Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1142: Women who make things happen

Edwina, Edwina froze, and while holding Bonnie, she invited Edwards upstairs for a seat.

When they arrived home, Edwina poured a glass of water and put it on the table, "There's only plain water in the house, sorry." Edwards smiled, "It's okay, I'm not here for a drink."

Sitting down across from him, Edwina thought for a moment and asked, "What do you want to know?"

"I ..." Edwards hesitated for a moment, "I want to know if your sister had a good time before she passed away?"

"Not really." Edwina replied truthfully, "You could even say it was hard."

At that, Edwards' grip on the cup tightened involuntarily, "Can you tell me why?"

"Yes you can. But..." Edwina smiled apologetically, "I don't really want to bring up those bad days."

Those days were a very heavy memory for her.

She was afraid she wouldn't be able to stop herself from crying in front of him.

There was silence from both of them.

It was a long time before Edwards spoke, "I'm sorry, I really want to know how Constance is getting on, you don't have to tell me if it's making things difficult for you." Edwina pursed her lips and asked uncertainly, "Are you really just my sister's friend?"

Edwards froze, "Yeah, what's wrong?"

"Is it a very good kind of friend?"

"Hmm. A very good, very good friend."

When he said this, Edwards' voice was small, like a murmur, and his expression was a little rueful.

Edwina took a deep breath, "To be honest, I've never heard my sister mention you before, which is why I asked more."

"Did you?" A bitter smile tugged at the corners of Edwards' mouth.

Yeah, how could Constance have mentioned him?

She should have hated him.

"It's all in the past, actually, and there's nothing to talk about." Edwina was still reluctant to bring up that memory, "And I beg Mr. Edwards' pardon."

She didn't want to talk about it and Edwards didn't push her, "It's fine."

Edwards got up, "If I may, could you let me go and see your sister?"

Edwina smiled, "Of course."

Just then Bonnie came out of the room, "Mum, my pencil sharpener is broken."

Edwards eyes fell on Bonnie and his brow furrowed.

For some reason, he thought the child looked familiar, as if he had seen her somewhere before.

Bonnie noticed Edwards' gaze and looked up at him, grinning with a small pearly grin, "Hello, Uncle."

Just for a moment Edwards unconsciously shouted, "Constance ..."

Edwina heard him and turned her head to look at him, seeing him staring at Bonnie for an instant, she was shocked and hurriedly pulled Bonnie behind her. "Bonnie, you go to your room first, I have something else to say to this uncle."

"Oh."

Bonnie looked at Edwards before turning to go into the room.

Edwards watched straight on as Bonnie entered the room before withdrawing his gaze to look at Edwina, who smiled, "Bonnie is so much like your sister." Edwina's eyes drifted a little, "Of course he does, he's my sister's nephew."

Edwards didn't think too deeply about it, he smiled and said, "I'll leave you to it, I'm sorry to bother you."

"That's fine, you take care on your way."

Edwina hurriedly closed the door behind her as she walked him out the door and let out a long breath of relief as she leaned her back against it. Luckily he hadn't seen anything.

Ruffling her hair around her cheeks, she walked quickly into her room, pulled open the drawer of her bedside table and pulled out a diary.

It was open and there was a photograph in the middle of it.

The photo showed a man and a woman.

The woman is her sister, Constance.

The man was none other than Edwards.

The two were close together and her sister was smiling so sweetly that it wasn't hard to guess their relationship.

It was a sigh of relief to think that Edwards had told her that he and her sister were just good, good friends.

I wonder what happened to her sister and him back then.

Hopefully, her peaceful life with Bonnie won't be ruined.

...

When the plan failed, Lisa was so angry that she smashed everything she could in the room.

Carl stood by, not daring to breathe a word.

When Lisa had finished venting, Carl dared to come forward and carefully advised, "Madam, this time it failed, there will be another time, next time Eloise will definitely be given a taste of her own medicine." "Next time?" Lisa turned her head and shot him a stern gaze, "Do you think there will be a next time?"

A cold sweat broke out on Carl's forehead and he choked for a moment.

"This time it failed, Eloise and the others must be on guard, next time we'll have a hard time trying to move her."

That was why she was so angry.

This failure would be a complete failure.

Just the thought of that bitch Eloise still being alive and well made her belly full of fire.

"Ma'am, why don't I just sneak into the Khan family and kill the person." Carl suggested.

Lisa frowned, "Are you sure you can do that, the Khan family's security is so tight that not even a fly can get in."

"There's always something." Carl said, "If people aren't coming out, then let me in."

Lisa thought hard about the feasibility of this proposal.

"Ma'am, just trust me for once and I promise to get the job done." Carl reassured her again, fearing that she would not agree.

Lisa stared at him for a moment and finally nodded, "Okay, I'll give you one more chance, if you still fail this time, you'll be responsible for the consequences."

Carl bowed his head respectfully, "Yes!"

This time, no matter what, he was going to succeed.

...

Bergerian arrived in Kyoto and had only just entered the hotel when a subordinate came to report.

"Sir, Miss Eloise has been injured."

"Injured?" Bergerian turned his head and looked at the visitor suspiciously, "What do you mean she's injured?"

"It is said that someone drove a car to hit Miss Eloise and was saved in time, but was still injured." The subordinate gave him a full report of what he knew. "Who was it?" Bergerian asked.

"It's unclear at the moment."

Bergerian narrowed his eyes, "Find out! Find out for me exactly who is trying to hurt her!"

"Yes!"

The subordinate hurried away with the order.

Bergerian furrowed his eyebrows for a moment and then asked in a deep voice, "Matthew, are you sure that Madame and the others got on the plane?" Matthew, the assistant, replied, "Yes, I saw them get on the plane."

If it wasn't Lisa, who could have wanted to harm Eloise?

The more Bergerian thought about it, the worse it got, so he ordered, "Call back to Italy and see if Madame has really gone back."

"Yes." Matthew immediately dialed the number.

Bergerian grimaced, just in case Lisa hadn't gone back to Italy but followed him to the capital, then with her personality, she would never let Eloise go.

The thought of this made him clench his fists and grit his teeth. If he hadn't been afraid of the Agnelli Family's power, he would have wanted to get rid of that woman Lisa.

A woman who was too good to be true was useless to keep around.

At that moment, Matthew, who had finished his phone call, walked back to him and bowed his head in fear, "Sir, I'm sorry, it was my incompetence, Madame and the others did not return to Italy." Sure enough.

Bergerian laughed out, the smile not reaching his icy eyes, and gritted his teeth, "Lisa Agnelli, you're a real piece of work."
