Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1138: Parents' Orders
Edwards dropped Edwina off at home and left straight away.
Edwina watched his car drive away until she was out of sight before turning around and going upstairs. As soon as she heard the door open, Bonnie immediately ran over to her.
"Mum, you're home."
Edwina smiled softly, "Yes, Mummy's home."
Bonnie looked her up and down, confusion written all over her face, "Mummy, is this your new dress?"
Edwina looked down at the clothes she was wearing and smiled, shaking her head, "No, Mummy's clothes are dirty, someone else lent them to me."
"Oh." Bonnie was a little disappointed, "I thought you knew how to buy nice clothes for yourself mum."
At that, Edwina laughed, "You, my clothes don't even look good?"
"They're not bad, they're a bit old fashioned." Bonnie was still really serious about answering her question.
"Well, mum works in a restaurant, not in an office building, you don't need to wear much fashionable and nice clothes."
Edwina put her arm around him and sat down in the living room, turning her head to look at him seriously, "Did you finish your homework?"
Bonnie nodded, "Yes, I'm done."
"That's a good boy." Edwina stroked his head, looking at his features which were somewhat similar to her sister's, and couldn't help but feel a bit of pain and guilt.
She sometimes worked late shifts and didn't get home until late, all with just him at home.
He was only eight years old and he was forced to learn many things.
For example, heating his own meals and washing his own dishes.
Compared to Solomon and Sweety, he really is like a little adult.
"Mum, what's wrong with you?" Bonnie asked out loud when she saw her staring at herself wondering what she was thinking.
Edwina looked back, smiled and said, "Nothing."
She touched his head again and suddenly, I don't know if it was an illusion or what, but she thought he looked a bit like that Mr. Edwards.
The thought scared her and she shook her head, how could he look like that Mr. Edwards? How could he look like that Mr. Edwards? She must have been a bit confused by the shock she had received today. Bonnie watched her shaking her head and mumbling, she couldn't help but frown, "Mum, are you not feeling well?"
"I'm fine, you should hurry up and go to bed." Edwina nudged him.
Bonnie's brow locked tighter and she looked at her with even more suspicion, "It's only after nine and it's the weekend tomorrow."
"Right oh." It then occurred to Edwina that tomorrow was the weekend.
"Mum, can we go and play with Solomon and Sweety?" Bonnie asked cautiously.
Looking at him with anticipation, Edwina thought for a moment, "I'll call and ask your Aunt Eloise first, and then we'll ask Solomon and Sweety out if we can, okay?" Bonnie nodded heavily, "Okay."
...
Because Edgar had specifically told Eloise to stay out as much as possible during this time.
So when she received Edwina's call, she could only reluctantly refuse, "Edwina, sorry, I can't even go out during this period, so ..."
"That's okay, we'll make an appointment when you're free."
Despite what Edwina said, Eloise was still a bit upset, so she suggested, "Why don't you bring Bonnie over to the Khan family for a play date?"
There was a moment of silence on the phone before Edwina's voice rang again, "No, we'll meet again sometime."
Eloise frowned, "What's wrong?"
It seemed like she had a strong resistance to coming to the Khan family.
"Nothing, it's just that I think it's too intrusive for Aunt Brimlad and the others."
At that, Eloise couldn't help but laugh, "Edwina, my brother-in-law loves having guests over, you don't use your energy worrying about disturbing them." "Still no, we'll make an appointment later. I won't bother you, bye."
Before Eloise could respond, the phone hung up.
"What's going on here?" Eloise stared at the phone with a puzzled look on her face.
Brimlad came over and, seeing the scene, said curiously, "What's wrong with your phone?"
"No." Eloise put her phone down and turned her head to look at her, "Isn't your cousin back yet?"
"Birthday parties don't ever end that early." Brimlad glanced at his watch and grinned, "I can't wait for him to stay longer before he comes back."
Eloise raised her eyebrows, "Auntie, are you really going to let your cousin and Ainsley get married?"
"It wasn't my idea." Brimlad hurried to clear the air, "It was your brother-in-law's idea."
Brimlad sat down across from her and continued, "Although your cousin is firmly established in the Khan Group, there is no way those two cousins of yours are just going to give up, and for your cousin's sake, he must be given a wife who can help him out."
"So, you came up with the Boone Family?"
"The Boone Family would be perfect, and Ainsley and I are quite compatible." Brimlad couldn't hide his fondness at the mention of Ainsley.
Eloise frowned, "Aren't you afraid then that your cousin won't approve?"
"Since the old days, parents have been the matchmakers, how would he disagree?"
Eloise felt bad to hear such a concept in this day and age, "Auntie, when did you become so old-fashioned? It's a free love now."
If her cousin had heard this, he would have found it particularly thunderous.
Brimlad glared at her in disgust, "Free love is only possible if your cousin wants it. The problem now is that he doesn't have free love, so it's just a matter of parental choice."
The corner of Eloise's mouth twitched, "It can still be like that."
With her cousin's personality, there was no way he would listen to them, he would definitely rebel when the time came.
Before that happened, she had to hurry and persuade her cousin to replace a girlfriend, otherwise she would really have to marry Ainsley.
"By the way, who were you talking to on the phone?" Brimlad suddenly thought of it.
"Edwina."
"Edwina?" frowned Brimlad, "What did she want with you?"
"Nothing, just wanted to ask me to go out with Solomon and Sweety." Eloise answered truthfully.
"So." Brimlad nodded, "So did you say yes?"
Eloise smiled helplessly, "How can I say yes when I can't go out in the meantime?"
"Just as well." Brimlad thought about it and suddenly his eyes lit up, "Tell you what, I'll take Solomon and Sweety out, that way you don't have to go out and Solomon and Sweety can go out and play." "No, Auntie, that would be too much trouble for you."
Eloise really didn't want to cause her any more trouble.
"It's fine, it's just taking them out to play, it's not like they're doing anything, it's no trouble at all."
Brimlad was unusually insistent.
Eloise could only agree reluctantly, "All right. I'll have a word with Edwina."
She called Edwina in front of Brimlad and told Edwina the situation.
Edwina listened and was silent for a while before she spoke up, "Okay."
Eloise was worried that Edwina would say no, but was relieved to hear her say yes, "I'll see you tomorrow then." "See you tomorrow."
When she hangs up, Brimlad hurriedly asks, "Yes, right?"
Eloise smiled, "Well, yes."
Brimlad nodded, "That's good."
