Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1258: Fighting violence with violence
Opposite her was a woman dressed in a luxurious manner, the face with delicate make-up was now written with anger.
The little boy she was holding had a scar on his face, flushed with blood, and looked a little frightening.
"Look at my son's face scratched like this, can a few words of apology solve it? What if this leaves a scar, what will we do in the future?" She questioned angrily.
Since she had answered the phone and rushed over to the school, she had apologised incessantly as soon as she met the head of the Khan family, even if they had cursed her badly, she had put up with it. "I'm sorry, so what do you think is the appropriate thing to do?" Edwina asked cautiously.
"Let my son catch one too."
Edwina didn't expect such a request and froze, then reacted and said, "Mama Durwyn, it's not quite right to fight violence with violence, is it?"
"No?" Durwyn's mother sneered, "So my son will have to suffer for nothing?"
"That's not what I meant. I'm saying I'll pay for the medical bills, whatever it costs you."
At that, the other man got upset and raised his voice to shout, "Do we look like we're bad with money? My son needs a punch back anyway!" Edwina was at a loss as to what to do with her attitude, which could not be explained in a few words.
If she really agreed to her terms and let her son punch Bonnie, she would be heartbroken.
Just then, Bonnie ran over, pointed at the other boy and said, "Mum, he threw my book first and didn't apologise, that's why I hit him."
At this, Edwina frowned. Although it was true that the other boy had messed with Bonnie first, it was still wrong to hit him.
"Bonnie, apologise."
Bonnie thought she had misheard, "Mum!!!"
"You're wrong if you hit someone, he threw your book, you can make him pick it up and apologise, but you can't do it."
Bonnie pursed her lips and her little face turned red, she just wouldn't apologise.
When Durwyn's mother saw that Bonnie was stubborn and refused to apologise, she said pointedly, "Your son has a lot of 'backbone'! He's so young to have injured someone, he's going to grow up! It's true that children from single-parent families are notoriously bad!"
Edwina frowned, "If your son hadn't thrown my son's books, my son wouldn't have hit him."
She had thought it was all Bonnie's fault and could understand the other mother's heart for her child, but did it have anything to do with whether or not Bonnie was a child of a single-parent family? "Yo, are you trying to say it's my son's fault now?" The boy's mother asked grimly.
Not wanting to talk to her too much, Edwina turned to Bonnie and said, "Apologise or I'll get angry!"
Bonnie's greatest fear was that she would get angry.
When she said that, Bonnie apologised even though she was reluctant, "I'm sorry, Durwyn, I shouldn't have hit you."
Durwyn raised her chin in an unassailable manner and said, "My mother said that apologies don't help, you have to let me hit you."
The teacher had been watching quietly from the sidelines, just to leave the matter of the fight to the parents to sort themselves out.
But after so much negotiation with the head of the Double Khan family, the matter remained unresolved.
She couldn't stand it anymore, so she came over, "Durwyn mum, it's always inevitable for these kids to fight, and Bonnie has apologised, so you should forgive him."
When she saw that the teacher was speaking up for Bonnie, Durwyn's mother became even more angry.
She pulled Durwyn in front of her, cupped his chin and turned his injured cheek towards Edwina and the others.
"Look guys, this is as simple as fighting? This is malicious wounding!"
"Isn't that a bit harsh of you?" The teacher's brow furrowed.
"It wasn't a hit on your children, so of course you think it's heavy." Durwyn's mother glared at Bonnie and continued, "The school has to do something about this." "What do you want the school to do about it?" The teacher asked.
"Make him drop out of school!"
At these words, both the teacher and Edwina were shocked.
It wasn't even serious enough to ask Bonnie to withdraw from school.
"As long as he withdraws from school, I can forget about this matter."
The teacher gave a helpless smile, "Mama Durwyn, it's not that serious. You can take your child to the doctor first and Bonnie's mother will cover any expenses incurred."
"I told you my family isn't short of money! I can't let my son get beaten up for nothing!"
No matter how much the teacher tried to persuade her, she just wouldn't reconcile.
"As long as he drops out of school, this matter will be forgotten." Her attitude was particularly resolute and there was no room for manoeuvre.
Edwina took a deep breath, "Mama Durwyn, why don't I let you fight a bit, okay?"
Before the other girl could react, she grabbed her hand and slapped it directly at her cheek. SMACK!
Everyone else froze.
Edwina couldn't care less about the pain, smiled at Durwyn's mum and asked, "Is that enough?" Durwyn's mum was completely confused, not expecting her to be the one to do it.
"A few more strokes if that's not enough."
With that, Edwina slapped twice more in quick succession.
Durwyn's mother hurriedly withdrew her hand, cursed "crazy" and left in a hurry with her child.
It was as if there was a flood of animals chasing after her.
"Mama Bonnie, are you all right?" The teacher looked at Edwina with worry.
The cheeks were swollen because of a few slaps in a row and Edwina's lack of hand.
Edwina smiled and shook her head, "I'm fine."
She looked down at Bonnie, who had tears in her eyes and a pair of small hands clenched tightly.
Her heart sank.
Edwina leaned down, reached out and touched Bonnie's head, and said softly, "Mummy is fine, don't worry."
"I'm sorry, Mum." Bonnie lowered her head and whispered her apologies.
"Good boy, don't hit anyone in the future, okay?" Edwina knew he was actually very aggrieved and couldn't bear to scold him.
Bonnie nodded heavily, "Got it."
"Bonnie's mum, it was really Durwyn's fault this time." The teacher looked at the red-eyed Bonnie and sighed softly, "That child has always been naughty and a pain in my ass, I will pay more attention to him in the future." Edwina smiled, "It's okay, teacher."
Edwina led Bonnie out of the school, hailed a taxi on the roadside and when she got into the car, she realised that Edgar had called several times.
She hurriedly called back.
They soon picked up.
Edgar's anxious voice came through, "Why aren't you answering your phone? Is something wrong?"
For so many years, she had always been on her own when it came to anything.
Suddenly someone cared about her, the tip of Edwina's nose couldn't help but sour. She hurriedly turned her face away and looked out of the window, not wanting Bonnie to see that she was crying. Not hearing any response, Edgar took down her mobile phone and looked.
The phone was ringing.
He tried to call out, "Edwina?"
"I'm here." Edwina sniffled, even though he couldn't see it, and squeezed out a smile, "I'm fine, don't worry."
