Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1210: It's my heart
Edwina froze, "I ..."
Lest she take it seriously, Eloise hurriedly said, "Actually I was lying to Elva, I didn't know if my cousin had a crush on someone." Edwina said "Oh" softly and didn't say anything more.
"Well, let's go to another shop." Eloise took her arm and walked forward.
"Miss. Eloise, don't look." Edwina pulled her to a halt.
Eloise frowned, "Why?"
"The dresses are all very expensive and I can't afford them. The big deal is to take time off from the party when the time comes." Although it was an understatement, it was still clear that she really wanted to attend the party.
Eloise thought for a moment, "Why don't I lend it to you?"
Edwina shook her head, "No, Miss. Eloise, if you lend me the money, I don't know when I'll be able to pay it back."
And the money would be paid back, but not the favour.
Eloise lost her smile, "Silly, I meant to lend you the dress, not the money."
"Oh." Edwina couldn't help but laugh too, "I'm sorry, I misunderstood."
"It's fine, if you don't mind me wearing it, then come and see it at home?"
"I certainly wouldn't mind." Edwina hesitated before nodding, "Okay, I'll take a look then."
The two went back to the Khan family together; Brimlad was out and not at home.
Edwina couldn't help but be relieved, Mrs Brimlad had warned her last time to stay away from Edgar and would have been furious if she knew she was coming to the Khan family. Eloise gave her a sideways glance and smiled, "Edwina, actually my sister-in-law didn't mean any harm, you don't have to take her words to heart."
Edwina's brow furrowed at her sudden comment, "You knew she had approached me?"
Eloise nodded, "Yes, my brother-in-law told me herself."
She weighed her words, "The truth is, as a parent, you always want your child to have a smooth ride and less ups and downs, sometimes you just get concerned."
Edwina laughed softly, "I understand how Aunty feels, and she's right, I'm not the right person for Mr. Edgar."
"It's not up to you to decide if it's a good fit or not." Eloise gave her a deep look, then turned the conversation around and said, "Well, enough about that. Let's go upstairs and look at the dresses."
...
Italy.
BANG!
The phone hit the wall hard and cracked on the floor at the sound.
Lisa's face was in full rage, her otherwise pretty face scowling from the anger that had stained it.
The butler at the side looked at the shattered phone screen and gulped before stepping forward and advising with trepidation, "Madam, don't be angry, be careful of breaking your health." "Heh." Lisa laughed coldly, "So what if you're angry? He'll give me one more look!"
"Madam..."
The housekeeper tried to continue to persuade her, but was interrupted before she could finish her sentence.
"That's enough! I don't want to hear nonsense!"
A harsh look shot over and the butler hurriedly shut her mouth and put her head down.
Lisa sneered, "How nice of Bergerian to bring that woman to the party, where in the world does he put me, the original?"
If someone hadn't sent her the photos, she wouldn't have known that Bergerian had done such a shameful thing behind her back!
And to think that in the photo, that woman Eloise was... The thought of that picture of Eloise, the woman with the intimate arm around Bergerian, made her angry.
"Ah!" She grabbed the cup on the table and slammed it on the floor, scaring the butler into ducking.
"Eloise, you wait!" She clenched her teeth in hatred, the hate in her eyes spilling out.
After a moment, Lisa calmed down a little and raised her voice to shout, "Housekeeper." "Madam, I'm here."
"Book my ticket to Kyoto."
"Yes!" The butler led the way and hurried away.
Lisa clenched her hands, her expression as gloomy as ink, and her eyes were shadowy.
This time, she would take care of that bitch herself!
Meanwhile, Rowson and Katerina met at a cafe.
"Did you get it?" Rowson asked as soon as they met.
This irritated Katerina a little and she grunted coldly, "Not even a few pleasantries, just asking me that straight away, Rowson you're so ruthless!"
Rowson's face was unruffled as he repeated the question, "Did you get it?"
That's enough!
Katerina laughed, "Forget it, I'm not going to bother with you."
Then she said, "Unfortunately, you haven't got what you wanted."
Rowson frowned, "What's taking so long?"
"Slow?" Katerina glared at him incredulously, "Rowson, it's not like you don't know how discreet that Curry guy is, even I would have a hard time getting to the very core of the information." "Haven't you been getting close to George lately?"
Rowson's tone was muted, not a ripple of emotion could be heard.
But to Katerina's ears, it sounded otherwise.
She bit her lip, the corner of her mouth couldn't help but rise, "What, are you jealous?"
"Jealous?" Rowson's brow furrowed even more, unable to understand why she was asking.
Knowing that he only had Eloise on his mind, Katerina felt like she was making a fool of herself.
"Forget I asked." Katerina straightened up, "Just because I'm close to George doesn't mean that Professor Curry will trust me, and George is, well, unreliable."
She had mentioned several times as an aside that she wanted to visit Curry's lab, but she didn't know if George was too wary or simply too heartless to understand what she was saying. "So what are you going to do?" Rowson asked.
She was the only person he could count on right now, and if she couldn't do anything about it, he didn't know what to do.
"Figure it out again." Katerina bristled, "You don't have to rush, since I promised you I'd get it for you."
"It's not that I'm in a hurry, it's that her situation can't be delayed any longer."
Katerina frowned, "Hasn't this virus not kicked in yet?"
"The virus in her body is like a time bomb, no one knows when it will go off, it would be nice to get rid of it sooner rather than later."
"Is that so?" Katerina snorted, "You're really dead set on her."
"I'm redeeming myself." Rowson narrowed his eyes, "Without me, she wouldn't have contracted that virus."
Katerina couldn't help but get annoyed at his look of self-recrimination and regret, "Come on, let's not talk about it."
Rowson looked at her with a look of impatience and raised an eyebrow, "No matter how much you dislike Eloise, I still want to thank you for her."
"Thank you won't be necessary. As long as this is settled and you can put her down, that's the best thanks I can get."
Katerina stood up and leaned in close to him, just as their noses were about to touch, she stopped and her red lips curled, "Rowson, I'm helping you because I want to, but I hope you won't trample on my heart." Rowson looked into her eyes for a moment, and a strange feeling inexplicably crossed his heart, fleeting.
"Well, it's time for me to go." Katerina straightened up, picked up the coffee on the table and drank it down with a beautiful smile, "Fu, I look forward to our next meeting."
With those words, she raised her head and left.
Rowson looked at the coffee cup she had put down for a long time.
