Chapter 124: Love Triangle

Hector Rogers stood on stage and said a few brief words to end his speech to another round of applause from the stage. The auditorium side of the event is, sort of, over.

After the crowd had dispersed, just in time for lunch, the headmaster came over with a smile on his face and then spoke respectfully, "Mr Hector, Mr Egbert, we have booked a banquet nearby, I wonder if you have time to join us for a meal?" Egbert Chumley was also sponsored by the school and after graduating, he set up his own business, the Chumley Group, which has become so successful that Egbert Chumley is a regular sponsor of the school.

So he knew the headmaster well enough that Egbert Chumley didn't refuse to join him for dinner, and Eloise Thompson came with him, so naturally she had to come along too.

Hector Rogers wasn't going to go, but saw that Eloise Thompson was tagging along, so he didn't refuse.

The group arrived in the hotel's private room, which was crowded and lively.

Many people came up to greet Hector Rogers with a respectful attitude.

Hector Rogers nodded lightly in greeting and after everyone had said hello, they looked at Reeva Lawson beside him and one of them said, "This is Mr Hector's girlfriend, isn't it?" Others around the room followed suit.

After all, Reeva Lawson was very well dressed, elegant and kept following Hector Rogers, which is why people assumed she was Hector Rogers' girlfriend.

At these words, Reeva Lawson's face reddened and she kept her head down without speaking.

Eloise Thompson's eyes twinkled slightly, yes! The two of them really do look good together, even to an outsider meeting them for the first time.

At that moment, Hector Rogers pursed his lips and said, "No, you are mistaken, this is a common friend of mine, the first lady of the Lawson family, Reeva Lawson."

She had just taken a step, but just then, to her surprise, Hector Rogers, who was on the side, tugged on her wrist and made Eloise Thompson sit on his other side.

Everyone thought Reeva Lawson and Hector Rogers were a pair and Eloise Thompson and Egbert Chumley were a pair, but now ...

"As it should be." Hector Rogers spoke lightly in response.

Many more toasts to Hector Rogers followed.

It was only from the conversation that Eloise Thompson heard that Hector Rogers had been a philanthropist for many years, giving 100 million to the U of J every year.

Thinking about it, Eloise Thompson couldn't help but be a little impressed, no wonder! This man is in such a high position, and the headmaster invited him to be the guest of honour for the finale, all this is not unreasonable!

Of course Eloise Thompson sensed that Hector Rogers had come to be the grand finale today, not at all to come to the school festival with Reeva Lawson.
