Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1173: He's already in love with me
"Rawlins, why are you taking him outside!"
Rawlins was on the phone when the door to the room was suddenly pushed in from outside.
It was Earlene.
She strode up to him angrily, anger all over her small, delicately made-up face, her eyes glaring at him with venom and heat.
"I'll contact you later."
Rawlins hung up the phone and looked at her with a smirk, "He's been cooped up in the house, what's wrong with me taking him out for some air?"
"Of course it's not right!" Earlene gritted her teeth in hatred, "Don't think I don't know what you're up to. I'm warning you, if he's found out, I'm not finished with you."
Rawlins saw the ruthlessness in her eyes and a sudden wave of powerlessness hit him, he lowered his head and pulled the corners of his lips up, "Earlene, do you really think you're doing the right thing?" Earlene was silent.
Rawlins took a deep breath, "Turn back sooner, will you?"
"It's not your turn to be in my business, if you're here to see me I welcome you, but if you're here to educate me, then please leave."
Earlene didn't want the happiness she had now to be ruined.
"Earlene, he doesn't love you, even if you hide him for the rest of your life, he still doesn't love you." Rawlins emotions couldn't help but flare up.
He really didn't understand why she was forcing a love that wasn't hers.
And it hurt someone else.
"He loves me, he loves me!" Earlene got excited too, "I'm telling you, he's in love with me!"
Rawlins laughed out loud, a sarcastic laugh, "Earlene, you're silly, really silly. He's not even the same Hector now, he doesn't have a mind of his own anymore, do you really love Hector like that?" His words were undoubtedly like a sharp knife in a sore spot that she had been afraid to touch.
"I love, I love!" Earlene shouted as loudly as if that convinced herself.
Rawlins looked at her in hysterics and was silent for a few seconds before he spoke, "Fine, just believe it yourself."
There was no point in talking about it, just to see how long she was going to lie to herself.
Rawlins put the phone down on the table, glanced at her and asked out loud, "When are you coming home? Grandma misses you."
"I can't go back for a while."
"Can't go back?" Rawlins thought she had heard wrong, "You can't go back, or you don't want to go back?"
"What's the situation with Grandma now?" Earlene asked instead of answering.
"Not very promising."
At the mention of the old lady, Rawlins' expression was noticeably heavier, "The doctor says if we don't have surgery, we'll only have three months at most." "You're not lying to me, are you?" Earlene didn't quite take his word for it.
She had made it a point to see the old lady before she left the country, and she was clearly still in good health and good spirits, so how could her body have collapsed in such a short period of time. "Why would I lie to you? And still lie to you about Grandma's health." Rawlins thought she was really ridiculous.
It was also true that she hadn't trusted him since she was a child.
"Trick me back." Earlene said, "I'll have someone look into it, and if it's true, I'll bring the old lady to J for treatment."
The implication was that she wouldn't be going back to Kyoto.
"Are you crazy?" Rawlins took a deep breath, suppressing the anger in her heart, and continued, "Grandma can't afford to be tossed around, if you bring her to J, it's clear that you're taking her life." "I'm not going back." Earlene's attitude was firm.
"You!" Rawlins was so angry that he didn't know what to say.
"I'm not going back to Kyoto, I'll send someone back to see Grandma."
She said this with an expressionless face, as if the old lady was just a stranger and had nothing to do with her.
Rawlins instantly stopped being angry, and he smiled to himself, "Whatever you want to do. I hope you don't regret it later."
He turned around, "Earlene, you always used to say I wasn't a Bartram family man, but compared to you, I guess I'm more of a Bartram family man than you are."
She had been so cold to him before, and he had thought it was only to him that she was so cold, but he hadn't realised that she was the same to the old lady.
Earlene looked at his broad back and for a moment it was as if she had been taken back to when she was a child and he had carried her on his back.
A difficult emotion came over her and she hurriedly turned her head to the side, closed her eyes, took a deep breath and spoke slowly, "Grandma is counting on you." The word "please" infuriated Rawlins.
He turned around and shouted, "Earlene, do you have a conscience? She's your grandmother, and you're just going to ignore her?"
Earlene was stunned by his sudden anger and looked at him blankly, as if she had no idea what he was so angry about.
The feeling of powerlessness overwhelmed him and Rawlins laughed, his eyes reddening as he tilted his head and forced back the tears.
"Earlene, you don't even want the Bartram family for a man, you're a good one."
The husky voice was laced with a hint of sarcasm.
"Think what you will. From now on, if you don't have anything to do, don't come running here, I don't want to see you again."
With that statement, Earlene turned to leave.
Rawlins closed his eyes, the hands that fell to his side clenched into fists.
What the hell was he going to do to change her mind?
...
When Edgar arrived at City J, he went straight to the Rogers family.
It was the butler who opened the door and was surprised to see him, "You are here, cousin prince."
Edgar smiled and Edwina nodded, "Well. is Eloise at home?"
"Miss Eloise is, but she is still napping at this hour. Wait in the living room, she'll be downstairs when she wakes up."
"Thanks."
Edgar was led by the butler to the living room and sat down.
He looked around, "Isn't anyone else home?"
"Mrs Rupert has just had her baby and has gone to the menstrual centre, Madame is accompanying her and will not be back until the evening."
Edgar nodded, "Good, I see."
After about twenty minutes or so, Eloise came downstairs.
She yawned as she walked, but out of the corner of her eye she suddenly caught a glimpse of a figure sitting in the living room and, fixing her eyes on it, exclaimed in surprise, "Cousin!"
At the sound of her voice, Edgar turned his head just in time to see Eloise running towards him.
He hurriedly stood up, "Eloise."
"What brings you here?" Eloise looked at him with surprise.
"Came to see you and also have some good news for you."
Eloise frowned, "What good news?"
Suddenly, something occurred to her and she asked, wide-eyed and in disbelief, "Could it be that there's news from Hector?"
Edgar smiled, "Well, there's news from Hector."
Eloise's eyes instantly went red and she bit her lip, "You ... aren't lying to me are you?"
She was afraid it was a lie, just something he had casually said to reassure her.
Edgar shook his head, "I'm not lying to you, it's true."
