Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1191: Or would you be afraid of me?
"The police were called." Devona said, "But the police said that the surveillance at the place of the incident had been tampered with and that they might not be able to catch anyone." "How could that be?" Brimlad frowned hard, "Who the hell has this Goode offended?"
Silvia had another comment and was about to retort when Devona beat her to the punch, "Goode has been a lot more reserved since he got married and rarely hangs out with his friends, so I don't know who it is for a while." A lot more restrained?
Ironic, really.
If Goode knew how to control himself, Figge wouldn't have made a scene, and he wouldn't have been beaten into miscarriage.
"Let me be frank, Cousin Goode is where he is today because of his own doing." Eloise still couldn't hold her breath and voiced out her true thoughts.
Silvia was furious, "Eloise, what do you mean by that?"
"Literally." Eloise turned her head and looked at her expressionlessly, "Auntie, don't you think you're responsible for what has happened to Cousin Goode?"
"Eloise, don't say that." Brimlad hadn't expected her to speak so bluntly and was so shocked that he hurriedly whispered to her.
This was not going to be easy to deal with when it pissed Devona and the others off.
"Aunt-in-law, I'm telling the truth, what can't I say." Eloise looked at Brimlad with some amusement.
It seemed to her that the truth should be told so that her second uncle and the others would know how bad Goode was.
"Eloise, is this how you treat your elders? Is that what your mother taught you? There's no family upbringing at all!" Silvia snorted coldly.
"Second aunt, what's that got to do with my mother?" Eloise glared at her with a cold gaze, "Even if I have no family upbringing, I wouldn't be like Goode who casually plays with women, gets someone pregnant and doesn't take responsibility for it, and even beats his wife and causes her to miscarry. Is it fair to say that you and your second uncle have failed in your education?"
Eloise disliked him directly without mercy, making the Devona couple blush with anger.
"That's enough, Eloise," Brimlad could only reprimand in a low voice, fearing that the scene would turn ugly.
Eloise took a deep breath, "Fine, I won't say anything. But Second Aunt must apologise."
"Is this day against us?" Silvia shouted in a shrill voice, "I have to apologise? What am I going to apologise for?"
"Think about what you've said. Who are you to accuse my mother of anything?" Eloise stared at her with a frosty look on her pretty little face.
"I... said it off the top of my head." Silvia averted her eyes sheepishly.
"Off the cuff?" Eloise sneered out, "Second Aunt, you have a very casual mouth!"
"What are you talking about?" Silvia was furious and raised her hand to hit her.
Fortunately, Brimlad was quick to stop her hand and shouted, "Shut up! Isn't it messy enough?"
Silvia withdrew her hand and hated it, "You think having the Rogers family as your backers makes you a big deal?"
Eloise laughed, "Yes it does, otherwise you would be afraid of me?"
"Eloise!" shouted Silvia in exasperation.
"Alright Eloise, cut the crap." Brimlad glared at Eloise, gesturing for her to stop talking.
Eloise took a deep breath, "Auntie, it's stuffy in here, I'll wait outside."
After saying that, without waiting for Brimlad to say anything, she strides out.
As soon as she left, Silvia immediately complained, "Look at this! I'm still her second aunt, but I'm not even taken into account. If outsiders saw this, they would say that the Khan family has no family values at all." "Don't be angry, Eloise is like that, don't take it personally." Brimlad spoke kindly, but sighed in his heart.
"How can I not take it personally when she talks so harshly?" Silvia was still indignant.
"So what are you going to do?" Brimlad asked, "Slap her around or something?"
"I..." Silvia stammered.
She wouldn't dare to do it to Eloise if she had the guts!
"Come on, the kid doesn't know any better, so don't be so mean to her." Devona said in a persuasive voice.
Silvia frowned, "Devona, are you speaking up for Eloise? She's talking about us like that and you're okay with it?"
"Like my sister-in-law said, what else can we do?" Devona asked her rhetorically, reminding her again, "The most important thing right now is Goode!"
"Yeah, what's important about Goode is most important." Brimlad chimed in.
Silvia then stifled her anger, "I'm really mad at that girl, I'd almost forgotten about Goode."
"Now that the police have been called, let's wait to hear from them." Brimlad said.
"When we catch the people who hit Goode, I won't let them off the hook." Silvia said through gritted teeth.
Brimlad frowned at this, "Second sister-in-law, leave this to the police, you can't do it yourself or you'll be knowing the law."
"How could I ...?" Silvia had a bit of weakness, "I just want to educate them properly."
"If that's all it is, that's more than fine."
Brimlad turned his head to Goode in the hospital bed and shook his head with a sigh, "If the boy had been more peaceful, he wouldn't have ended up in this situation." Silvia opened her mouth to retort, but Devona pulled her back.
"Come on, cut the crap." Devona reprimanded in a small voice.
Silvia knew that Brimlad could not afford to be offended now, so she shut her mouth.
But in her heart she was still not happy.
Even if her son was a bastard, he was still her son and there was no room for anyone to say otherwise.
"How's it going with Figge?" Brimlad asked suddenly.
"How can it be? Just rest for a while." Silvia sounded as if Figge was not a member of the Khan family.
Brimlad couldn't help but frown, "Second sister-in-law, that's your daughter-in-law, can't you care a little more about her?"
"Daughter-in-law?" Silvia grunted, "Goode married her because of the child in her belly, now that the child is gone, there is no point in continuing the marriage." "Second sister-in-law, isn't that too much?" Brimlad could not believe she had said such a thing.
"What's too much? Figge was never good enough for my Goode."
Brimlad laughed, "Then what do you think is good enough for Goode?"
"Definitely a girl from a good family who is also good."
Brimlad found it ironic to look at Silvia's smug face.
"Do you think a girl of that calibre would be good enough for Goode?"
Silvia didn't like that, "Why not? Do you think everyone likes your Edgar?"
"I didn't say that." Brimlad knew what he was talking about and wasn't going to be as shameless as she was.
Silvia lifted her chin, "Anyway, my Goode will definitely replace a wife a hundred times better than Figge in the future."
