Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1170: She's a vixen.
Eloise stayed in the hospital for a few days, and when her wounds had almost recovered, the doctor gave her permission to go home and recuperate. "Eloise, when you go back, call the maids to help you with anything, don't do it yourself, okay?" Hector's mother admonished her as she packed her things. Eloise smiled helplessly, "Mum, don't worry about that, I'm not a child anymore."
"You're still a child to me, Hector, Rupert and Aisly are all children." Hector's mother gave her a stern look.
Eloise smiled helplessly and didn't say anything else, but she felt very warm inside.
Since she had to look after Aisly, Hector's mother didn't accompany her home, but asked Thomas to give her a lift.
"I'll go home when Aisly goes to the moon centre." Hector's mother patted Eloise's hand.
Luckily Aisly was going to the moon centre tomorrow, otherwise she was really afraid that something might go wrong if she didn't take care of Eloise. "Mum, there are maids at home to look after me, so don't worry." Eloise said soothingly.
Hector's mother nodded, "Good, then call me when you get home."
"Mmm."
Hector's mother helped her into the car and gave her a few more reassuring words before closing the door behind her.
She watched the car drive away until it was out of sight, before Hector's mother turned and walked into the hospital building.
In the car, Eloise withdrew her gaze from the window, looked at Thomas in the driver's seat and asked, "Has Bergerian gone back to Italy?"
Thomas looked in the rear-view mirror and said truthfully, "No, but Lisa has gone back."
Eloise couldn't help but be relieved to hear that Lisa had gone back to Italy.
To be honest, as of now, Lisa was even scarier than Bergerian.
Bergerian just wanted to use her to complete his research, but Lisa really wanted her dead.
"Miss Eloise."
Eloise looked up, "What's wrong?"
Thomas rubbed his nose, "When are we going back to Kyoto?"
Eloise raised an eyebrow and teased with a smile, "Did you miss someone, why are you so anxious to get to Kyoto?"
"I'm not." A flash of discomfort crossed Thomas' face, "I was just asking."
"Just asking." The smile on Eloise's face grew even bigger.
"Miss Eloise, you just don't make jokes about me." Thomas was a little bemused.
Eloise laughed, turned the tables and said, "If you hadn't mentioned it, I'd forgotten that Edwina hadn't even called me." "Did she?" Thomas was slightly surprised.
He had expected Edwina to contact her, after all, he could see that Edwina really did consider Miss Eloise a good friend. "Well. No one's called me these days either, apart from my brother-in-law and my cousin."
And to hide her injury, she didn't even dare to video chat with her brother-in-law.
"She... is probably very busy." Thomas helped Edwina replace an excuse.
Eloise took a deep breath, "I guess."
She was more than a little lost when Edwina didn't contact her.
"She hasn't contacted you either?" Eloise asked.
Thomas froze, "Why would she contact me?"
Eloise lost her smile, "I thought you and she had been friends for a long time, it's normal for friends to contact each other."
At that, Thomas was silent for a few seconds before saying, "There are friends who don't contact each other."
"That's true." Eloise nodded.
Neither of them spoke again until they got back to the Rogers family.
...
Edwina was really busy these days, a colleague had taken time off to go home and she had to work all day for a few days in a row.
She couldn't even pick Bonnie up from school and had to ask a neighbour to bring her grandson back while she was picking him up. "Edwina, you're tired." The manager came over and was a little distressed to see Edwina resting against the wall.
As soon as Edwina saw the manager coming, she immediately stood up straight, "Manager, I'm not tired at all."
"When Elva comes back from her holiday, you take a few days off too." The manager said.
"Is that okay?" Edwina was a bit incredulous that the manager had offered to let her take a holiday.
The manager nodded, "Yes."
Edwina was instantly happy, "Thank you manager."
"No thanks, you deserve it. Go out and get busy."
"Okay."
As soon as Edwina stepped outside, she saw Edwards walk in.
She lifted her foot to greet him when she saw Elva behind him.
Pulling her foot back, she turned her back, intending to pretend she hadn't seen it and let the others go to greet it.
"Edwina, what are you doing when you have a visitor?"
With this cry from a colleague, Edwina couldn't avoid it if she wanted to, so she had to go up.
"Welcome, how many people, please?" She had the polite smile on her face that a waitress should have.
"It's you!" Elva's face immediately pulled down as soon as she saw her.
Edwina nodded her head, "Hello, Miss. Ainsley."
Elva gave her a blank look and said in a contemptuous tone, "How can you be nice when the sight of you turns your stomach?"
The smile on Edwina's face froze for a moment and she quickly recovered, "If Miss. Ainsley doesn't like me, then I'll have someone else come over." With that, she was about to turn and go call someone.
"Wait." Edwards took her hand.
Seeing this, Elva was startled, "Brother, what are you doing?"
"Edwina is my friend and I won't allow you to talk about her like that." Edwards looked at her with a serious face.
"Brother!" Elva wondered when this bitch had even become his friend.
"Okay." Edwards gave her a warning glare and she wrapped her arms around her chest reluctantly, her hostile gaze fixed on Edwina. Edwina was tempted to say to Edwards that he hadn't actually helped her by doing this, but had made Elva hate her even more. "Edwina, my sister has always been tongue-tied, don't get on her bad side." Edwards said cautiously.
Edwina drew her hand back and returned a smile, "It's fine, I don't care."
Edwards looked around, "You work here?"
"Yeah." Edwina didn't want to say anything more to him, "Please follow me."
She led them to a window seat and made the 'please' gesture, "Have a seat."
Once they were seated, she handed them the menu, "Have a look around and call me if you need anything."
She smiled, then turned and walked away.
Elva turned her head and looked at Edwards with displeasure, "Brother, how can you have someone like that as a friend?"
"What kind of person?" Edwards furrowed his brow, looking distinctly displeased.
"Do you know what she's done?"
"What?"
"She's a vixen, deliberately approaching Edgar and trying to seduce him." At the very mention of it, Elva gritted her teeth, wanting to rush over and slap Edwina a few times. Edwards' brow locked tighter, "Are you mistaken, Edwina is not like that?"
"How did I misunderstand? I saw it with my own eyes."
Edwards was silent.
Elva hurriedly continued, "Brother, I'm your sister, how could I possibly lie to you?"
"I still don't believe it." Edwards smiled, "The Edwina I know is not what you say she is, she has a hard time with the baby all by herself ..."
"A child?" Elva thought she had heard wrong, "You said she had a child?"
