Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1171: Fire her!

Edwards' brow furrowed imperceptibly at the thought of Bonnie's face, which resembled Constance's.

"Brother, what are you thinking about? I'm asking you something." Elva yelled impatiently as she didn't wait for his answer. Edwards nodded back down, "Well, she's having a baby."

Elva laughed, a hint of sarcasm mixed in with her smile, "I can't believe she's a single mother."

That alone made that woman a loser, a complete and utter loser.

Thinking about it, Elva was suddenly in a much more relaxed mood.

"Okay, enough about her. What do you want to eat to hurry up and order?" Edwards pushed the menu in front of her.

Elva looked down at the menu and ordered two random dishes.

She said again, "Brother, I advise you to stay away from that woman, she already has a child at such a young age, she is definitely not the peaceful type of woman." Edwards' brow knitted up and he whispered, "Elva, stop it, it's not nice to talk about people behind their backs like that."

Elva snorted disdainfully, "If she dares to do it, what does she fear from others?"

At that moment, Edwina brought a jug of lemonade, "Would you two guests like to eat something?"

"Okay." Edwards handed her the ticked off menu.

"The food will be ready to be served shortly, so please be patient."

Edwina took it and turned to the counter to place her order.

"Edwina," her colleague came over and bumped her back gently.

Edwina, Edwina frowned, "What's wrong?"

"Who's that girl? Why do I feel like she's looking at you as if she's looking at an enemy."

The colleague was gossiping again.

Edwina lost her menu and turned her head to give her a good-natured look, "If you put this mind on your work, you wouldn't be scolded by the manager every day." "But I'm curious."

"Curious?" Edwina raised an eyebrow, "Why don't you come and serve them later?"

"Huh?" The colleague didn't respond for a moment.

"Please." Edwina tucked the menu into her arms and headed for the back of the kitchen with a happy ease.

She wished she could stay away from the Boone Family siblings, the unease growing inside her as soon as she met them.

...

But it was not to be. Even when she tried to avoid the siblings, there were those who would not leave her alone.

She was in the back kitchen waiting for her customers' dishes when a colleague suddenly rushed in and shouted, "Edwina, someone has asked you by name to come over."

She didn't need to ask, she knew who it was.

She stepped outside, gazed at Elva and Edwards not far away, took a deep breath and walked over.

"Can I help you with something?"

At the sound of her voice, Elva looked up, her delicate eyebrows wrinkling, "Hey, didn't I say it tasted lighter? Why is the food still so salty? I've had a few glasses of water in a row, are you trying to salty me to death?" "I'm sorry, it was an oversight on my part, I didn't make a clear note." Edwina had no desire to argue and apologised straight away.

She hoped that if she was nicer, Elva would leave her alone.

But apparently Elva wasn't going to let her off that easy.

"A sorry from you and that's it?" Elva sneered, "The customer is God, do you understand? I'm upset right now because of your negligence at work! Tell me, what's it going to take to fix it?"

"That's enough Elva, don't make a fuss over nothing!" Edwards said disgruntled as he raised his eyes to Edwina, "Edwina, you don't have to worry about her, go and get busy."

His voice was just different from when he spoke to Elva, it had become gentle.

"Brother!" Elva yelled in displeasure, ignoring the other customers in the shop, "I'm your sister, why are you speaking for an outsider?"

"She's not an outsider, she's my friend." Edwards looked at her with a serious expression.

"Friend?" Elva looked Edwina up and down with contempt in her eyes, "I don't know what kind of dirty tricks she uses to become your friend!"

At that, Edwina clenched her hand, "Miss Ainsley, please show some respect!"

"What? Did I say something wrong?"

Elva stood up and put her arms around her chest, raising her chin arrogantly, her tone even more disdainful, "How can you, a single mother, afford my brother? It's obvious that you've used unseemly means!" "Elva, you're going too far!" Edwards was furious.

Elva turned her head to look at him, "Brother, she's not a good person, she's a ... vixen. She's trying to seduce Edgar and she's trying to seduce you!"

"Miss. Ainsley!" said Edwina, shaking with anger, "You're slandering me!"

"I'm slandering you?" Elva laughed out loud as if she had heard a big joke, "Edwina, Edwina, I saw it with my own eyes, I'm not slandering you."

Edwina's face tightened and her hands clenched into fists at her side, she wanted to slap her face if she didn't want to make a scene.

But despite this, the manager and the other colleagues came over, and even the other customers looked over.

"What's going on?" The manager came over, looked at Edwards and the others, then looked at Edwina and asked in a stern voice.

Edwina lowered her head, "Manager, it was an oversight on my part to not make a clear note of the guests' requests, and that's what made them unhappy with the service in our restaurant."

"So that's what happened." The manager turned around and bent down towards Elva and the others, "I'm sorry, I didn't teach the waiters well enough for this oversight to happen, this meal is free today as a token of our restaurant's apology." "The manager ..." Edwina looked at the manager incredulously, she had taken the blame for her mistake.

Elva grunted, "Do you think we can't afford to pay for this?"

The manager shook her head, "Of course not, I just wanted to express our apologies for the restaurant."

"Since you want to express your apologies, fire her." Elva pointed at Edwina.

Edwina's eyes widened in surprise, "Miss. Ainsley, you..."

Edwards frowned hard, "Elva, what are you talking about?"

"I was happy to come to dinner with my brother today, but one oversight on her part has put me in a terrible mood for the whole meal."

Elva stared deadpan at Edwina, "That's why you have to fire her, otherwise you won't be able to meet a customer as forgiving as me in the future." Forgiving?

Edwina really wanted to laugh, there was nothing more funny than a person who had been so aggressive towards her calling herself tolerant.

"Elva, don't be ridiculous!" Edwards scolded angrily, "It's just a salty dish, you can just drink more water, why bother with Edwina!"

"Brother, I'm a sister, don't speak for that woman every time."

This was what Elva was most angry about.

Edgar was even better, how come even her brother treated this woman Edwina so differently.
