Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1224: A Good Start

Eloise thought she wouldn't be able to see Hector for a while, so she was a bit bored.

But then, in the afternoon, she did.

She was tidying up the dining room when Hector suddenly came striding over and asked gently, "Where's the orange juice, please?"

She had her back to the door and as soon as she heard the familiar voice, she quickly turned around and the face that was so deep into her bones just fell into her eyes. "Hector ..." she was about to shout out his name subconsciously.

"Where is the orange juice, please?"

Hector repeated the question just in time to interrupt her, in a rusty and polite tone that sobered her up in an instant.

She pursed her lips and smiled, "The orange juice is in the fridge, do you need me to get it for you?"

Hector returned the smile, "No, I'll go and get it myself."

Watching him enter the kitchen, Eloise squeezed her palms to suppress the uncomfortable feeling in her chest.

It seemed she would have to try to think of him as the owner of the place and forget he was her Hector for a while.

Hector came out with the orange juice and walked over to her, looked at it carefully, smiled and asked, "You new here?"

Eloise was slightly surprised, "You know I'm new?"

"I was asking you, wasn't I?" Hector thought how she was being a bit silly.

"Oh." It dawned on Eloise, "Yes, I'm new."

"Earlene told me there were some new maids in the house and I thought they were all quite old, but I didn't realize how young you looked."

Eloise lost her smile, "Is that so?"

"Hmm." Hector opened his orange juice and took a sip, asking casually, "Are you from Kyoto?"

"Sort of."

"So do you know where there's fun in Kyoto?"

"You want to go out?" Eloise asked tentatively, without answering him.

Hector nodded honestly, "Yes. It's a bit boring staying at home and I'd like to go out for a walk."

"Did the lady agree to let you go out?"

With Earlene's cautious personality, surely she wouldn't approve of him wandering around; after all, both the Rogers family and the Khan family now knew he was back in the country. "No." Hector pursed his lips, somewhat innocently but gently, "She's probably afraid of something and won't let me go out alone."

Because feelings were stolen, Earlene was afraid.

Afraid of losing him.

Eloise guffawed, "I'll sneak you out one day if you want."

Hector's eyes lit up, "Are you serious?

"Of course I'm serious, but only when the lady isn't home."

"Then we have a deal."

Eloise nodded, "Well, it's a deal."

Hector smiled, smiling like an innocent little child.

Suddenly, she thought that his memory loss might not be a bad thing, because she had never seen him laugh so easily and happily. She stared deeply at him, trying to carve the image of him into her mind.

"Hector.

Earlene's voice came from outside.

Eloise blushed, she couldn't let Earlene see her and Hector meeting.

So, she lowered her voice, "Don't ever say you've seen me."

Hector looked confused, "What do you mean?"

"Don't care what it means, just listen to me."

With that, Eloise hurried into the kitchen and hid.

Earlene walked into the dining room and saw Hector there, her thin eyebrows knitted, "What are you doing here?"

"I was thirsty and wanted some orange juice." Hector lifted the orange juice in his hand.

Earlene nodded and looked around, "Have you seen anyone else?"

"I ..." Hector replied quickly, remembering Eloise's explanation, "No."

"Really?" Earlene was a little incredulous.

Hector curled his lips in a smile, "Really, I'm the only one here."

Earlene looked around again, it really didn't look like anyone else was there.

Relieved, she pulled Hector outside, "Let me walk you outside."

Hector looked back into the kitchen as he responded.

Eloise was poking her head out.

He smiled and gestured 'OK'.

She smiled, her eyebrows arched in a cute way.

Something flashed through his mind too quickly for Hector to catch it.

The smile slowly faded from his lips.

What the hell was that just now?

Walking out of the cottage, Earlene turned her head to look at Hector, only then realising that she had noticed that his face was not right.

"Is something wrong?" She asked hastily.

Hector looked up at her and was silent for a few seconds before he spoke, "Something just flashed inside my head."

Earlene blushed slightly at this and asked after her, "What was it?

"It was too quick to know what it was." Hector frowned, "What do you think it could have been?"

So he didn't know what it was.

Earlene sighed in dark relief and said, "Whatever it is, let's take a walk over there."

At her comment, Hector didn't think any deeper about it and was led by her towards the backyard.

...

At last I saw Hector.

Eloise stepped out of the kitchen and sat down in a chair, the corners of her mouth suppressing a rise as she thought back to what had just happened. Even though he'd forgotten about her, he wasn't repulsed by himself.

That was a good start.

Hopefully, she would see him more often in the days that followed.

The housekeeper came in and, seeing her sitting alone in her chair, giggling, could not help but wrinkle her brow and ask out loud, "Elo, what are you laughing at?"

The sudden sound of a voice pulled Eloise back to her senses and when she saw it was the butler, she stood up in a hurry, "Ted."

"What are you giggling about all by yourself?" The butler asked again with a smile.

Eloise scratched her head and returned coyly, "Nothing."

"Whatever you're giggling about, just be serious when you're working, okay?"

"Got it." Eloise nodded.

The butler turned his head to look outside, then leaned in close and asked in a whisper, "Did Prince Hector just come into the kitchen?"

Eloise said in mock bewilderment, "Did he, why didn't I see it?"

"It's a good thing you didn't, or you'll be in for a treat if the lady replaces out." The housekeeper gave her an unpleasant look, "If you see Prince Hector in the kitchen in future, you'd better hide from him." Eloise said "Oh" and asked curiously, "Ted, why won't the lady let me see Prince Hector?"

"Is that what you should be asking?" The butler sank his face and scolded in a stern tone, "Remember that in here, less talk and more action is better, you're just a servant, don't try to guess the master's mind, understand?" "Understood." Eloise bowed her head.

Seeing as she was so obedient, the butler couldn't help but say more, "Elo, the Bartram family is obviously the prince in charge, but in fact the prince cares a lot about the lady and usually listens to her."

"Ted, I know. I will say less and do more in future and I won't cause you any trouble." Eloise assured him.

The butler smiled with satisfaction, "I believe you."

He looked around and said, "You get on with your work, I'm going out."

After Ted went out, Eloise sighed heavily, it looked like she really had to be more careful or all this would be for nothing.
