Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1254: Just like her Hector is back
As soon as he stepped out onto the balcony, he saw Elo, who was downstairs on his tiptoes, shaking his hand at him.
Hector smiled, even his eyes became unconsciously gentle.
Looking up at Hector on the balcony, Eloise's whole heart felt like someone was scratching it, all kinds of uncomfortable and anxious. How could she get Hector to come down?
She quickly ran over to the pipe and patted it with her hand to see if it was solid.
Then, with her hands on it, she tried to climb up.
Seeing this, Hector was horrified and rushed to stop her, "You're not allowed to do that, it's not safe!"
A familiar voice, a familiar tone.
It was like her Hector had returned.
Eloise's eyes reddened and she tilted her head, forcing back her tears, taking a few steps back to take in his anxious, worried expression.
Her red lips curled up as she raised her voice and asked, "Prince Hector, would you be interested in hearing my story?"
Hector looked at her silently.
Her eyes were extraordinarily bright in the sunlight.
...
Hector slipped into the backyard when the butler and the others weren't looking.
Eloise was waiting there and when she saw him coming, she whispered and asked, "Have you been seen?"
"No."
Eloise's hanging heart finally fell back into place as she pointed to the adjacent flower room and said, "Let's go inside."
Hector followed her into the flower room and the two of them walked to the corner and sat down on the floor, shielding their figures by the flower pots.
Eloise's fingertips trembled with excitement at the prospect of having the person she had longed for, now beside her.
She squeezed her palms, "Prince Hector, are you all right?"
She had heard about his headache yesterday and had been worried about it, but had to wait until now to ask him herself.
"I'm fine." A light smile tugged at the corners of Hector's mouth.
Eloise nodded, "That's good that you're okay."
Hector looked around and asked, "Are you even here to look after the flowers now?"
"Yeah." Eloise teased herself, "I'm a veritable 'flower fairy' now."
Hector looked her up and down, his eyes finally falling on her little face.
There was something magical about it that you couldn't take your eyes off.
He couldn't help but smile, "Well, very much like a flower fairy."
"Would you like to hear me tell a story?" Eloise asked.
"Isn't that why I came down here, to hear your story?" Hector raised his eyebrows.
"Well, then, I'll tell my story."
...
Meanwhile, Edgar and Earlene had arranged to meet at the restaurant.
As soon as the two met, Edgar teased with a smile, "It's a good thing you were willing to come out and meet me, or I really would have had to come up to your house myself." "What exactly do you want with me?" Earlene sat down across from him and got straight to the point, not saying a word.
Edgar grinned, "Let's eat first and then we'll talk."
Earlene narrowed her eyes and said in a somewhat cold, hard tone, "Edgar, I don't have that much time for small talk, just say what you want."
Edgar stared at her for a moment before speaking slowly, "If I was looking for you to talk about my Hector ..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she saw Earlene stand up and spit out the words coldly, "I'm sorry to hear that!"
She turned around and was about to leave.
"Wait." Edgar hurriedly took her hand.
Earlene shook it off and turned her head, her cold gaze directed at him, "I shouldn't have come out to see you today."
"I was joking." Edgar held up his hands in a gesture of surrender, looking helpless.
Earlene sat down, legs folded, leaning back against the back of the chair, and said coldly, "Go ahead, what is it?"
Edgar skimmed sarcastically, "I asked you out to talk to you about the company we worked with before with the Rogers Group." "That's something you should be looking for Rawlins, what am I doing here?"
Since she had left the country, she had left all matters of the company in Rawlins' hands.
Which meant it had nothing to do with her at all now.
"Weren't you in charge of the research side of matters before? I'd like to ask you for a favour." Edgar stated his purpose. Earlene took a sip from the water on the table and said, "Go ahead, what's the favour?"
"Help me replace two researchers, ones I hope will have some success."
"Any more?"
"And there's ..." Tapping his fingers on the table a few times, Edgar continued, "I assume you'll be in the country for a while?" Earlene nodded, "So far it looks like it."
The wedding had not yet taken place and with the old lady's surgery still pending, she would be staying in the country for a short time. "Well then, I'd like you to mentor a few of the current research staff, they're a bit overwhelmed with their abilities."
Earlene looked embarrassed.
All she wanted to do was spend time with Hector every day, so she didn't have time to mentor anyone else.
She opened her mouth and was about to say no.
"I need your help." Edgar beat her to the punch, "The Institute is part of your Bartram family, so if you help me, you'll be helping yourself." Earlene was silent.
Edgar chuckled softly, "I know what you're struggling with, it's nothing but Hector."
"I don't have time."
In the end, Earlene refused.
She still wanted to put Hector first.
"Are you sure?" Although it was expected, Edgar was still a little disappointed.
He had asked her to supervise the researcher at the Institute for no other reason than to create opportunities for Eloise.
Now she'd turned it down, which meant the opportunity was gone.
"I'm sure." Earlene didn't want to waste time on the matter so she changed the subject, "Is there anything else?"
Edgar spread his hands, "No more. Let's order."
With that, he placed the menu in front of her.
But Earlene stood up and looked at him with an expressionless face, "Since we're done talking about things, there's no point in eating." With that, she strides away.
As he watched her walk out of the restaurant, Edgar couldn't help but shake his head, she was as self-conscious as ever.
He withdrew his eyes, pulled out his phone and sent a message to Eloise, telling her that Earlene had gone back.
...
"Do you feel sorry for the wife in the story?"
Eloise asked tentatively as she finished telling the story, her gaze locked on Hector's face.
Hector's brow furrowed and he nodded gently, "Pity."
"I feel pity too..."
Eloise was halfway through her sentence when her phone suddenly rang short, she looked at it and her face suddenly changed. Earlene was back!
Noticing that her face was not right, Hector asked with concern, "Are you alright?"
"Huh?" Eloise looked up, met his concerned gaze and curled her mouth, "I'm fine. Rather, it's time for you to go upstairs and rest now that you've heard your story."
