Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1153: Don't tell me that you don't have a little selfishness

"I was going to ask if you were all set?" Eloise said.

"Ready, just waiting for the day." Edgar scowled slightly, "Whatever happens that day, the most important thing is that you protect yourself." Eloise smiled, "I know."

Edgar was silent for a few seconds, "You are desperate to know what happened to Hector, I understand that, but please also understand that Thomas and I, and my parents and your mother, and everyone in the Rogers family, we don't want to see anything happen to you again."

Eloise's eyes welled up and she nodded vigorously, "Cousin, don't worry guys, I won't be impulsive this time, I'll put my own safety first."

"You better mean what you say." Edgar reached out and rubbed her head.

"Of course I'll do what I say."

Actually, she understood without him saying it.

"Good luck with each other, then."

"Mmm."

The two smiled at each other.

They were both hoping for a good outcome that day.

...

The day passed calmly for two days and it was time for Eloise and Bergerian's appointment.

Before they left, Eloise went to the children's room and took Solomon and Sweety, who were having fun, in her arms and gave them each a heavy kiss on the forehead. "Solomon, Sweety, listen to your aunt and grandmother when Mummy is away, okay?"

Sweety looked up at her with innocence written all over her baby face, "Mommy, where are you going?"

"Mummy has to go out for something."

Eloise stroked Solomon's head and smiled, "Solomon, you're the big brother, you have to look after your sister, okay?"

Solomon nodded, "I know."

"That's a good boy."

Eloise stroked their heads again before releasing them and getting up, watching the two of them carefully build the blocks, her eyes brimming with tenderness. "Wait for me."

She said softly and turned to go downstairs to replace Brimlad.

Brimlad was busy in the kitchen and when he saw her enter, he smiled and said, "Eloise, I've made you some fish soup, remember to come and have it later." Looking at Brimlad's smiling face, she was overwhelmed with emotion.

Eloise went up to her, hugged her, buried her head in the crook of her neck and said in a muffled voice, "Auntie, thank you, thank you for taking such good care of me and being so kind to me." Brimlad lifted his hand and patted her back with a puzzled look on his face, "What's wrong with you? Why so melodramatic all of a sudden?"

Eloise lifted her hand to wipe the corners of her moist eyes, let her go and shook her head with a smile, "Nothing, I'm just touched all of a sudden."

Brimlad laughed helplessly, "Silly boy, it's only right that I be nice to you."

Eloise smiled and said nothing more.

"Go upstairs and rest, I'll call you down for your soup when it's ready."

"Auntie, I have to go out, I'll drink it when I get back.

"Go out?" Brimlad frowned, "Where are you going?"

Somehow she had a sudden bad feeling in her heart.

"To do some shopping, I'll be back soon."

Eloise finished, apologising silently in her mind: sorry, Auntie, I didn't mean to lie to you, I just didn't want you to worry.

"Oh." Brimlad didn't doubt it, "You'll be back early then."

"Good."

Eloise smiled at her and then said, "I'll be off then."

"Go on, get off your heart on the way."

"Mmm."

Eloise gave her a deep look before she turned to leave.

Watching her back, Brimlad wrinkled his brow, why did she always seem a little off?

...

Edgar and Thomas were waiting for her just outside the cottage and both greeted her as soon as they saw her come out.

"Are you ready?" Edgar asked softly.

Eloise gave a soft 'hmm', "Let's go."

Thomas hurriedly opened the car door and Eloise quickly got inside.

Closing the door behind them, Thomas and Edgar looked at each other, both looking serious, and nodded to each other before getting into the car.

The car drove out of the courtyard of the villa and headed for the place where they had arranged to meet Bergerian.

The three men in the car were all a bit heavy-hearted and no one spoke.

Bergerian and Matthew were about to leave the house when Lisa came running out of the room.

"Where are you going?" Lisa asked in a raised voice.

Bergerian kicked his feet up and replied without looking back, "Out to meet someone, just stay here, I'll be right back."

Lisa ran to stop him, narrowing her eyes at him, "To see who, Eloise?"

Bergerian frowned, "Lisa, do I have to check in with you about anyone I go to see?"

"If you're going to see someone else, no. But if it's to see Eloise, then yes!"

Her biggest fear was that he would sneak up on that bitch.

"Lisa, whoever I see, I don't have to report to you. I hope you understand that." Bergerian looked at her coldly, some displeasure evident on his handsome face.

Lisa was a little angry too, "Then I also expect you to remember that you are my husband and not to be unclear with other women."

"Lisa!" Bergerian was enraged by her words!

She raised her hand to straighten his tie and looked into his cold eyes, her mouth curving, "Bergerian, don't forget that you still need the Agnelli Family's help, so think before you do anything." "Everything you want, only I can give you. And that woman, no way."

Bergerian stared at her deadpan, his handsome face tense, the hands that fell to his side clenched into fists.

Even if he was resigned to it, she was indeed right.

Right now, he couldn't do without the Agnelli Family's help.

With Lisa's crazy personality, if she knew he was sneaking off to see Eloise, she would be unforgiving, even threatening her life.

Weighing the pros and cons, Bergerian chose to come clean.

"I was going to see Eloise."

At these words, Lisa's face paled and her emotions flared, "Bergerian, how dare you try to hide this from me again!"

If she hadn't been so vigilant, he would have gone to see that bitch secretly.

Bergerian looked calm, "I'm telling you now, aren't I?"

"You!" Lisa gritted her teeth and stifled her anger, the corners of her mouth curling into a sneer, "I don't suppose you'd be so frank if I hadn't mentioned the Agnelli Family." "Whatever you think."

Lisa stared at him for a moment before saying, "I'll go with you."

No matter what, she couldn't let him go to see that bitch alone.

Bergerian frowned, "Lisa, will you stop being so over the top? I'm going to see her on business, not personal business!"

"You're telling me you're going to see her for research, aren't you?"

Lisa snorted, "Bergerian, don't tell me that going to see her wasn't a bit personal for you."

Bergerian was silent.

"I'm going with you or I won't leave Eloise alone," Lisa threatened.

Finally, Bergerian compromised and had to take her with him to meet Eloise.
