Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1133: Alone Man and Woman

Ainsley's friends were very rowdy people, and as soon as they heard that Edgar was Ainsley's boyfriend, they toasted him one after another. He wasn't used to drinking on an empty stomach, and after a few glasses of wine, his stomach started to feel a little queasy.

"I'm not Ainsley's boyfriend."

Edgar put his glass down, his hand pressing against his stomach, and spoke up to explain.

"Not a boyfriend?" Everyone looked over towards Ainsley.

Ainsley blushed a little and said in a rush, "Our two families are about to join in marriage, he really isn't my boyfriend, he's the fiancé."

"A union?" Edgar's brow furrowed, "How come I didn't know that was a thing?"

"But... maybe the aunts and uncles forgot to mention it to you." Ainsley didn't expect him to not know about it either and panicked a little for a moment. "Is that so?"

Edgar pulled down the corner of his mouth and looked cold, "I'm a little sick, go out to get some air."

With those words, he turned and walked out.

"Edgar," Ainsley hurried after him.

"I just want to be left alone, don't follow me here again."

Hearing the footsteps following behind him, Edgar said without looking back.

Ainsley was afraid she would make him angry, so she stopped and watched him walk away.

Back at the villa, her friends immediately gathered around.

"Ainsley, is he really your fiancé? Why do I get the feeling he doesn't like you?"

"Yeah, it looks cold."

"What do you know, good men are more arrogant nowadays, maybe he loves Ainsley to death."

Ainsley was distracted by the noise of her friends, and the fact that Edgar was really cold to her made her feel even worse.

"That's enough! Shut up, everyone!"

Ainsley scanned a circle of her friends with displeasure, "This is my personal business, so you should keep your mouths shut." Whatever Edgar's attitude towards her, it was not for outsiders to tell her what to do.

...

At last, we were done.

Edwina couldn't help but swallow as she looked at the wide variety of food on the buffet table.

She raised her hand and touched her stomach, "I'm so hungry."

"Nah, let's have a loaf of bread to fill you up." A colleague handed over a loaf of bread.

"Thanks." Edwina smiled at her gratefully.

"Go eat in the back before you're found out and scolded again." The colleague pointed to the garden at the back of the cottage, "I'll keep an eye on it and call you if anything comes up." "Okay."

Edwina took the bread and ran off to the garden behind the villa.

The garden was quiet, with only a few street lamps on, and the light was a little dim, making it even colder.

Edwina looked around, trying to replace a place to sit, when suddenly a figure sitting on a bench not far away caught her attention.

Why was there someone here?

As she gingerly approached, she saw that the person's head was tilted back and her face was not visible.

Nevertheless, there was a sense of familiarity that came over her.

With a slight frown, she called out tentatively, "Mr Farabee?"

A timid voice suddenly sounded familiar to her ears.

Edgar hurriedly sat up straight and saw that it was Edwina.

The corners of his mouth couldn't help but rise upwards, "What brings you here?"

Edwina smiled shyly, "I was hungry, so I hid here to have something to eat."

Edgar noticed the bread she was holding and raised his sword eyebrows, "Then sit here and eat."

"Will it disturb you?"

"No."

Edwina carefully sat down next to him, picked up the bread and took a bite.

Edgar looked at her askance and laughed softly, raising his hand to rub his temples, which were a little sore.

Edwina didn't dare turn her head to look at him openly, so she caught a glimpse of him out of the corner of her eye and saw him pressing his temples.

She hesitantly asked, "Are you uncomfortable?"

Edgar turned his head, met her concerned gaze and the corner of his mouth curled, "I've just had a few drinks and my head hurts a bit."

Edwina thought for a moment and said, "If you don't mind, I can press it for you."

"Hmm?" Edgar didn't understand what she meant for a moment.

Edwina was afraid that he might misunderstand that she had something in mind for him, so she hurriedly explained, "I used to massage my sister when she had a headache, it's very comfortable, you don't have to worry." Perhaps it was her serious expression that impressed him, and he actually nodded his head in agreement.

"Good."

Edwina's eyes lit up and she hurriedly put away the bread, got up and walked behind him, lifting her hand and gently placing it on his temple.

Her fingertips were a little cool, and Edgar's heart missed a beat when they touched him.

"You keep your eyes closed."

A nice voice rang in his ears and Edgar obediently closed his eyes.

She began to gently press and rub his temples.

Perhaps it was because his eyes were closed that he could clearly feel her fingertips pressing gently one at a time.

It was as comfortable as she said it would be.

The cool evening breeze blew through and Edwina couldn't help but sneeze.

Edgar oohed and aahed and opened his eyes, grabbing her hand, "No need to press it."

His voice was a little husky and inexplicably a little sexy.

Edwina's little face burned slightly and she hurriedly drew her hand back, "You need to press it more so that your head doesn't hurt."

"I'm already much better." Edgar said, "Aren't you hungry? Hurry up and eat the bread, it's a bit cold here, be careful of catching a chill."

At that, Edwina couldn't help but feel a little touched inside.

He had heard her sneeze, so he didn't let her keep pressing.

He was concerned for her, wasn't he?

Could she think so?

Seeing that she had been standing back there without moving, Edgar turned back, looking a little helpless, "Edwina, I'm really fine, come over and eat the bread." Edwina snapped back to her senses, "Oh."

She obediently walked back to him and sat down, picking up the half-eaten bread.

At that moment, a sharp female voice suddenly came out, "What are you two doing?"

Edwina turned her head and looked around to see Ainsley running over, displeasure written all over her delicately made-up face.

She hurriedly stood up, "Miss. Ainsley."

"What are you doing here?" Ainsley questioned sternly.

"I..."

Edgar was unhappy with Ainsley's aggressive attitude and spoke up to explain for Edwina, "She's here to get something to eat."

Ainsley was even more upset at his explanation, "Does she have no mouth and you need to explain it for her?"

Edgar's expression instantly sank, he looked at Edwina who had her head down and didn't dare to speak, got up and said in a cold tone, "Ainsley, don't go too far." "I'm going too far?" Ainsley laughed in anger, "It's more like you're alone together, isn't it?"

"Miss. Ainsley, me and Mr Farabee just happened to run into each other, it's not what you think." Edwina tried anxiously to explain.

But Ainsley didn't even listen to her explanation and shouted, "Get out of my sight!"

Edwina looked at her, then at Edgar, turned and ran away.
