Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1271: Make an end of it
"Who the hell are you?"
Hector asked again.
This time the tone was much colder and harder.
Eloise laughed softly, "It doesn't matter who I am, do you just really want to marry Earlene?"
Hector was silent.
He had actually been thinking about this for the past few days.
He knew nothing of his past and would be afraid of causing harm to his original wife and children, as she had said. Wife and child.
Hector thought of the two children he had seen the other day.
The heart, suddenly, felt like something had tugged at it, a raw pain.
If they were really his children, how could he leave them behind and marry someone else?
And...
The image of Eloise's heartbreakingly crying face came to mind, and Hector couldn't help but feel a little irritated.
"It's not up to me to decide whether to tie the knot or not." Hector said.
Eloise's brow furrowed, "As long as you don't want to tie the knot, can Earlene force you?"
"I ..."
Hector had just opened his mouth when the door to the room was suddenly opened from outside.
Pop!
All the lights in the room turned on and it was instantly bright.
Momentarily uncomfortable with the sudden light, Eloise squinted her eyes before she had a chance to see who it was. Earlene's chilling voice rang in her ears.
"How dare you break into your master's room in the middle of the night!"
Eloise's heart instantly sank to the bottom.
It was over!
...
"So... that's how you got thrown out?" Brimlad asked.
Eloise nodded, "Yeah."
Edgar frowned, "What about the Rawlins?"
"At the time Earlene was angry and insisted on kicking me out of the Bartram family, Rawlins had no choice but to do as she was told."
In fact, she had prepared for the worst long before she snuck into Hector's room.
But when it actually happened, it was still a little too much to take in.
"And what was Hector's reaction?" Edgar asked again.
Eloise laughed softly helplessly, "He... doesn't even know Elo, how can he react?"
Brimlad gave her palm a heartfelt squeeze and said, "Don't think too much, there's always a new way."
"Auntie, I'm not overthinking it, I just feel like I've done a really stupid thing."
Now that she was out of the Bartram family, it was really hard to go back in.
"It wasn't stupid at all. You're in a hurry too, I'm sure Hector will remember you if he loves you so much." Brimlad reassured her gently.
Eloise pondered for a moment and looked up at Edgar, "Cousin, there is absolutely no way we can let their wedding go off without a hitch."
Once the wedding had gone ahead, there would really be no room for redemption.
Edgar nodded, "I know, I'll get Rawlins and have him sort this out."
"Thank you, cousin."
She had been a constant source of trouble for them since she had met them, and when Hector returned, she would make sure he thanked her brother-in-law and the others properly. Edgar, Edwina smiled, "No need to be so polite as a family."
Then he picked up his suit jacket, "Nothing else, I'm off to the office."
"Eloise, you go upstairs and rest. No matter what comes up, your spirit is most important, and you can't solve problems until you're well." Brimlad said. "Okay."
Eloise obediently went upstairs and when she returned to her room, she flung herself onto the bed and buried her face in the pillow.
Her mind replayed everything that had happened last night, Hector's confusion, Earlene's anger, Rawlins' helplessness.
A sourness rushed to her heart and tears flowed.
She rolled over and lay flat on her back, teary-eyed, staring at the ceiling.
What was it going to take to get Hector to remember her?
...
On the way to the office, Edgar called Rawlins.
As soon as he got through, he got straight to the point and asked, "What's going on?"
"I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I can't help you this time." The Rawlins on the other end of the line made his intentions clear.
"Why?"
"That's my sister, and her happiness is most important."
Edgar snorted at that, "Rawlins, that's not like you to say. Are you really going to stand by and watch your sister marry another man?" "It's not another man, it's a very good man."
Edgar didn't know what to say for a moment and was silent for a few seconds before speaking, "A meeting?"
"I'm at Norman's Golf Club, come on over."
Hanging up the phone, Edgar made a U-turn at the junction ahead and headed for the address Rawlins had given.
Arriving at the club, Edgar was shown the way by the staff and met Rawlins.
"Want to play two shots?" Rawlins asked.
"Not in the mood." Edgar refused outright.
Rawlins smiled, turned his head to the lush green lawn and laughed to himself, "If you're not in the mood, then I should be even less so."
"What the hell should we do now?" Edgar sat down across from him.
"What do you want to do?" Rawlins withdrew his gaze and dropped to his body.
Edgar sighed, "Just don't know, that's why I came to see you."
Rawlins couldn't help but smile, "And you think I must have a solution?"
Edgar gave him a look and didn't say anything.
Rawlins mused for a moment and continued, "Earlene is my sister, and seeing how much she's looking forward to her wedding to Hector, I really can't bear to spoil it somehow." "So you want to stand by and watch her marry another man?" Edgar asked.
"Of course I don't want to." Rawlins sighed, "But what can you do if you don't want to?"
"Stop the wedding." Edgar said, "All that can be done now is to stop the wedding from taking place."
At that Rawlins laughed out loud, "Mr Edgar, you think it's so simple, a word to stop it will stop it?"
"If you want to stop it, you can definitely stop it." Edgar thought for a moment and said, "Tell you what, let's see if there's anything we can do to stop the wedding from taking place." "Thing?" Rawlins frowned, "What could be the matter?"
He then shook his head, "Unless there's a natural disaster like an earthquake or something, don't try to stop it."
"Think about it more seriously." Edgar turned the tables and asked, "What's my Hector's status now?"
"The usual, I guess. But the last two days I've heard from the maids that he's been dithering a lot." "Dazed?" Edgar frowned, "It's not like he's remembering anything, is it?"
Rawlins laughed, "I wouldn't know about that."
"My cousin got kicked out and is having a hard time with it. Making everyone feel bad because of your sister, to be precise."
Edgar took a deep breath, "We should replace a way to put an end to this."
Rawlins looked at him for a moment before nodding slowly, "Yes, put an end to it."
"Then we'll wait for your good news." Edgar got up and held out his right hand. Rawlins stood up too, shook his hand and said, "I hope I can give you good news." "Definitely!"
After Edgar left, Rawlins sat down and was left alone to think for a long time before getting up and leaving the club.
