Sweety.
"Mummy!" Sweety flung herself into her arms.
Eloise hurriedly wrapped her arms around her and with a surprised look on her face at Solomon, who stopped in front of her, asked, "What are you doing here?" "I was the one who went to City J to bring them over."
Eloise looked up only to see Edgar walking over, looking at herself with a gentle, light smile, "I thought you'd be happy to have them with you."
Eloise took a deep breath to force back her tears and tried to squeeze out a smile, "Thank you, cousin."
"Fool, we're all family, what's the point of saying thank you."
Eloise smiled with tears in her eyes as she took the two children into her arms.
The hug was tight.
The hearts that had been wandering for days were finally soothed in this moment.
Edgar looked at them with tender eyes, and only after a moment did he ask, "Where is my mother?"
Eloise raised her hand to wipe the tears from the corner of her eyes and said, "My aunt-in-law said she had to prepare a snack for me, so she went inside."
At that, Sweety tilted her little face, "Is there a biscuit made by my aunt and grandmother herself?"
Eloise smiled and nodded, "Yes, there are. isn't Sweety eager to eat them?"
"Yes!"
Sweety replied loudly.
"What about Solomon?" Eloise looked to Solomon.
Solomon looked at Edgar and whispered, "I want those models of my brother-in-law more."
"Then ask your brother-in-law if you can play with them?" Eloise gestured for him to ask Edgar. Before Solomon could say anything, Edgar said, "Sure, I'll take you up."
Solomon immediately smiled at this, "Thank you brother-in-law."
"Come on."
Edgar took his hand and led him towards the villa.
At the door, he ran right into Brimlad.
"Solomon."
A smile rippled across Brimlad's face at the sight of Solomon.
"Grandma and Uncle." Solomon called out good-naturedly.
"Good boy." Brimlad looked at Edgar in confusion, "Where are you taking Solomon?"
"He wants to play with the models, I'm taking him upstairs."
Brimlad frowned, "Solomon, let's not go upstairs, let's play in the garden with Grandma and Uncle, there are biscuits."
Solomon shook his head, "No, I still want to put the models together."
"Mum, don't tempt Solomon with the biscuits, he's all about the models now." Edgar chuckled.
Brimlad sighed, "Alright then, you guys go ahead."
It was only after watching them go inside, one large and one small, that Brimlad walked towards Eloise and the girls with their refreshments. As soon as she saw her, Sweety shouted out, "Auntie Granny."
"Hey."
Looking at Sweety's bright smiling face, Brimlad couldn't help but quicken his pace.
