Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1280: It's better to have a long pain than a short one
"There's no way I'm apologizing!"
Edgar made his intentions clear straight away.
Elva had hurt Edwina, he hadn't even settled the score with her yet, and now he wanted him to apologise, he was simply delusional! "You son of a bitch!" Baggott was so angry that he raised his hand to hit him.
"Old Fang, take it easy!" Brimlad hurriedly stopped him, "No matter how wrong the child is, you can't do it!"
Baggott saw Edgar's determined face and could only lower his hand in anger, "You've spoiled him!"
Brimlad was busy nodding, "Yes, I'm spoilt, so I'll sort this out."
After calming Baggott down, she turned to her son, "Edgar, everything your father and I have done, we have done for your own good."
Edgar grimaced and didn't say a word.
Brimlad sighed softly, "I know you can't understand what your father and I are trying to do right now, but you will when you become a father yourself." "Mum, I wasn't wrong, why should I apologise?" Edgar asked.
He really wanted to know what their reasons were for making him apologise.
"And I know you're not wrong, but in the eyes of the public and the Boone Family people, you are, and you betrayed Elva."
Brimlad felt like a stone was weighing down on her heart just thinking about all the things that had been said about him online, so hard that she couldn't breathe. "So what? Do you guys feel the same way?"
It didn't matter what other people called him, what mattered was what they thought.
"We certainly don't feel that way." Brimlad sighed again, "I know you like Edwina, but has it ever occurred to you that your liking might be a burden to people?" Edgar frowned.
"Let's say this time, wouldn't it hurt you to have her called a mistress and all sorts of abusive words because of you?"
Heartbroken!
Of course he was heartbroken!
Otherwise he wouldn't have left work early to be with her.
Brimlad laughed softly and continued, "But if she hadn't been with you, this wouldn't have happened and she wouldn't have been hurt or called names."
Although he didn't like his parents' attitude, his mother was right; Edwina's life would have been peaceful if it hadn't been for him.
Seeing that his attitude had loosened a little, Brimlad struck while the iron was hot, "You and she are not from the same world, if you really like her, you shouldn't have brought her into yours, it's really not fair to her." Edgar, who had been firm, began to doubt the decision he had made...
Had he really done the wrong thing?
Edgar is having doubts about his feelings.
Brimlad and Baggott exchanged a look, knowing full well that the words were having an effect.
"Edgar, before you do anything, think about the other person first, otherwise invariably, you will hurt them." Baggott said at length.
Edgar laughed out loud, "Dad, Mum, aren't you guys proud of yourselves now? Catching my soft spot."
His soft spot was Edwina.
As he told Edwina, he wanted to protect her from the slightest bit of harm.
But as long as she was with him, Elva was sure to have no end of trouble with her.
This time it was just a superficial injury, what about next time?
He didn't dare to think about it.
Dropping his hands to his side and clenching them slowly, Edgar took a deep breath, "I know what to do. Still, I'm not going to apologise." "You!"
Baggott was so angry he wanted to scold him again, but was stopped by Brimlad, "Well, my son knows what to do, so let's not say any more." "He'd better know or this isn't over." Baggott warned.
Edgar sneered, "Don't worry, Dad, I'll make sure you're satisfied."
With that, he ran upstairs, leaving Baggott and Brimlad alone.
"Baggott, what do you think Edgar will do?" Brimlad asked.
Baggott grunted, "What do you think?"
Brimlad shook his head, "I don't really know."
"If he really liked that Edwina, he would have made the right choice."
Brimlad sighed, "Let's hope he doesn't blame us."
Perhaps she could have approved of her son's relationship with Edwina if she hadn't been thinking about the bigger picture.
...
Eloise was long asleep by the time Edgar got home yesterday.
Early the next morning, she came downstairs and saw Edgar rushing to be concerned, "Cousin, what's with the video?" The moment she saw the video, she was shocked.
It was completely unimaginable that Elva would do something so terrible.
"Elva went to the restaurant to look for trouble with Edwina, and it happened to be filmed by a guest." Edgar said simply.
Eloise frowned, "That guy went too far, how come he posted it online and it became hot news?"
She found it somewhat baffling.
"Maybe the internet is too idle." Edgar skimmed his lips.
"Have you read the comments?" Eloise asked.
Edgar nodded, "Read them."
"So what do you think?"
Edgar smiled bitterly, "What can I think?"
"Are you going to let Edwina get called out for nothing like this? Without explaining yourself?"
This time, not only was Edwina physically hurt, but her mind was also hurt.
Eloise dreaded to imagine what state she would be in.
Edgar was silent for a few seconds before speaking slowly, "I will explain myself and ..."
He paused, "I'll break up with her."
"Break up?" Eloise was shocked, unable to understand his decision, "Are you crazy? It's only been a long time since you decided to be together, and you're breaking up?" Edgar tilted his face up and his eyes closed, a bitter smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, "I have to accept it even if I don't. Being with me will only hurt her more." All he wanted was for her to be flat and Bonnie's.
Looking at his somewhat pained expression, Eloise's heart suddenly sank, she took a deep breath and asked, "Cousin, won't breaking up hurt Edwina?"
Edwina liked him so much and it was so hard to be together, if we broke up like this, it would actually hurt Edwina more.
"I've already decided." Edgar said, "It's better to have a long pain than a short one."
He had said that, then she couldn't say anything else.
"I hope you don't regret it." Eloise said.
Don't regret it?
Edgar laughed to himself, how could he not regret it?
Who knows how hard it was for him to make this decision, how much his heart ached, but it was worth the pain as long as he could bring peace back to Edwina's life.
Seeing that he was in pain, Eloise still couldn't bear it and suggested, "Cousin, it's not easy for Hector and I to go all the way, but we've persevered. I think you guys might be able to try and hang in there too." Edgar didn't say anything.
"Maybe, and I mean maybe, Edwina would have overcome any obstacle to be with you, all the more reason why you shouldn't give up then."
With that out of the way, Eloise couldn't say anything more, except that she hoped he would think it through and not make a decision he would regret for the rest of his life.
