Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1178: He can only belong to her in this life
After Eloise and the others had left, Rawlins sat in the living room for a long time before getting up and going upstairs. Walking into the study, he took out his mobile phone and called Earlene, who was far away in J.
As soon as he got through, he said, "Grandma is dying, so if you still think she's your family, come back and see her."
After saying that, without waiting for a response from the other side, he simply hung up the phone.
Clutching the phone tightly in his hand, his eyes Edwina narrowed, revealing a glimmer of determination.
This time, no matter what, she had to be allowed to return to Kyoto.
...
Earlene took the phone off, her thin eyebrows furrowed fiercely.
"What's wrong?" Blythe Bartram saw that her whole mood seemed lowered after answering the phone, and hastened to ask with concern. Earlene shook her head, "Nothing."
"Really?" Blythe didn't believe her.
Because the look on her face just didn't look like she was fine.
"Dad." Earlene bit her lip, "I want to go back to Kyoto."
"Back to Kyoto?" Blythe frowned, "Why do you want to go back all of a sudden?"
"You know how my grandmother's health is, and I need to go back to see her."
And this time Rawlins seemed really angry, it seemed that Grandma was in a really bad way.
"Aren't you going to send someone back to see?" Blythe asked.
He had persuaded her to go back to see the old man before, but she had refused to do so.
But this time, she had taken the initiative to go back, which really surprised him.
"Dad, that's my grandmother, so it would be wrong if I didn't go back myself."
Even if she still had some resentment in her heart towards her grandmother, it would not change the blood relationship between them. She didn't want to leave herself with a regret.
Blythe smiled, "Go back, then. Your grandmother will be so happy to see you."
Earlene smiled and said nothing more.
Something suddenly occurred to Blythe, "So what about Hector when you go back?" "He..." Earlene thought for a moment, "Dad, could I trouble you to look after him?" "Me?" Blythe was taken aback, "Did you say that wrong?"
"No. The person I trust most now is you."
If he hadn't saved her life, she would have died on the streets of a foreign country.
He had treated her like his own daughter all these years, so when she had left Italy with Hector, she had come straight to him without thinking.
"I'm glad you trust me so much, but..." Blythe sighed, "but I can't help you with Hector."
"Why?" Earlene asked, puzzled.
"Hector he needs you, not me. And do you think he can afford to leave you?"
As he said that, Earlene realised it wasn't as simple as she had thought.
"Then what?" She didn't want to take Hector back to Kyoto, in case the Rogers family and the Khan family found out, then she would have to part with him. She would never allow that to happen.
Blythe saw her worry and smiled, "Why don't I send a few more people back with you so you don't have to worry about Hector."
Earlene thought hard about it and decided not to go back.
"Forget it, I won't go back."
"Why are you changing your mind so quickly, you kid?" Blythe shook her head and sighed, "You'll regret it for the rest of your life if you don't go back this time." Earlene didn't make a sound.
Blythe continued, "That's your own grandmother, even if she didn't do the right thing in the past, she truly loved you, are you really not going to go back and see her one last time?" His words were like a big stone weighing down on her heart, smothering it.
She didn't know how good her grandmother had been to her, but she was afraid that she would be separated from Hector if she went back this time.
It was a moment when she suddenly realised that juggling love and affection was so hard.
"Go back, child."
Blythe really didn't want her to have any regrets.
Earlene took a deep breath, "Okay, I'll go back. Dad, just as you said, send more people back with me."
Blythe smiled and nodded, "Okay, I'll make the arrangements."
"Thank you, Dad."
"Silly boy, no need to be so polite with me."
Blythe smiled at her and then turned to leave.
Earlene sat for a few moments before getting up and going upstairs.
She opened the door to her room and looked over at the sleeping man on the bed, a hint of tenderness in her eyes.
It had been so hard to get him to come to her, and no matter what, she would not give him back to Eloise.
He would only belong to her for the rest of his life.
...
The next day, Edgar received a call from Rawlins.
"Earlene will be back in Kyoto in a few days, so get yourselves ready."
At the news, Edgar stood up with excitement, "You mean it?"
"Well, she called me and said she would be back."
The Rawlins hadn't actually expected Earlene to change her mind, but either way, it was good for him for the Rogers family. "Thank you."
After hanging up the phone, Edgar thought about it and decided to go home and tell Eloise the good news in person.
He grabbed his suit jacket and headed out, just as there was a knock at the door.
It was Ivor.
"President, there's a Miss. Ainsley here to see you."
Edgar frowned, Miss Ainsley, Elva?
He opened the door, startling Ivor, who was standing outside the door.
"President, what are you ... doing?"
"Tell her I'm not in." Edgar said.
Ivor scowled, "Yes."
"I have to leave work first, contact me again if there is any emergency."
"Aye."
He watched him enter the president's exclusive lift before Ivor headed for the parlour.
Pushing the door in, Elva, who had been sitting, immediately stood up, "Did Edgar send you over to take me to him?"
"Miss. Ainsley, sorry, our president is not in at the moment." Ivor, Edwina said apologetically as she bent over.
"Not in?" Elva's small face sank, "It's not even closing time, why isn't he here?"
"The president is out on an emergency. If Miss. Ainsley really wants to see the president, she can make an appointment another time."
"An emergency?" Elva wrapped her arms around her chest and sneered, "He doesn't want to see me, does he?"
Ivor didn't say anything.
Elva took a deep breath, "Fine, he wants to avoid me, then I'll go see him myself."
With that, she pushed Ivor out of the way with a huff.
Ivor hurried to catch up with her.
"Miss. Ainsley, this is the president's office, you can't barge in."
Ivor tried to stop her.
"Get out of the way!" Elva pushed him out of the way and headed straight for the president's office with a stern face.
Ivor was pushed back and stumbled a few steps before he was able to stand.
Elva pushed open the office door and rushed in.
What she didn't expect was that Edgar really wasn't there.
She looked around, ran to the bathroom and the lounge again to make sure no one was there, and bit her lip in exasperation.
Ivor came to her side, lost his smile and said carefully, "Miss. Ainsley, I have told you that the president he is not in." "Where did he go?" Elva asked.
"Home."
Elva took a deep breath, "Well, I'll come back another time then."
She turned and strutted away.
Ivor raised a hand to wipe the sweat from his forehead and sighed a big sigh, this Miss. Ainsley was too angry.
