Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1158: You're blaming yourself, aren't you?

Watching Thomas go out, Edgar only withdrew his eyes and looked at Eloise, "You go upstairs and rest, we'll take care of the rest." Eloise nods, "Yeah, okay."

Once she was upstairs, Rowson and Edgar were left alone.

"Thank you really for today." Edgar said, "If it wasn't for you, we might not have actually walked out of that restaurant."

Rowson smiled and didn't say anything.

Edgar thought about the fact that he had joined Bergerian's research team earlier and couldn't help but be a little worried, "I don't think Bergerian would have let you off the hook after what you did today." "Nothing." Rowson raised an eyebrow, "He can't touch me."

"Oh? How so?" Seeing how confident he seemed, Edgar couldn't help but be curious.

"I drugged the coffee he had today." Rowson said lightly, as if he was talking about something so uncommon.

Edgar was surprised, "Drugged?"

"Well, I'm the only one who has the antidote." Rowson's eyes narrowed slightly, a cold look in them, "He probably didn't even think he'd fall for someone else one day."

Bergerian was a man with a huge ego and would have been furious to know he had been drugged.

Edgar laughed, "In that case, Eloise is safe for now too."

"But we can't take it lightly."

"I know."

The two men were silent for a moment before Rowson spoke, "I'll leave you to it, contact me if there's anything."

Edgar nodded, "Good. You take care of yourself."

Rowson said, "Yeah," and turned to leave.

Edgar breathed a long sigh of relief as he turned his head to look upstairs, a look of concern on his handsome face.

Eloise must have been disappointed not to get Hector's whereabouts this time.

Although she was able to smile when she faced them, knowing her, it must have been hard on her.

The thought made him even more worried and he hurried upstairs.

...

Eloise returned to her room, walked straight to the edge of the bed and sat down, sighing heavily, her small, clear face unable to hide her disappointment.

She was afraid to show even a hint of disappointment for fear that her cousin and the others would worry.

Now that she was alone, there was no need to hide all her emotions.

Before she left, she had had high hopes that she would be able to replace out from Bergerian where Hector was, but in reality she hadn't found out anything, and had even almost got her cousin and the others into trouble. Suddenly, she felt useless, unable to do anything but cause trouble.

The tip of her nose turned sour and hot tears came to her eyes, and she raised her hand to cover her mouth, unable to hold back a low whimper.

"Knock, knock!"

A knock on the door suddenly sounded, followed by Edgar's concerned voice.

"Eloise, are you all right?"

Eloise sniffled hurriedly and raised her voice to say back, "I'm fine, don't you worry."

Her voice was clearly laced with tears.

Edgar frowned, "Eloise, don't think too much, although we've all been disappointed today, you have to trust everyone, we'll replace Hector as soon as we can."

"Cousin, I don't disbelieve you you guys, but..." Eloise bit her lip tightly to keep from crying out.

"Eloise, you're blaming yourself, aren't you?"

Eloise wiped her tears and didn't answer.

Edgar curled his lips and continued to advise, "You don't have to blame yourself or feel like you're causing us trouble, you're my cousin, the Miss Eloise that Thomas had to protect, and everything we did was as it should be." There was still silence on the other side of the door.

"Well, I won't disturb you, you get some rest."

Edgar looked deeply at the closed door of the room and turned to walk away.

There was silence outside the room, and Eloise could no longer hold back the sobs that were covering her face.

...

In the evening, Brimlad came home with her two children and wrinkled her brow when she saw Eloise sitting alone in the living room with sunglasses on her face.

"Eloise, what are you wearing sunglasses for at home?"

"My eyes are a bit irritated and swollen." Eloise smiled shyly.

"Inflammation?" Brimlad rushed forward to take off his sunglasses, "Let me see, is it serious?"

"It's not serious." Eloise dodged her hand, "It's just something dirty, it'll be fine tomorrow."

"So." Brimlad didn't doubt it either, "If it's serious, it's better to see a doctor."

Eloise nodded, "I know."

At that moment Sweety jumped into her arms, "Mummy, my aunt and grandmother took us to the park and I met some nice friends."

"Did you?" Eloise matched the look of surprise.

"Yes, me and my brother played with them for ages."

Eloise stroked her head and laughed, "Our Sweety is so cute, she's sure to make some good friends."

Sweety beamed, "But I still like Mr. Bonnie best. when will Mr. Bonnie come over to play again?"

"Do you want Mr. Bonnie to come?" Eloise asked instead of answering.

Sweety nodded, "Yes."

Eloise smiled, "Then call and talk to him yourself."

She pulled out her phone, found Edwina's number and dialed it.

It was soon picked up, "Miss. Eloise."

"Edwina, good evening. Are you off work now?"

Edwina stopped and looked up at the dark sky, the corners of her mouth curving up, "Off work, what's wrong?"

"At home?"

"No, still on my way back."

"Mummy, I'll speak to Aunt Edwina."

Sweety's voice came from the other side of the phone and Edwina couldn't help but ask curiously, "What does Sweety want to talk to me about?" "Aunty."

Hearing Sweety's cute little voice, Edwina felt her whole heart melting, and even her voice became gentle, "Aunty is listening."

"When are you going to bring Mr. Bonnie to my house to play?"

"Do you miss Mr. Bonnie?"

"Yes, I miss him a lot."

Edwina was amused by the many "misses", "When Mr. Bonnie finishes his exams, I will bring him to play with you, okay?" "Exam? How long will it take?"

"Soon."

"Then we have a deal, don't go back on it."

Edwina smiled, "No regrets."

At that moment, Eloise answered the phone, "Edwina, bring Bonnie to the house when you're free, we're always home." "Good."

"That's it then, take care on your way back."

"Bye."

After hanging up the phone, Edwina stood in place for a while before continuing on her way.

To be honest, she didn't really want to go to the Khan family; she could sense that Mrs. Brimlad didn't like her very much that time when she had gone to the amusement park with her. And she didn't want to see Edgar again either.

Because that was the only way to break off any thoughts she shouldn't have.

There were those who were destined to be looked up to, not up to.

"Miss. Edwina."

A familiar voice suddenly sounded behind her.

Edwina stopped and turned around, only to see Thomas looking at her with a gentle, light smile.
