Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1195: That's because I like her

The first thing Thomas thought of when he got his leave was not to rest, but to replace Edwina.

Edwina couldn't help but exclaim when she saw him like this, "What's wrong with you?"

Thomas gave a simple smile, "I fell."

"How did you fall so badly?" Edwina examined the bruise on his face, a pair of fine brows furrowed, "And how did you fall on your face?" The bruise on his face looked more like he had been hit.

Thomas laughed dryly, "That's what you call landing on your face, luckily the face is still there."

Edwina covered her mouth and laughed, "Don't worry, it's still handsome."

"Are you getting off work?" Thomas saw that she had changed into her own clothes and was carrying her bag.

"Well, it's an early shift and I'm just about off duty at the moment."

With a raised sword brow, Thomas said, "Better early than never. How about this, I'll buy you dinner, okay?"

"Buy me dinner?" Edwina frowned, "Why do you want to take me to dinner?"

"No reason, just want to have a meal with you."

Edwina thought for a moment, thinking that this was not a good idea, no work for nothing.

"Mr. Thomas, thank you for your kindness, but I have to go and pick up the children."

"I'll go with you."

Thomas almost blurted out.

After saying that, he saw Edwina freeze before he realised he had been too abrupt and hastily explained, "What I meant was that I would like to treat you and the child to a meal." Edwina looked back, "Mr. Thomas, actually..."

"Edwina, don't you refuse." Thomas interrupted her, "I've had a fall today and I'm in a bit of a bad mood, I'd like to talk to someone."

He had said this, and Edwina was soft-hearted, so she agreed.

"Well, I'll let you break the bank."

"No, I'm really happy that you're willing to say yes."

Looking at Thomas with a big smile on his face, Edwina couldn't help but smile too.

...

Edgar couldn't understand his mother's intentions and was desperate to set him up with Elva.

Even though he clearly said he didn't like Elva, she still wouldn't give up.

No, today she called him to come to a restaurant near the office from work.

He thought it was a rare occasion when his mother wanted to go out for a meal, so he went there as soon as he got off work.

Who knew that he would see Elva there?

He couldn't turn around and leave in time.

"Edgar."

As soon as Elva saw him, she pounced on him, hugging his arm tightly and complaining in a pinched voice, "Why are you so late, I've been waiting for you for ages."

Edgar drew back his hand without expression and said indifferently, "Since Miss. Elva has said so, I'm leaving."

With those words, he lifted his steps and headed out.

"Don't." Elva hurried to catch up with him and hugged his arm again, "I'm happy that you came."

"Is that so?"

Edgar pulled his hand back with a leathery smile and even took two steps back to put distance between them.

Elva beamed in displeasure, "Edgar, what do you mean by that? It's not like I'm some kind of virus, why are you so far away from me?"

"I don't like to be too close to people." Edgar pulled out a random excuse.

Elva furrowed her brow, "I think you don't like to be too close to me, do you?"

Edgar was about to explain when a familiar voice came from outside.

"Edwina, this restaurant is not bad, let's eat here."

"Sure."

Thomas walked into the restaurant first and was surprised to see Edgar, "Mr. Edgar, what are you doing here?"

At that moment, Edwina walked in with Bonnie in tow, and when she saw Edgar and Elva standing together, she froze for a moment, and then the smile on her face faded for a few moments. When he saw Thomas, Edgar didn't feel anything, but when he saw Edwina behind him, his eyes flashed with surprise.

She was with Thomas.

A strange feeling crossed his heart.

He looked deeply at Edwina and a faint smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, "What a coincidence, to meet you here."

Thomas smiled, "Yeah, what a coincidence."

Elva glared at Edwina and gritted her teeth, what the hell, how could she meet this woman everywhere?

Edwina ignored Elva's hostile gaze and turned to Thomas, "Mr. Thomas, why don't we change the restaurant?"

At the sound of "Mr. Thomas", Edgar's eyes darkened a little.

"Is this a bad place?" Thomas asked with a puzzled look on his face.

"No, it's not." Edwina sighed, "Forget it, this is it."

She couldn't do it for Thomas because she wanted to avoid Edgar and Elva.

It wouldn't be fair to Thomas.

Thomas smiled, "Let's go in then."

Watching Thomas and Edwina and Bonnie walk back and forth to sit by the window, Elva raises an eyebrow and says deliberately, "They look like such a pair." She turned her head to look at Edgar to see how he would react to that comment.

But Edgar's face was calm, and even his dark eyes did not ripple.

Elva couldn't help but feel a little deflated.

This man was simply not something she could see through.

She glanced at Edwina, who was not far away, and a thought flashed through her mind, the corners of her mouth curling up slowly. "Edgar, let's replace a seat too."

She took Edgar's arm and pulled him towards Edwina and the others.

"Whatever you guys want to eat, feel free to order." Thomas pushed the menu in front of Edwina and Bonnie.

At that moment, he saw Edgar just in time to see them approaching and grinned, "Mr. Edgar."

Edwina's back stiffened and her hand tightened subconsciously as she squeezed the menu.

Elva glanced at Edwina and smiled, "Do you mind if we sit here?"

Thomas shook his head, "Of course not."

It turned out that Elva pulled Edgar to sit next to them, the two tables were separated by an aisle.

Edgar even sat diagonally across from Edwina.

An unintentional glance up into his deep dark eyes startled her into withdrawing her gaze.

To conceal her panic, she lowered her head and pretended to look at the menu, "Bonnie, what would you like to eat?" "I'll have this and this ..."

Bonnie ordered several dishes in one breath and Edwina, embarrassed to order more, pushed the menu to Thomas. "We're done ordering."

"I seem to remember you like shrimp, order the pepper shrimp." Thomas said.

Edwina shook her head, "No, there's already plenty of dishes."

"You know a lot about Miss Edwina." Elva said meaningfully.

"Do you?" Thomas smiled shyly.

"Of course I do, how else would you know that Miss. Edwina likes shrimp?"

"That's because I like her, so I have the heart to know her."

Edwina was shocked by Thomas' sudden confession.

What was he talking about?
