Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1139: So, do you like him?
The next day.
Before leaving the house, Eloise uneasily explained to the two little ones, "You're not allowed to run around and don't make too much noise, okay?" "Mummy, we know, we'll be good and listen to Grandma and Uncle." Sweety reassured her in a baby voice.
"That's a good girl." Eloise stroked her head and turned to look at Solomon, "Where's Solomon?"
"I'll watch my sister and not let her wander off." Solomon said.
Eloise smiled in satisfaction then, "Solomon is awesome."
"They're both very obedient, don't worry." Brimlad looked at her helplessly.
Eloise smiled apologetically, "Auntie, it's been hard on you."
Brimlad gave her a feigned look of displeasure, "Don't talk like that as a family or I'll get angry."
"Good, you guys have a good trip and have fun."
Eloise smiled as she escorted them out the door and watched the car carrying them drive away before turning around and heading back to the house.
Across the road from the villa a black car was parked, the window on one side lowered and Lisa's eyes narrowed as she watched the figure turn to enter the house. "Eloise, I finally get to see you again."
Carl in the driver's seat looked back, "Ma'am, there's a lot of surveillance around this villa and there's someone guarding it, so it might not be a good idea for us to make a move." "Who said anything about doing it here?" Lisa withdrew her gaze and looked at him coldly.
Carl stared, "Didn't he?"
Lisa snorted, "Of course not. We'll do it when she's out the door."
Carl replied with a respectful "yes".
...
Edwina took Bonnie to the amusement park first and stood at the entrance waiting for Brimlad and the others.
"Mum, why can't Aunt Eloise come?" Bonnie asked, looking up at Edwina, puzzled.
Edwina turned her head to look at him and smiled, "Because Aunt Eloise had something to do, so she couldn't come." Bonnie said, "Oh," and muttered, "But I don't like that Grandma Brimlad."
Although he said it in a whisper, Edwina heard him.
She couldn't help but be surprised, "Why don't you like Grandma Brimlad?"
"Because ..." Bonnie bit her lip, looking like she wanted to say something but was afraid to.
Edwina squatted down, level with him, and said gently, "Bonnie, it's okay to tell mommy, she won't scold you."
"Because ... I get the feeling she doesn't like you." Bonnie lowered her head and clasped her hands together uneasily.
"She doesn't like me?" Edwina was even more taken aback as she rubbed his little head, "How can you tell? Mum doesn't even feel it."
"It just feels like it." Bonnie couldn't put her finger on it, it was just a child's intuition that told him that Grandma Brimlad didn't like his mother. "You're overthinking it. The Grandma Brimlad doesn't dislike me, she's nice to me and you saw that the other day, didn't you?" Bonnie nodded, "Hmm."
Edwina laughed, "That's right. Kids don't think about it, okay?"
"Got it."
It was about ten minutes later when Brimlad and the two children finally arrived.
"Mr. Bonnie," Sweety said as soon as she saw Bonnie, she immediately let go of Brimlad's hand and ran towards Bonnie.
"Sweety, you slow down." Brimlad could only shout as he chased after him.
As soon as Bonnie saw Sweety and Solomon, a big smile spread across her face.
"Hello Aunty." Edwina nodded politely at Brimlad.
"Edwina," Brimlad looked at her with a smile.
Edwina hurriedly nudged Bonnie, "Shout for Grandma Brimlad."
Bonnie obeyed and shouted, "Hello Grandma Brimlad."
"Hey, Bonnie."
Brimlad looked around and said cheerfully, "Thanks to you guys, I was able to come to the amusement park, I haven't been to a place like this for decades." "Auntie will be coming very often from now on." Edwina said.
"How so?" Brimlad looked at her in disbelief.
"When Mr Farabee gets married and has children, you will certainly be coming over here a lot with them."
Edwina's heart was a little squeamish at the mention of Edgar getting married and having children later.
Brimlad gave a look of realization, "You're right, I'll bring my grandchildren over more often."
Edwina smiled and said nothing more.
Once inside the amusement park, the three children were off the leash and wanted to play with everything they saw.
Brimlad and Edwina could barely keep their hands off them.
After a long morning of playing, the three children finally settled down at mealtime and followed the two adults to the restaurant for lunch.
While waiting for the food to be served, Brimlad suddenly said, "Edwina, what do you think of Edgar?"
Edwina was a little taken aback by this question.
She didn't know whether Brimlad was asking the question genuinely or whether he was just trying to test her.
Seeing her frozen silence, Brimlad couldn't help but smile, "I just asked, don't be nervous."
Edwina took a sip from her water before speaking carefully, "I think Mr Farabee is very good, very nice."
"That's for sure." Brimlad nodded approvingly, "So, do you like him?"
Edwina was shocked, thinking that she had read her mind, and kept waving her hands, "No, no, I don't like him."
Brimlad gazed deeply at her, "Why are you reacting so strongly?"
"Did I?" Edwina laughed dryly, "I just wanted to say that I don't like Mr Farabee."
"I thought you said Edgar was good and nice, how could you not like him?" Brimlad trailed off.
"It's just that..." Edwina didn't know how to answer for a moment.
Brimlad laughed, "Well, I'm just teasing you. If you don't like it, you don't like it, it's fine."
Edwina reluctantly tugged at the corners of her mouth, but something inside her felt wrong.
"Edgar is getting engaged soon and you'll have to come over to his engagement party then." Engaged?
He's getting engaged?
Looking at Brimlad, who was full of joy, Edwina could only try to suppress her sourness and keep the smile on her face, "Really? Congratulations, Auntie." "Thank you." Brimlad's smile curved his eyebrows, "Edgar's fiancée is a very kind and wonderful girl, you can get to know each other sometime." "Good."
Edwina lifted her glass, her eyes downcast to hide the disappointment in them.
Brimlad looked at her, the smile on his face fading a little and a hint of thoughtfulness.
"Auntie Granny, is brother-in-law getting married?" Sweety asked, looking up at her in a milky voice.
Brimlad looked down at her and raised his hand to stroke her head, smiling back, "Yes, you and your brother are going to have a baby aunt." "Oh." Sweety turned her head to look at Edwina with a twinkle in her eye, "But mummy says that little uncle has someone he likes."
At that, Brimlad was surprised, "Did your mummy really say that?"
Sweety nodded heavily, "Yes, mummy said so."
Brimlad frowned, "That's strange, how come Eloise hasn't mentioned it to me."
Out of the corner of her eye she caught a glimpse of Edwina across the room and her frown tightened.
