Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1236: Can I go up to the first floor?

Edwina arrived home and had just walked in the door when her phone rang.

It was the manager.

She picked it up, "Manager."

"Edwina, where are you? You're going to be on stage later."

Edwina remembered that she had to represent the restaurant on stage, but she was already back.

"Manager, I'm sorry, I'm not feeling well, I'm going home, you can let someone else do it."

"Why didn't you tell me before you went home?"

"I'm sorry."

Edwina didn't know how to explain except that she was sorry.

Fortunately, the manager was a reasonable person, sighed and said, "Forget it, get some rest, I'll replace someone else to take over."

"Thank you, manager."

Hanging up the phone, she tossed it onto the couch and sat down, leaning back against it and looking up at the ceiling.

Bonnie heard the commotion and opened the door to her room, probing out and seeing Edwina sitting in the living room, immediately walking towards her. "Mum, why are you home so early?"

Edwina turned her head and her gentle gaze fell on his tender little face, her red lips curled, "Too bored, so I came home early."

"What about Uncle Edgar?" Bonnie asked curiously as she sat down next to her.

The smile on Edwina's lips froze at the mention of Edgar, she pursed her lips, sat up straight, took Bonnie into her arms and asked softly, "Do you like Uncle Edgar a lot?" "Yeah, I like it a lot." Bonnie nodded heavily.

Edwina stroked his head tenderly, the corners of her mouth curling a little helplessly as she murmured, "We have quite the same mother-son vision."

Her voice was a little too low for Bonnie to hear and her brow furrowed, "What did you say, Mum?"

"Nothing." Edwina took a deep breath, gathered all her thoughts and asked with a smile, "Did you finish your homework?"

"Done."

"That's great." Edwina complimented, a little distracted and unsure of what to say.

"Mum, did something happen to you?" Bonnie had been an attentive child growing up and could tell by the look on her face that something was wrong. Edwina shook her head, "No."

She rubbed Bonnie's face and continued, "Nothing is wrong mummy, don't worry."

Bonnie grinned, "That's good."

Edwina smiled, "Since it's okay, go take a shower and go to bed early, you have school tomorrow."

"Okay."

As she watched Bonnie walk into the room, the smile on Edwina's face slowly faded and she heaved a sigh.

She hadn't expected Bonnie to like Edgar.

It was hard to know whether to be happy or sad when the most she heard from him was "Uncle Edgar".

...

The next day, the marriage between the Khan family and the Boone family was on the news, interspersed with the love/hate relationship between Edgar, Elva and the unknown woman. The news directly defined the unknown woman as a mistress, saying that she had ruined Edgar and Elva's relationship.

The internet was also in an uproar, with the woman being called out.

The moment he saw the news, Edgar was furious and rushed to the dining room with his mobile phone and yelled at his parents who were eating breakfast, "You've really gone too far!" It was the first time in his life that he had been angry with his parents.

Baggott and Brimlad both froze in their tracks.

After a moment, Baggott was the first to snap back to attention, his eyebrows furrowed, "Edgar, what are you doing?"

"I've already said I won't agree to the union, but why are you sending out press releases?" Edgar questioned through clenched teeth, suppressing the anger that was churning in his mind. Baggott burst out laughing, "I thought it was about something, but it's about this. Boone and I have discussed it, there's no rush for you to get married, you can see what you can do first." "Get around?" Edgar suddenly felt tired, "Dad, why can't you understand what I'm saying? What I mean is that I don't like Elva!"

"How do you know you don't like it if you haven't seen it everywhere?" Baggott asked back in disbelief.

Edgar took a deep breath, "No need to be everywhere, I'll never like her in my life."

"You child!" Baggott got a little angry.

Brimlad, fearing a fight between father and son, quickly spoke up, "Come on, there's no need to fight about such things this early in the morning."

She then said to Edgar in a serious voice, "Son, we're doing this for your own good. Once the Khan family and the Boone family are married, those on the board won't dare to give you a hard time." "Heh." Edgar laughed coldly, "So you want me to have a reputation of being a womanizer?"

"That's not what I meant, I..." Brimlad was at a loss for words for a moment.

Edgar took a deep breath and spoke in a very firm tone, "Whether you are doing this for my own good or whatever, this marriage is something I will not agree to, so die of it."

With that, he turned and walked away.

This made Baggott so angry that he accused his wife, "Look at the son you've spoiled!"

"Come on, don't be angry." Brimlad patted him on the chest, "You know Edgar was a very opinionated boy growing up."

"Being opinionated isn't a bad thing, but it has to be considered realistically, right?" The more Baggott thought about it, the angrier he became, "No, he'll have to say yes to this marriage or not." At that, Brimlad frowned, "What do you want to do?"

Baggott thought for a moment and said, "You talk to Elva sometime and ask her to come to the house more often to create more opportunities for the two of them to be alone." Brimlad nodded, "Okay, I got it."

...

Eloise woke up early in the morning to a news alert on her phone, which she casually scanned as usual.

When she saw the name 'Edgar', she rushed to pick it up and clicked on the full article.

"A marriage?" She looked at the hot news on her phone screen in surprise.

Her eyebrows slowly furrowed, didn't her cousin say he wouldn't agree to it? Why was a press release still being sent out?

Just when she couldn't figure it out, there was a knock on the door.

She hurriedly put her phone away and raised her voice to ask, "Who is it?"

"Elo, it's me."

It was Hardcastle.

Eloise hurriedly got up and answered the door.

Hardcastle saw that she was still in her pyjamas and wrinkled her nose, "Why haven't you changed?"

"I'll change in a minute." Eloise hurriedly replied.

Hardcastle nodded, "I came to tell you that you don't have to help in the kitchen today, the lady has asked you to clean the upstairs rooms." Eloise listened, a little in disbelief, "I ... I can go up to the first floor?"

"Yeah, what's wrong?"

Eloise laughed dryly, "I thought Miss wouldn't let me go up to the first floor?"

"Miss will be going out with Prince Hector today, so you can go upstairs as much as you want."

Hearing that Hector was going out today, Eloise's heart instantly hit rock bottom; she had expected to see him.

She couldn't help but drop her eyes in despair, she should have thought how Earlene could possibly let her see Hector. Hardcastle saw that she looked uncomfortable and asked with concern, "What's wrong?"

Eloise gathered her thoughts and smiled, shaking her head, "Nothing."

"Good then, hurry up and change, then go upstairs and clean up when the lady and the others have gone out." "Good."

Eloise closed the door to her room and sighed in loss, it looked like she wouldn't be seeing Hector again today.
