Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1198: Be my lady friend

Who was it?

Brimlad got out of the car and walked over towards it.

Knock, knock...

She knocked on the window.

The window slowly lowered, revealing a foreign face with deep contours.

Brimlad frowned and asked in not very good English, "Who is this, please?"

Bergerian looked at her, raised an eyebrow and asked in return, "You are from this house?"

Brimlad was surprised to hear familiar English, "So you speak English. Yes, I live here."

"Oh." Bergerian nodded and curled his lips into a smile, "I'm a friend of Eloise's."

"Eloise's friend?" Brimlad frowned, how had she not heard Eloise talk about having a foreign friend?

Just then, the door opened and Eloise came running out.

"Little aunt."

She saw Brimlad standing right next to the Bergerian car and went white with fear, rushing up and pulling the man away, glaring defensively at the person in the car. "Eloise, what's wrong?" Brimlad looked bewildered, completely unaware of what was going on.

"Bergerian, get your ass out of here or I'll ... I'll have someone kick you out." Eloise suppressed the panic in her heart and snapped in a stern voice with a strong sense of calm. Bergerian?

Brimlad's eyes suddenly went wide, "Eloise, could he be ..."

Eloise turned her head and gave her a reassuring smile, "Auntie, don't worry, it's okay."

"Eloise..." Brimlad clasped her hand worriedly.

Bergerian opened the door and stepped out of the car, standing in front of Eloise, his blue eyes fixed on her, a faint smile on his lips, "Sofía, in the words of your country, a visitor is a visitor, so why do you have to turn people away?" "You are not welcome here." Eloise's small face tightened and her eyes glared coldly at him.

"Matthew."

Bergerian suddenly shouted and Eloise blushed slightly, subconsciously taking a few steps back.

"Sir." Matthew handed a box to Bergerian.

Bergerian took it and looked up at Eloise, the smile on his lips deepening a little, "This is a gift for you."

Eloise didn't even look at the box and instantly refused, "I won't accept your gift."

Her reaction was expected, but Bergerian felt a little uncomfortable when he saw the resistance and defensiveness on her face.

He stared at her for a long moment and then suddenly pressed forward.

Eloise's heart tightened and she subconsciously tried to step back, but he grabbed her wrist.

"Eloise!" exclaimed Brimlad, trying to save her.

Just then, Bergerian said in a deep voice: "Stop! If you come any closer, I'll take her away!"

At these words, Brimlad dared not move, but looked at Eloise, at a loss for words.

"What the hell do you want?" Eloise glared at him with a stern gaze.

Bergerian curled his lips, "Would you believe me when I say I just came to see you and drop off a present?"

Eloise stared at him with a deadly stare and didn't answer.

Bergerian didn't care as he handed her the box in his hand, "You take the gift and I'll leave."

Eloise didn't believe him, so she didn't take the box.

"Sofía, have I ever hurt you since I found out you were the one I was looking for?" Bergerian asked.

Eloise pursed her lips tightly and didn't make a sound.

Bergerian laughed softly and laughed to himself, "So I am a man so unworthy of being trusted."

As he had said, he really hadn't hurt her.

Eloise bit her lip and asked, "As soon as I take your gift, you'll leave?"

"Mmm." Bergerian nodded.

Eloise took a deep breath, "Fine, I'll take your gift."

The words fell and she took the box from his hand.

"Can you let go of me now?" Eloise asked.

Bergerian released his hand and looked at her with a gentle, light smile, "Sofía, open the present when you get back and I will wait for you." With that, he bent towards Brimlad and turned to the car.

As she watched the car drive away, Brimlad let out a huge sigh of relief.

"Eloise, that's the man who's been trying to take you, isn't it?" Brimlad asked.

Eloise turned her head to look at her and nodded, "Well, it's him."

Getting the exact answer, Brimlad got anxious, "What does he mean by coming today?"

"Probably... just to give a present." Eloise shrugged.

Brimlad looked at the box in her hand and frowned, "It's better to throw that away, in case it's something bad."

EloiseEdwina smiled, "It's fine, he wouldn't send anything bad."

Then, with a turn of phrase, she said, "Let's go inside."

...

Back at home, Eloise and Brimlad had a brief chat before heading straight upstairs.

Once in her room, she opened the box, and inside was a black dress, and a card.

She holds the card up.

Sofía: There is a party tomorrow night at the Hyatt Hotel and I hope you can come in this dress. I'll be waiting for you.

It was signed, naturally, Bergerian.

Her eyebrows furrowed in disgust, Eloise tossed the card and the dress into the box, closed it and threw it straight into the corner. What a joke!

There was no way she was going to any party, Bergerian was just being useless.

Just then, the phone suddenly rang.

Even though it was an unfamiliar string of numbers, Eloise recognised it as Bergerian's number.

She hung up without any hesitation.

But the other party didn't seem to give up and called several times.

Eloise couldn't stand it any longer and had to pick up, "What's up?"

"Have you seen the present?" Bergerian wasn't angry that she had hung up several times in a row, his tone sounded calm.

"Saw it."

"That's good, I'll be waiting for you at the hotel."

"There's no way I'm going."

At that, Bergerian raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure?"

"Of course. You don't have to wait for me." Eloise glanced at the box in the corner and smiled coldly, "Bergerian, I don't know exactly what you're trying to do, but I can tell you that it's no use doing any more than you have to, there's no way I'm going back to Italy with you."

"Heh."

A soft laugh came through the receiver and Eloise frowned.

"Sofía, I just wanted to ask you to be my date, nothing more."

"I can't possibly say yes, replace someone else."

With that said, Eloise was about to hang up, when she heard Bergerian on the other side of the phone ask, "Don't you want to know what's going on with Hector?"

Eloise's heart leapt at this and she asked after her, "What do you mean by that?"

"Earlene called me and asked me to help her, do you think I should help her?"

"Bergerian!" said Eloise sharply, "I won't allow any of you to hurt Hector."

"I won't hurt him, but only if you do as you're told." Bergerian narrowed his eyes and a determined smile curled the corners of his mouth, "Behave and be my date and I will reunite you with Hector." Eloise squeezed her small hand tightly, whirled it loose and said faintly, "Yes, I promise."
