Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1182: As long as he loves you, you're a winner
Katerina went to the Institute, walked to the lab door and was about to push the door in when it suddenly opened. It was George.
He was startled to see Katerina, "What are you doing here?"
Katerina's eyes flickered, "I came to see."
"Oh." George nodded, then gave a curt smile and asked, "Since you're here, would you like to join us for dinner tonight?"
"On you?"
George raised his chin, "Of course, there's no such thing as making a lady pay."
KaterinaEdwina smiled, "Alright then."
Seeing her agree George was instantly excited, "Wait for me then, I'll go in and I'll speak to my teacher."
He turned and went into the lab, forgetting to close the door.
Katerina looked inside and saw Professor Curry, his back to her, his hands busy with something.
George finished talking to Professor Curry and ran out, the door slamming shut, blocking Castle Katerina's view.
Katerina looked slightly pensive.
"Let's go." George didn't notice that something was wrong with her and said with a smile.
Katerina left after him, during which she glanced back at the closed door of the lab.
...
George led her to a restaurant near the Institute.
"Order whatever you want." George placed the menu in front of her, very generously.
Katerina maintained a faint smile at the corners of her mouth, "Thank you."
She had only agreed to George's invitation because she wanted to get the latest research progress from him, the meal was secondary. So, just a casual order of steak.
She picked up the water on the table and took a sip, pretending to speak without thinking, "You guys have been working hard lately, haven't you?" "Not really. It's just that the medicine hasn't been tested on people yet, so I don't know if it's really effective against the virus."
"Mr Bergerian has gone to catch Eloise himself, I'm sure it's quite capable of being tested."
Katerina put her glass down and turned her head to look around, the corners of her mouth curving up, "This restaurant isn't bad." George stared at her for a moment, "As long as you like it."
Katerina smiled at him, "I like it a lot."
George's heart melted at the sight of her smiling at him and he could no longer hide his admiration for her.
"Katerina, if you don't mind, I'll always invite you to this restaurant in the future."
"Thank you."
She didn't refuse.
In all the time he'd known her, she'd always been cold to him, but she'd been all over that Rowson, and he'd been jealous for a while. That was why he liked to pick on Rowson.
But now that he saw that she was no longer cold to him, he was relieved.
Rowson didn't matter anymore.
During the meal, George racked his brains for jokes, fearing that it would be awkward if the atmosphere was quiet.
He was particularly pleased that he managed to make Katerina laugh at every one of them.
After the meal, the bill was settled and they walked out of the restaurant together.
Katerina stopped and turned around, smiling Brimlad, "Thank you, George, I had a good time."
"That's good." George breathed a long sigh of relief as he looked at her, his eyes flickering, and asked tentatively, "Shall we walk again?" "No, I've got unfinished business on my hands, some other time."
This time Katerina declined.
George was a little disappointed but didn't push her, after all, she had just had dinner with him.
"I'll take you home." George said.
Katerina nodded, "Yes, please."
"It's no trouble at all, you don't have to be polite with me." George smiled at her and ran to drive over.
As soon as he left, the smile on Katerina's face instantly narrowed.
With George, it should be a lot easier for her to get into Professor Curry's lab.
...
Meanwhile, Kyoto.
Edgar, Eloise and Thomas, were in the study discussing what to do to save Hector.
"I think as soon as the prince appears, our men will go up and rescue him." Thomas suggested.
Eloise frowned, "Wouldn't that be too much, Earlene is very cautious, I'm afraid she has someone watching Hector too, there's bound to be a clash."
Edgar pondered for a moment, "Actually, I have another concern."
Eloise and Thomas turned their heads to look at him.
He said in a hushed voice, "I'm just afraid that when it comes down to it, it will be against the Yamaguchi Gang, and then there will definitely be a lot of trouble behind it." When he said that, Eloise couldn't help but worry too, "If that's the case, it would be really bad for us."
Thomas didn't worry as much as they did, "The most important thing for us is to get the prince back, and we'll figure out the rest."
"That's true." Eloise nodded approvingly, she turned her head to Edgar, "Cousin, don't worry about that, let's replace a way to get Hector out first."
Edgar lost his smile, "Isn't that what we're trying to do? But we're going to need Rawlins help with that."
"Will he help?" Thomas asked doubtfully.
"Will. He wants Hector back in the Rogers family more than we do."
Eloise took a deep breath, "Whether he helps or not, we've got to get Hector back this time."
"Miss Eloise is right, make sure you get the prince back." Thomas clenched his fists and looked extraordinarily determined.
In the end, they decided to implement Thomas' idea and go up and grab Hector as soon as they saw him.
Even if the two sides clashed, they could not back down.
...
The day before they were due to return to Kyoto, Earlene suddenly reversed herself.
She didn't want to go back to Kyoto.
She hadn't slept well for days because of the growing uneasiness in her heart.
Every time, she had the same dream, that Hector would return to Eloise's side.
It was her greatest fear that this would happen.
And it was something that could happen whenever she went back to Kyoto.
Seeing Earlene standing on the balcony, Blythe walked over and said with concern, "What's wrong?"
At the sound of her voice, Earlene turned around in a hurry, "Dad."
Her face didn't look very good and Blythe asked, "Are you a little upset about going back to Kyoto tomorrow?"
Earlene nodded.
Blythe smiled, "You're a child who likes to think too much. You just need to relax and you'll see that things aren't as bad as you think."
"But Dad, I'm really upset and I can't quiet my mind at all." Earlene turned her head to look away, the corners of her mouth curling in self-deprecation, "Maybe it's because I stole happiness that I'm so restless." "Don't say that." Blythe patted her on the back, "No one can say anything about feelings. As long as Hector loves you now, then you're a winner."
"He loves me?" Earlene laughed bitterly, "Dad, he's forgetting the past, and if he remembers one day, he'll hate me."
"Then don't let him think about it." Blythe raised an eyebrow at her, "Just erase his past completely, all he'll remember is you."
Yeah, let him forget completely wouldn't that be good.
Even back with Eloise, he wouldn't be the same Hector as before.
Earlene smiled, "Dad, I know what to do."
