Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1227: You can't get married
Eloise stared deeply at him.
I'm your wife, of course I know you.
Only, that was something that she couldn't say in her current capacity.
Seeing that she didn't say anything, Hector couldn't help but frown, "Answer, did you know me before?"
Eloise smiled, "No, how would I know you."
"I thought you knew me." Hector was a little disappointed, "I forgot about the old days, so I was wondering what kind of person I used to be." "You used to be a very kind and gentle person."
"Hmm?" Hector stared at her suspiciously, "Didn't you just say you didn't know me before?"
"I meant what I felt." Eloise hastened to explain, "Because you seem so gentle."
"Is that so?" Hector smiled, "Actually Earlene did say I've become softer now, I used to be the cold one."
No, you're not cold at all.
Eloise gazed deeply at him once more.
Meeting her overly focused gaze, Hector asked with amusement, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"I'm sorry." Eloise hurriedly averted her eyes, brushed her hair from her cheeks and said, "You look like my husband." Hector's eyes widened in surprise, "You're married?"
"Well, with kids."
"Doesn't look like it." Hector gave her a look, looked up at the sky and curled his lips into a smile, "I'm getting married too." He was getting married?
Eloise was shocked, "You ... you're getting married?"
"Yeah, is that weird?" Hector couldn't understand why she was so shocked, it was as if she had seen a ghost.
"How can you get married?" Eloise got anxious, "You can't get married, never!"
Why did she look as if she was resisting when it was his personal business?
"Who are you to me?" Hector asked.
"I'm your ..." Eloise met his questioning eyes and realised she had reacted too much, "I'm sorry."
She lowered her head and her whole emotion calmed down.
There was silence all around.
It was a long time before Eloise spoke again, "Prince Hector, do you love the lady very much?"
"Well ..." Hector thought seriously, "I don't know if I love her, but just feel I can't do her wrong, after all, she saved my life."
"She said that to you?" Eloise asked.
"Hmm."
"Huh." Eloise sneered, "She's got a lot of nerve."
The sound was so small that Hector didn't hear it, "What did you say?"
"Nothing." Eloise laughed, "If you've been married before, you'd be doing your former wife a disservice by getting married again now, wouldn't you?" "My previous wife ..." Hector bowed his head, the corners of his mouth curling up seemingly, "but I've forgotten all about it."
"And just because you've forgotten, you can marry someone else again?"
Eloise knew he was forgetting about the past, but couldn't help but be angry.
Hector was silent for a few seconds before he spoke again. "I actually met my former wife and the way she cried is something I can't forget to this day." At this point, he smiled bitterly, "Why do I lose sleep? It's not because the moment I close my eyes, her sad and painful crying face pops up in my mind."
Hearing him say this, Eloise's heart ached hard, her eyes heated up and a mist formed in them.
"Can I take that to mean that you actually have her in mind."
Hector turned his head and his sword frowned, "Are you saying I'm not over her?"
Eloise pursed her lips, "Well, at the very least, you remember her deep in your memory."
Hector hesitated a little, "But... I don't really remember her."
"You'll remember." Eloise stood up, took a deep breath, turned her head, and looked at him with a light smile Brimlad, "Prince Hector, you will surely remember your former wife." With that, she bowed, then turned and left.
Hector was left alone in the large backyard, and the silence that came with her presence did not feel too quiet, but now that she was gone, he frowned.
This night, Hector slept soundly, not dreaming of the woman who had been crying in his ear.
...
The next morning, Edgar was a little hungover and had a headache.
Seeing how uncomfortable he was, Brimlad couldn't help but chant, "What do you mean you're drinking in the middle of the night, really, you're an adult and still have no sense of proportion." "Mum, I'm already in pain, don't read about it." Edgar begged, rubbing his aching temples.
"You think I miss you!" Brimlad shot him an uncomfortable look and handed him the invitation on the table, "This is the Boone Family mall's anniversary party and you have to attend it for me." "When is it?"
"This evening."
Edgar dropped his hand and uttered in surprise, "Tonight?"
"Yeah, what's wrong?" Brimlad looked at him in wonder.
"I... haven't sobered up from this drink yet, how can I attend any party tonight."
"Edgar!" Brimlad put down the chopsticks in his hand, "Don't try to replace such an excuse to excuse yourself, you have to attend this party for me!"
Edgar sighed helplessly in the face of his mother's unquestioning attitude, "Fine, I'll go to the party."
Brimlad smiled with satisfaction as she picked up her chopsticks again and said absently, "Your dad will be there too."
"Dad's going too?" Edgar suddenly had a bad feeling, "To do what?"
"Couldn't he attend?" Brimlad asked instead of answering.
"That's not what I meant. I ..." Edgar thought for a moment, thinking that perhaps he was being too sensitive, "Never mind, forget I asked." Getting his breakfast down, he got up and was about to leave.
At that moment, Brimlad spoke up and said, "Make sure you are there for me tonight or I won't spare you."
When she said that, Edgar realised at once that perhaps it wasn't that he was being too sensitive, but that they really were up to something.
He thought about it and said, "Mum, I can warn you, don't give me a hard time, there's a lot going on in the company these days and I'm really busy." Brimlad was not happy to hear this, "What do you mean, don't give you a hard time? Who do you think your parents are?"
"I'm not afraid that you'll arrange some fiancée for me without my permission or something."
"You're overthinking it." Brimlad sheepishly withdrew his gaze and waved his hand unkindly, "Isn't there a lot going on? Go to work." "I'll be going then."
Edgar gave her a deep look before striding off.
As soon as he left, Brimlad immediately put down his chopsticks, wrinkled his brow and whispered to himself, "Why is this brat so clever?" Knowing her son, a sudden announcement of a marriage between the two families this evening would certainly have pissed him off. Should we inform his father and put it off?
Brimlad thought about it, but finally gave up.
It was not his turn to object to a marriage that was supposed to be decided by his parents.
