Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1221: Need a few maids
It was quiet outside.
Earlene breathed a long sigh of relief and raised her eyes to meet a pair of eyes that floated with doubt.
She raised her lips in a smile, "Is there a lot you want to ask me?"
Hector nodded.
She lowered her head and pursed her lips, her tone light, "Whatever you want to ask, remember that I never hurt you and that I really do love and adore you."
As Eloise had said, he hadn't completely forgotten the past, or at the very least, there was probably still something of his past with Eloise in the deepest recesses of his memory. Otherwise he wouldn't have said something like that.
At that thought, she curled her lips in self-deprecation.
Eloise was right, she really was scared.
Hector looked at her, his eyes as deep as a pond, unable to see any emotion.
I don't know if it was his own illusion, but he suddenly felt a faint layer of sadness enveloping her.
Heart, Edwina moved.
He stepped forward, reached out and took her into his arms.
A scent of his freshness ran through his nose and his eyes flushed indefinitely.
Earlene grabbed him by the lapels, buried her face in his arms and whimpered.
She was so afraid that he would remember everything and leave her and go back to Eloise.
Even if she had snatched this relationship by any means necessary, she didn't want to give it back.
"Earlene, don't cry." Hector lifted his hand and patted her back gently.
Earlene left his embrace and raised her hand to wipe her tears, then looked up at him.
"Are you going to leave me?" She asked.
Hector shook his head, "No."
Such an answer did not reassure her.
She thought for a moment and then asked, "Did you feel anything when you saw Eloise?"
"Feelings?" Hector didn't understand what she was asking.
"Just whether it felt familiar or something like that."
Hector thought hard about it and answered truthfully, "It did look familiar."
Earlene's heart sank; he really did remember Eloise deep in his memory.
Seeing her face change, Hector asked with concern, "Is something wrong with you?"
"Nothing." Earlene curled her lips and continued, "You actually know something from our conversations, I think."
"Hmm." Hector nodded, "I know that Eloise and I did know each other before, and that the relationship was supposed to be uncomplicated." Having first met Eloise at the airport, he had guessed something.
But seeing as how she seemed to dislike Eloise, he hadn't mentioned it.
After today's events, he could be sure that his relationship with Eloise should not be simple.
Earlene smiled and admitted it openly, "Well, you used to be a couple."
Hector was not at all surprised, but simply asked lightly, "Did she and I have a good relationship?"
Instead of answering him, Earlene asked, "Now that you know about your relationship with her, will you go back to her?"
Back to Eloise?
A good-looking sword brow furrowed, and Hector's heart ached as his mind drifted to Eloise's sobbing face.
"Will you go back to her?" Earlene repeated the question, her eyes locked on him, her heart on edge.
She was afraid to hear a positive answer.
"No." Hector put his hands on her shoulders, leaned in to look into her uncertain eyes, and said gently, "You saved my life, and I've forgotten the past, so how can I go back to her?" Earlene cried tears of joy as she threw herself into his arms and choked out, "Hector, I love you so much, you mustn't leave me."
"Good."
Hector gently stroked her soft hair, his eyes downcast, unable to see his true emotions.
From the time the Bartram family left, Eloise had been silent.
"Sister-in-law, are you all right?" Rupert asked with concern.
Eloise gave him a look and Edwina gave a smile, "I'm fine."
"Don't worry, we'll replace a way to bring my brother home." Rupert reassured.
"I know." Eloise turned her head to look out the window, her eyes a little sad, "I'm just afraid he won't want to."
Rupert pondered for a moment, "Sister-in-law, you don't have to worry about that. Looking at my brother's reaction today, I think he hasn't completely forgotten you, as long as you appear in front of him more often and talk about the past, you might get him to remember."
Eloise smiled bitterly, "With the way things are going, I'm afraid it will be hard for me to see your brother again."
Earlene would certainly be more cautious especially after what had happened today.
"There's always a way."
Eloise sighed, "Let's hope so."
...
Edgar learned that Eloise had been to the Bartram family and said straight away that it was too impulsive.
"Eloise, weren't you told to behave and wait at home? Why did you go to the Bartram family?" Edgar couldn't understand.
"I was the one who asked my sister-in-law to accompany me." Rupert said, "You don't blame her."
Edgar laughed helplessly, "Rupert, I'm not blaming her. It's just to say that by doing this you will only raise Earlene's guard and I'm afraid you won't even be able to get into the Bartram family by then."
Rupert nodded, "That's something we thought of, and we're really sorry, it was poorly thought out."
"It's okay." Edgar sighed heavily, "The Rawlins are probably the only ones we can rely on now."
At that, Eloise looked up, "Did he say anything?"
"He did call me and said in no uncertain terms that he would help us, but told us not to rush."
Eloise frowned, "What do you mean don't rush?"
Edgar pondered for a moment, "He meant that Earlene wasn't leaving Kyoto that soon and gave us quite enough time."
Eloise sneered, "So what if we have plenty of time, Earlene won't let us get anywhere near Hector."
"For now it does, but it's not absolute."
Edgar's words raised hope in Eloise's heart and she hurriedly pursued the question, "Have you come up with a solution, cousin?" "Sort of."
"What solution?" Rupert was anxious too.
Edgar smiled softly, "Rawlins told me that his family needed a few servants."
"And?"
Eloise and Rupert both looked confused, not understanding what he meant.
"Are you all silly for being concerned?" Edgar looked at them somewhat helplessly.
Rupert had a flash of light and stared in amazement, "Are you planning to arrange for someone to go into the Bartram family?" "Guess so." Edgar nodded.
"Who?" Eloise asked.
Edgar stared at her intently, the smile on his lips deepening a few notches as he slowly opened his lips, "You." Eloise was dumbfounded, "Me?"
"Cousin, you're joking, Earlene knows my sister-in-law, how could she possibly be in the Bartram family?"
In the face of Rupert's query, Edgar just smiled lightly, "Ways are thought up by people."
If he said that, then he must have arranged everything a long time ago.
Eloise took a deep breath, "Cousin, everything is up to you."
She would do anything to get into the Bartram family and to meet Hector.
