Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1208: Apart from being ridiculous or ridiculous
Edwina came out just in time to see Eloise putting the phone back on the table.
She rushed over, "Miss. Eloise, you..."
"Hmm?" Eloise turned her head and met her puzzled eyes, Edwina smiled, "Cousin called you, I saw it was him and was worried he was up to something, so I answered it for you."
"So that's it." Edwina sighed in relief and walked over to pick up the phone, she pursed her lips and pretended not to ask, "Did Mr. Edgar say anything?" "Nope. He just asked if I had come to your place."
"That's all?"
Edgar would call her, surely to ask about Miss. Eloise, and hopefully he hadn't let it slip.
Still, seeing as how Miss. Eloise looked like she didn't know anything, she shouldn't know anything at all.
"Well, that's it."
Eloise stood up, "Can we go out now?"
"Yes." Edwina put her bag on her back, "Let's go."
...
Eloise never expected to meet someone she didn't want to meet even when buying a dress.
Edwina took the dress she had picked out to the fitting room, she was bored and wandering around the shop when a slightly shrill voice came. "Eloise."
She turned her head to follow the voice, only to see Elva walking towards her with a cheerful face.
Such a coincidence?
She stood still and watched as Elva approached.
"Eloise, are you here to pick out a dress too?" Elva asked as soon as she approached.
Eloise?
Since when did they know each other so well?
Out of courtesy, Eloise smiled gently, "I'm here with a friend."
"I see. I'm a VIP in this shop, you can get a 10% discount by quoting my name at the checkout."
Perhaps Elva meant well, but the unabashed superiority on her face really made it hard to feel good.
The smile on Eloise's lips deepened a little and her tone was light, "No need, I'm a VIP too."
It then occurred to Elva that she was the daughter-in-law of the Rogers family, so her friends must also be rich and famous, so how could she possibly need a discount for herself? And she was also Edgar's cousin.
At that thought, Elva hastily and carefully apologised, "I'm sorry, Eloise, I didn't mean it like that."
"What?" Eloise pretended not to understand what she meant.
Since she didn't understand, Elva let it go and laughed, "It's nothing, it's nothing."
Eloise asked casually, "Are you here to pick out a dress too?"
"Yes, I'm here to pick out a dress for the anniversary of my mall in a few days, there's a party." Her mall?
That couldn't be a coincidence, could it?
Eloise's brow furrowed, "Which mall?"
Eloise laughed dryly when Elva said the name of the mall.
"By the way, Eloise, you have to come to the party with Edgar and the others."
Just as Elva said this, the curtain in the fitting room swished open and she turned her head to look over.
Edwina came out with her skirt in her hand.
The moment she saw Edwina, Elva's face changed and she looked at Eloise in disbelief, "This is your friend?" Eloise nodded noncommittally and walked towards Edwina.
How did this happen?
The two said something unsure and Edwina broke into a shy smile.
The wife of the Chairman of the Rogers Group was making friends with a single mother?
And it seems that the relationship is not bad at all.
It couldn't be that Edwina, the woman, was deliberately approaching Eloise in order to get closer to Edgar, could it?
The more Elva thought about it, the more likely it seemed.
No, she couldn't let that woman get away with it.
So she walked over to her in a rage.
...
"Miss. Eloise, is it nice?"
Edwina asked cautiously as soon as Eloise approached, a hint of anticipation lurking in her voice.
"It looks good, it's very nice." Eloise smiled and nodded.
"Really?" Edwina was in a bit of disbelief.
"Really, it's really nice."
Receiving a positive yes, Edwina smiled coyly as she looked down at the dress on her body, "Then buy this one." "Can you afford it?"
A shifty voice rang in her ears and Edwina looked up.
Elva walked up to her, her arms wrapped around her chest, glaring at her coldly.
Eloise furrowed her brow, it looked like Elva was trying to give Edwina a hard time again.
"The dresses in this shop are all handmade by the designer, there is only one of each style and the prices are high, are you sure you can afford it?"
In the face of Elva's question, Edwina squeezed her small hand, "I ... can afford it."
Her voice sounded a little underwhelmed.
She would come to this shop because Miss. Eloise said that all the dresses here were beautiful, and she had come straight to this shop without giving it much thought.
If the prices were really high, as Elva had said, then there was a real possibility that she couldn't afford it.
"Is that so?" Elva sneered and called out to the shop assistant, "Tell her how much this gown on her costs?"
"The gown on this lady is one of the cheapest styles in our shop, eighty-eight thousand eight hundred."
The figure quoted by the shop assistant made Edwina take a small step backwards. Eighty-eight thousand dollars!
Still the cheapest price in the shop.
She couldn't even save that much money in a year.
Seeing her face change, Elva laughed out, her smile full of mockery, "So yeah, one has to be self-aware so as not to be ashamed."
"Miss. Elva, have you said enough?" Eloise couldn't help but speak up.
"Eloise, did I say something wrong?"
Elva asked softly, her smile unabated under Eloise's warmthless gaze.
"Nothing wrong, but it's annoying." Eloise spat the words out almost between her teeth, enough to see how much she hated Elva.
Elva's smile faltered, then she recovered and said, "Even if you hate it, Eloise, I'm still going to say it."
"The most important thing about people is to have shame and not to presume on things or people that don't belong to them." She turned her head to Edwina, "Miss. Edwina, you know what I mean, don't you?" Edwina bit her lip and did not make a sound.
"Miss. Elva, what are you to her?" Eloise asked.
Elva's eyes drifted down, "I ... I'm not her anything."
"That's right, if you're not her who, why do you get to tell her what to do? Is it your turn to educate her?"
Eloise's barrage of questions confused Elva, forgetting to retort for a moment.
"Heh." Eloise sneered, "I know Miss. Elva has a great sense of superiority, but sorry, your sense of superiority is nothing but laughable to me."
