Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1267: Wait for me
"Edwina!"
Alger and the manager cried out in shock.
Edwina subconsciously closed her eyes.
It was over!
There was no way to avoid it!
But the pain she thought was coming didn't. Elva's voice rang out in her ears, "Get out of my way! Get out of the way!"
Edwina opened her eyes to a tall figure in front of her, and she called out in dismay, "Mr. Thomas!"
"Call the police!" Thomas grabbed Elva's hand with the bottle and said in a deep voice to the manager and the girls.
"Okay." The manager told Alger to hurry up and call the police.
"Let go of me!" Elva struggled hard.
Thomas spoke coldly, "Don't bother, there's no way I'll let go until the police arrive."
"Damn it!" Elva turned her head, plucked him hard, looked at Edwina and sneered, "You're really something! Edgar's not the only man you've seduced!"
At the sound of Edgar's name, the tip of Thomas' eyebrow twitched and he looked sideways at Edwina.
Edwina forced out a smile.
"Hey, do you like her too?" Elva saw something wrong in Thomas' expression and her eyes shone brightly. Thomas didn't respond.
Elva continued, unconcerned, "Did you know that she has a boyfriend?"
A boyfriend?
Thomas's eyes flashed with surprise and he looked at Edwina with a little more suspicion.
Edwina inexplicably felt a little weak.
After all, she had once told him that she didn't want to talk about relationships just yet, but then she turned her head and got together with Edgar. There was no telling what he would think of her if he knew her boyfriend was Edgar.
"You don't know, do you?" Elva suddenly burst out laughing, "Poor, poor thing, falling for a watery woman!"
"Shut up!" Thomas suddenly turned his head and snapped, "Please keep your mouth shut!"
"I'm not as dirty as she is! Seducing my man!" Elva shot back without flinching.
"You!"
Thomas was about to say something when someone suddenly tugged at the hem of his shirt and turned his head to see that it was Edwina. She shook her head gently, "Mr. Thomas, don't say anything. Also, let her go, she's from the Boone Family."
The Boone Family?
For a moment, Thomas seemed to figure something out.
He furrowed his brow tightly and asked tentatively, "What's going on with you and Mr. Edgar? Are you really with him?" Edwina nodded, "Yeah."
A wave of unspeakable emotions came over her.
"When did you get together?"
"The relationship was confirmed just a few days ago."
Thomas nodded, a hint of bitterness in his smile, "So it's Mr. Edgar you like."
What about not wanting to talk about feelings for the time being was all a lie.
It was just that there was someone he liked in his heart.
"I'm sorry." Edwina apologised numbly.
"Don't apologise." Thomas didn't mean to blame her.
Feelings were not meant to be forced.
He let go of Elva's hand and said, "Since you are a Boone Family, don't do anything to bring shame to the Boone Family!"
"It's my freedom to do what I want to do, it's not your turn to lecture me!"
Elva raised the broken bottle to Edwina and warned viciously, "This isn't over, you'll have to wait!"
With that, she slammed the bottle down at Edwina's feet and took off.
The flying shards cut through Edwina's arm, and blood immediately flowed out.
"Edwina!"
Alger jumped in shock and rushed forward to see how Edwina was hurt.
"I'm fine." Edwina fought through the pain and squeezed out a smile to reassure her.
"How can you be fine when you're bleeding?" Alger gave her a look that was both anxious and distressed.
The manager saw that the wound wasn't small and frowned, "Ivor, you take Edwina to the hospital first."
Alger nodded busily, "Yes."
"I'll drive you there." Thomas said.
With that, Thomas led them out of the restaurant.
Watching their backs as they left, the manager sighed heavily and bowed to all the customers, "Sorry for the delay in your meal. Today there is a 20% discount for all." The guests were all happy to hear about the discount.
The restaurant was back to normal business, but the manager's face was grave and he would have to talk to Edwina some time.
...
When we arrived at the hospital, the doctor checked that there was nothing serious and told the nurse to clean and dress Edwina's wound.
While Edwina was cleaning her wounds, Alger pulled Thomas outside and whispered, "Mr. Thomas, if you can, can you persuade Edwina that she and that Edgar don't fit at all?" "Why?"
"Because they don't fit together." Alger thought for a moment and then said, "More importantly, the Khan family and the Boone family are going to be married, so how could this Khan family possibly agree to them being together?" "Indeed." Thomas nodded.
He looked over at Edwina not far away, taking in her pretty side and smiling to himself, "Do you think I can persuade her?"
"Not even if I can't. Otherwise this would have happened again today."
It wasn't that Alger was being alarmist, but with Elva being as crazy as she was, she would never let Edwina go.
"Okay, I'll try then."
Edwina turned her head and saw the two of them talking about something, and her eyes couldn't help but have more than a hint of suspicion.
After dressing the wound, Edwina got up and walked out.
"What are you talking about?" She asked suspiciously as she looked at Thomas and then at Alger.
"Nothing." Alger smiled, glanced at her bandaged arm, changed the subject and said, "Try to stay out of the water when you get home, and if you need any help, you can ask for Mr. Thomas."
With that, she pulled Thomas over to her.
Edwina looked at Thomas and let out a laugh, "I'm not weak enough to need to be looked after."
"Whether you need it or not, let Mr. Thomas take you home."
Alger pushed her into Thomas's arms and fled.
"I'm sorry." Edwina hurriedly backed away.
"It's okay." The arms were empty and Thomas's heart followed.
The atmosphere between the two was a little awkward.
At that moment, Alger, who had already run away, suddenly called out, "Edwina, I'll help myself back to the shop, you go home and rest."
Seeing Alger waving his hand, Edwina lost her smile helplessly.
"Mr. Thomas, Alger is such a personality, don't worry about it." Edwina turned her head to Thomas.
Thomas, Edwina gave a smile, "No."
Once again the two fell silent.
After a while, Thomas spoke again, "I'll take you home."
Edwina said softly, "Yes".
On the way back, the car was quiet and Edwina kept looking out of the window.
Thomas gave her a sideways glance and was the first to break the silence.
"I didn't expect you to be with Mr. Edgar."
