Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1222: Transfiguration

Rawlins came home from work and learned from the housekeeper that Eloise had come to the house today. "Has Earlene been well?" Rawlins asked in a light voice as he took off his suit jacket.

The housekeeper took it in a hurry and returned, "The lady is fine."

"And where is she?" Rawlins tugged at his tie.

"Upstairs."

Rawlins raised his eyes to the upstairs and frowned slightly, "Has she been to see the old lady?"

The butler nodded, "Yes."

"That's good."

Rawlins unbuttoned the cuffs of his shirt and pulled them neatly upwards twice, exposing his lean wrists.

He lifted his steps and prepared to head for the living room.

"Miss." The butler suddenly called out.

He turned his head and saw Earlene, who had appeared at the top of the stairs, looking down at him with a cold gaze. Rawlins' mouth curled in a sneer, "I didn't say anything bad about you."

Earlene looked at him silently for a long moment before speaking slowly, "I have something to say to you."

Rawlins raised his eyebrows in surprise, what was this about the sun coming out of the west?

She had come forward and said she had something to say to him!

"What is it?" Rawlins asked indifferently, suppressing his surprise.

"Let's talk in the study."

With those words, Earlene took the lead and turned to go to the study.

Rawlins stood there for a moment, thinking, before raising his steps and heading for the stairs.

Walking into the study and seeing Earlene standing by the window, he walked over and asked softly, "What do you want to talk about?"

Earlene turned around, her cool gaze falling on his face, and said, "I'm going to marry Hector."

Her tone was indifferent as if she were talking about something that had nothing to do with her.

"Marry?!" Rawlins exclaimed, "Are you crazy?"

"I'm not crazy." Earlene withdrew her gaze and looked out the window again.

Earlene sneered, "If you're not crazy, why would you think of marrying a married man?"

"Because of Granny."

The Rawlins fell silent at the mention of the old lady.

A dead silence fell over the study.

Earlene closed her eyes to hide the sadness underneath them and said softly, "Grandma is the only family I have in this world, and she said she wanted to see a family start, so how could I let her down?" The only family?

Rawlins hooked his lips in self-deprecation, so in her heart, he wasn't even family anymore.

She could be so heartless.

"So, Hector and I have to get married." Earlene turned her head and unexpectedly met his hurt eyes.

Her heart, inexplicably, felt like it had been stabbed by something.

She quickly averted her eyes and said faintly, "You will need to arrange this."

Rawlins tilted his head and curled his mouth, "Earlene, what the hell do you take me for?"

A low voice, with a muffled, stifled feeling.

Like an accusation.

Ignoring his question, Earlene said, "My parents wouldn't have adopted you if Grandma hadn't insisted, so everything you have today is from her."

At that, Rawlins laughed out loud, with a sarcastic smile, "So you want me to repay the favour?"

"Shouldn't I?" Earlene turned her head and looked at him with an expressionless face.

He didn't feel undeserved.

It was just that...

Rawlins took a deep breath, "Fine, I'll arrange things."

Getting the result he wanted, Earlene didn't care to say anything else to him, and striding past him, headed for the door.

"Earlene!" Rawlins shouted out abruptly.

She stopped on her feet and didn't look back.

Rawlins turned his head to look at her with more than a hint of compassion in his gaze, "What is robbed, is one day returned."

Even if Hector lost his memory now, he might remember everything in the future, and when that happened, what would she do?

Earlene squeezed her palms together, a thin layer of coldness covering her small face, and threw down a cold, "My business is none of your business," and walked away.

My business is none of your business.

Rawlins laughed out loud, a smile full of bitterness and sarcasm, and as he laughed, tears suddenly flowed out of his eyes.

Why didn't she understand him?

He didn't want to see her make another mistake, didn't want to see her get hurt again.

Raising his hand to wipe the tears, he took a deep breath, suppressing the sourness that filled his heart, and his expression became firm.

Since she was bent on having her own way, he was determined to be the bad guy.

He must stop her from continuing to be wrong!

...

Almeida and Sener arrived in Kyoto with their newly developed medicine, and another item.

When she saw them, Eloise guessed what her cousin meant when he said, "It's the people who come up with the solutions".

"Miss Eloise."

Almeida and Sener called out respectfully.

Eloise smiled softly, "Thank you for your hard work."

"No hard work." Almeida stepped forward and handed over the newly developed medicine, "It's a new medicine, in addition to suppressing the virus, it will more importantly boost your body's immunity." "The medicine doesn't kill the virus yet?" Rupert asked doubtfully.

Almeida and Sener had spent a lot of time working on this new drug, and it shouldn't be the only thing it could do.

Sener laughed, "Mr Rupert, it's not that it can't, but it will take some time, and we can't guarantee that it will kill the virus 100%."

"It's fine, it's good that it suppresses the virus." Eloise was afraid they would blame themselves and rushed to reassure them.

"Miss Eloise, if you feel any discomfort after you take the medicine, make sure you tell Sener and I in time," Almeida admonished. Eloise nodded, "Okay."

At this point Edgar, who had not spoken, spoke up, "Did you bring the things you were told to bring?"

"Brought."

Sener placed a box on the table and opened it, inside was a human skin mask.

Rupert frowned, "This?"

"Didn't Eloise go into the Bartram family as a servant? This mask will allow her to enter the Bartram family without any problems," Edgar explained.

Eloise had a slight surprise, "Is this intended to disguise me?"

If she hadn't seen this human mask with her own eyes, she wouldn't have believed that such a thing was actually possible.

"Hmm." Edgar nodded, "The only way to not arouse Earlene's suspicions is to be disguised."

Sener put the human skin mask into Eloise's hands and carefully showed her how she was going to put her face on.

Rupert's brow furrowed, "Are you sure this is going to work?"

Edgar patted him on the shoulder and laughed, "This Almeida and Sener are your brother's people, don't you trust them yet?"

"Of course I trust them. I'm just afraid that if my sister-in-law reveals a breach, will she be in danger?" That was Rupert's biggest worry.

"Do you think I'm only letting Eloise into the Bartram family alone?"

At that, Rupert turned his head and asked uncertainly, "So you ..."

Edgar laughed, "The maids who are coming into the Bartram family this time are all people I have arranged. Don't worry, Eloise will be fine."
