Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1127: Hiding someone for life?
Eloise walked into the study and didn't see Edgar.
I thought there was work? Why wasn't anyone there?
"Eloise."
The voice that suddenly sounded behind her startled Eloise and she turned around, glaring at Edgar in displeasure, "Cousin, why are you walking without a sound?" Edgar smiled apologetically, "I'm sorry for scaring you."
Eloise slapped her chest and said unkindly, "Yeah, you almost scared me to death." Edgar smiled and the conversation turned, "You wanted to see me about something?" "Yeah." Eloise nodded.
"It's to ask if I really like Edwina, isn't it?" Edgar asked as he walked towards his desk.
Eloise looked at him, "Now that you know what I want to ask, you can explain yourself." Edgar looked up at her and sat down casually, "Want to hear the truth?"
"Sure."
Why else would she have come up here specifically to replace him.
Edgar pondered for a moment and spoke slowly, "I don't like Edwina, and I don't like Ainsley."
"See." Eloise raised her eyebrows, "You're using Edwina as a shield, that's a bit much."
"I can't help it." Edgar sighed, "It's not like you don't know my mother's personality, how could she leave me alone if I didn't say that?" "But have you ever thought that you are being unfair to Edwina by doing this. And what would her brother-in-law think of Edwina?" "You're angry?" Edgar asked.
Eloise took a deep breath, "I do get a little angry. edwina is my friend and I don't want to see her get hurt."
It would have been fine if Edwina only saw Edgar as a normal friend, but she could see that Edwina liked Edgar.
"I'm sorry, I didn't think it through." Edgar apologised sincerely.
He didn't know how he had said that at the time, probably because he had a better impression of Edwina.
"Cousin, I still hope you can replace a chance to talk to your brother-in-law about it." Eloise said.
Edgar nodded, "Good."
Eloise then put her foot down, "Cousin, it's hard enough for Edwina to bring up a child on her own, don't give people a hard time."
At that, Edgar couldn't help but laugh, "Eloise, I'm your cousin, why are you always speaking for others?"
"Edwina is my friend."
"Good, she's your friend, more than me." Edgar shook his head and lost his smile.
"You get busy, I won't bother you."
Eloise turned to leave.
"Wait." Edgar called out to her.
She turned around, "What's wrong?"
"Thomas is back home."
Eloise frowned, "Why is he back home, aren't they looking for Hector?"
"They've searched all over Italy and there's no sign of Hector. They suspect Hector isn't in Italy." Edgar updated her on the situation. "Not in Italy, then where?" Eloise pursued.
"The Killers are already working on Earlene's flight information and will let me know as soon as they have any new information." Eloise's heart sank and her face smiled, a smile laced with a hint of sarcasm, "Does Earlene think she can hide people for the rest of her life?" "That's probably what she thinks."
"No way!" Eloise retorted back loudly, "I don't believe Hector won't come to his senses, she can't hide someone for life, Hector will come back." "Of course he'll come back, he's your husband, of course he'll come back to you." Edgar said.
Eloise closed her eyes and took a deep breath, "Cousin, I'm sorry, I'm a bit emotional."
Edgar came over and patted her shoulder, reassuringly, "Don't worry, Ramm and Killers and the others will get the man back."
"I know." Eloise nodded, "I've always trusted them."
"That's good."
Eloise pursed her lips, "It's just that..."
"Just what?"
"It's just that I don't know when Hector is going to be back."
Edgar took her into his arms, "Soon, very soon."
Soon.
Equal to the complete unknown.
It could be days, or a month or months, or even years.
The thought of it made the mind begin to wander.
Eloise bit her lip, forcing back the tears; she couldn't cry, couldn't let her cousin worry.
"I'm fine."
Eloise pushed him away and tried to squeeze out a smile, "I'll be fine until Hector gets back."
Even though she was smiling, she could still see her eyes were red.
They were clearly on the verge of tears, but held back.
It was because she was afraid he would worry.
Edgar was heartbroken and raised his hand to rub her head, saying softly, "Well, you just take care of yourself, we'll get the man back." Eloise nodded, "Yeah."
...
As soon as Edwina got home, Bonnie came running over and asked curiously, "Mum, didn't you say you wouldn't be home until late?" "Isn't it bad that I'm back early?" Edwina looked at him in disbelief.
"Of course it's good."
Bonnie followed her, like a curious baby, and asked again, "Did Uncle Edgar get a present?"
"Yes, got it."
Edwina sat bolt upright on the sofa and took the pillow next to her and hugged it in her arms.
"What kind of present is it?"
Edwina turned her head, looked at a curious Bonnie and sighed, "Bonnie, mummy is tired, can you give me a break?"
"Oh." Bonnie meekly kept her mouth shut.
Edwina leaned back against the couch and stared at the ceiling, still clogged up inside.
Seeing that she didn't look very well, Bonnie couldn't help but ask again, "Mummy, what's wrong with you? Are you unhappy?" "Yeah, not happy."
I was happy, but not after Ainsley appeared.
The image of Edgar and Ainsley standing together came to mind.
A handsome man and a beautiful woman.
A really good match.
"Ah!" Annoyed, she picked up the pillow and covered her face.
This startled Bonnie, "Mum, what's wrong with you? Is Uncle Edgar bullying you?"
Edwina took the pillow off and turned her head to look at him, "No, how could he have bullied me?" "Then what's wrong?"
"Nothing." Edwina took a deep breath, "It's mum who thinks too much of herself."
She and Edgar weren't even in the same world, she couldn't move her mind in a way she shouldn't.
With that in mind, she raised her hand and patted her cheek, "Edwina, make good money and raise your son well, more than anything else." Bonnie looked at her quizzically, "Mum, what are you doing?"
Edwina stroked his head and smiled, "I must raise you to be useful to society."
"Mum, you've said this many times before."
"I know." Edwina raised her eyebrows, "But it has to be said often or I'll forget."
Yes, she did forget, forgetting her sister's last wish.
What right did she have to have feelings until she fulfilled her sister's last wish.
Bonnie saw that she didn't know what she was thinking, so she spoke up and asked, "Mum, what's going on with you and Uncle Edgar?" Edwina looked back and smiled, "No more mention of Uncle Edgar."
"Why?"
Edwina got up and headed for the kitchen, "No reason, no mention of it means no mention of it."
