Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1283: I don't want it!

"The scandal is false." Eloise said. "I know."

Edwina remembered the scandal, something about how Edgar actually liked Earlene and that the marriage with the Boone Family was only for the other's power.

But then Edgar had explained to her that he was just doing Miss. Eloise a favour.

"If they get married, won't that make your husband a bigamist?" Edwina asked.

Eloise nodded, "Well, it's bigamy."

"Then how could Earlene do that?" Edwina couldn't help but be heartbroken for her.

If Earlene did marry Hector, it would hurt Miss. Eloise too much.

That was the beloved man that Miss. Eloise had waited so long for.

Eloise smiled bitterly, "I wonder that too."

Edwina couldn't help but feel for her and reached out to cover her hand, comforting her, "I know it must be hard for you inside, but as long as they're not married, you have a chance to get the man back." She frowned, "No, you can't use snatch, that was your person in the first place."

Eloise laughed helplessly and teased herself, "Now that is indeed a snatch."

"Miss. Eloise, if there is anything you need from me, just ask." Edwina knew that there was really only so much she could do to help, but what little she could do was a little help. "Thank you, Edwina."

"You're welcome to me."

Eloise thought again of Edgar's decision and moved her lips to tell her, but in the end held back.

She simply said, full of meaning, "Edwina, I hope you and my cousin will be happy."

"Thanks."

Looking at the happy smile of the clueless woman, Eloise's heart felt like a clogged ball of cotton. She picked up her coffee and took a large sip in one gulp before letting out a long breath.

Everyone has their own troubles, let's just hope they can all be resolved soon.

...

As soon as he finished work, Edgar drove to Edwina's place.

He parked his car in front of the neighbourhood and his eyes fell on Edwina's building.

Seeing the lights on her floor, the faint yellow light was unexpectedly warm.

His grip on the steering wheel subconsciously tightened, a bitter smile spreading across his lips.

Before coming here, he had done a lot of psychological building, and had easily made up his mind to come over and ask her to break up.

But when he arrived here, everything collapsed.

Unwillingness and guilt churned violently in his heart.

The minutes ticked by and he still didn't have the courage to get out of the car.

After about half an hour, a mobile phone suddenly rang in the car.

When he picked it up, his heart lurched.

It was Edwina.

He looked up at her floor, took a deep breath and picked it up.

The soft voice belonging to Edwina rang in his ears, "Edgar, are you off work?"

His throat suddenly became hard, and with it, his voice became hoarse, "Yeah. Off duty."

Hearing something wrong in his voice, Edwina asked with concern, "What's wrong with you?" "Nothing."

Edwina didn't think much of it and hesitated before asking cautiously, "So will you come over?"

It was time to say something.

Edgar was silent for a few seconds, then closed his eyes and whispered back, "I'll be downstairs, come down for a minute."

"You're just downstairs." As soon as Edwina heard this, she immediately ran to the balcony and looked into the distance, and saw the car parked in front of the cell. "You come straight up. The security guards know you." Edwina said.

"I'm not going up, you can come down."

Edwina still didn't think much of it, "Okay, I'll go down then."

She turned to go back inside and Bonnie happened to come out of her room and saw her going out and asked, "Mum, where are you going?"

"Uncle Edgar is downstairs, I'm going down for a bit." She replied as she changed her shoes.

"There's Uncle Edgar." Bonnie's little face lit up, "I'll come down with you."

Edwina smiled, "No, you stay home, he'll be up later."

"Oh." Bonnie watched the door close, then walked to the living room and sat down, waiting for Edgar to come up.

Edgar had his head down, hiding his expression in the darkness, unreadable.

Knock, knock!

There was a knock on the car window and he looked over his shoulder to meet Edwina's crystal eyes, and his heart snapped.

The window slowly came down and Edwina looked at him with a smiling Brimlad, "Why don't you go up there?"

Edgar looked at her quietly for a moment before speaking slowly, "I need to talk to you."

"What is it?"

Edwina was oblivious to what was about to happen, her face still beaming with delight.

Edgar stepped out of the car, his gaze locked on her small face, a hint of affection welling up in his eyes.

"What's wrong?" Edwina sensed that he was not in the right mood and her smile faded a little, concern and confusion appearing in her eyes.

"Edwina, be prepared for what I'm going to say next."

His expression was strained and Edwina slowly curbed her smile as a bad feeling came over her.

Edgar clenched his fist and then unclenched it, his thin lips parting, "Let's break up."

The wind was a little strong and cool at night.

Edwina could not even hear his words.

But even if she couldn't hear, tears were still flowing down her face.

Seeing her crying, Edgar subconsciously raised his hand to help her wipe her tears, but when his hand was halfway up, he withdrew it, curling his fingers into a fist. Edwina suddenly smiled, "You want to break up?"

Edgar closes his eyes in pain, "I'm sorry."

Edwina lifted her hand to wipe away the tears and sniffled, "Reason."

"We're not right for each other, you'll get hurt with me."

This reason made Edwina laugh out loud, a sarcastic laugh, "If you didn't think we were right for each other, why did you ask in the first place? Why did you give me hope?"

"I ..." Edgar wanted to say it was because he liked her, but the words came to his lips and he couldn't say them.

Now, who was he to say that he liked her, that he loved her.

Edwina tilted her face up and tried to force back her tears, but they just couldn't be controlled to fall down. "Edgar, are you afraid that Elva will turn against me? Is that why you're trying to protect me in this way?" Edgar was silent.

"I guessed right." Edwina burst into more tears, "Didn't you say you would protect me well? Is this the way to do it? I don't want it!"

"I don't want to" almost came out in a roar.

She cried even harder, her hot tears falling like broken pearls.

"I'm sorry." Edgar didn't know what to say except that he didn't know what to say.

Seeing her cry made his heart ache as if it was being clutched hard.

"I don't want to be sorry!"

Edwina flung herself into his arms, opened her arms and hugged his waist tightly, buried her face into his arms and said sullenly, "I don't want to break up, I just want to be with you."
