Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 160: What's it to do with her
Reeva Lawson was standing right next to Hector Rogers, and her gaze flickered slightly when she saw Eloise Thompson, one hand unconsciously clenching.
She didn't expect Hector Rogers to rush to Eloise Thompson's hotel as soon as he got off the plane... did he care that much about this woman?
Looking back, Hector Rogers was already striding forward, and Reeva Lawson rushed to follow.
The four met at the entrance of the hotel and Eloise Thompson looked at Hector Rogers in front of her and was at first a little confused as to why he was here. What was Hector Rogers doing here? From her initial disbelief, Eloise Thompson came back to her senses, inexplicably nervous and distraught.
But seeing her standing with Reeva Lawson, subconsciously she spoke up and asked, "What brings you here?"
Hector Rogers responded, "Come on a business trip."
His voice was light, no emotion could be heard, but Eloise Thompson clearly sensed that the man seemed a little angry, and as to what, Eloise Thompson could imagine.
Having said that, Hector Rogers looked to Egbert Chumley, who also spoke politely and asked, "Mr Hector, Miss Reeva."
Egbert Chumley was quite surprised at first, not expecting Hector Rogers and Eloise Thompson to turn up at this hotel. Hector Rogers nodded lightly in response.
Reeva Lawson smiled and said, "Is Mr Egbert here on business too? What a coincidence that you and Eloise Thompson met. "I think so too." Egbert Chumley had a twinkle in his eye.
He didn't expect to meet Eloise Thompson on the plane, and he just ran into her near Times Square, so it was probably fate!
Noticing that Hector Rogers had darkened a bit, Eloise Thompson was a bit embarrassed and said, "Egbert, it's getting late, so go home and get some rest!"
Egbert Chumley and Eloise Thompson don't live in the same hotel? At that, Hector Rogers' heart finally lightened up a little, but only a little; the man's gloomy aura was still intact.
Egbert Chumley didn't say anything else, and after a quick hello, he gave Hector Rogers a faint look before leaving, somehow sensing that the bigger reason Hector Rogers was in New York was because of Eloise Thompson.
It had been rumoured that Hector Rogers was going to marry Reeva Lawson, but after several encounters, it became clear to Egbert Chumley that he and Eloise Thompson were involved in an unspoken relationship. With doubts, Egbert Chumley drives away from the hotel entrance.
With Egbert Chumley gone, the three men in the same place were a little embarrassed when Hector Rogers spoke to Reeva Lawson, "You go ahead and check in."
Reeva Lawson hesitated, a little reluctantly, but she was on a business trip as a secretary, and she was supposed to do things like check-in.
Eventually Reeva Lawson nodded, and with a faint glance at Eloise Thompson, she stepped into the hotel.
When Hector Rogers and Eloise Thompson were left alone, Eloise Thompson was at a loss for words, so she asked, "How many days are you here on business? How come you happen to be staying at this hotel too?" The bottom line is, why didn't he tell himself in advance?
"Because you live here, of course." Hector Rogers opened his mouth in response, what was he doing here if Eloise Thompson wasn't here, and as for coming for a few days, naturally he was waiting for her to leave when he did.
"Oh." Eloise Thompson responded, and for some reason she had a vague feeling that Hector Rogers was here more because he was looking for himself than for work.
No, he brought Reeva Lawson with him, what does he have to do with himself! Eloise Thompson, just get over it, it's all just a coincidence.
That's when Hector Rogers was heard to speak up and ask, "Have you eaten yet?"
"Hmm." Eloise Thompson nodded as the man in front of her asked again, "With Egbert Chumley?"
The man's mellow voice carried a hint of gloom, Eloise Thompson hurriedly shook her head, "No..." After she finished, she subconsciously opened her mouth and added, "That day when I was on a business trip, I just happened to meet Egbert, just finished eating out with my assistant and ran into him outside again, so Mr Egbert gave us a lift back..."
After saying that, Eloise Thompson realised that she had nothing to explain, and that it was none of her business if Hector Rogers misunderstood.
At these words, Hector Rogers' mouth curled in a suddenly cheerful mood as he pulled Eloise Thompson around and walked away.
"What are you doing?" Eloise Thompson's asked in a surprised voice, not going back to the hotel at this time of night?
"I haven't eaten, eat with me." Hector Rogers opened his mouth in response.
Eloise Thompson was pulled into the car and she couldn't help but frown slightly, thinking this seemed a little out of place. "What about Miss Reeva?"
Hector Rogers asked as he started the car and glanced at Eloise Thompson, "What's it to do with her?"
At that, Eloise Thompson's eyes flickered slightly, they were all going to have a baby, what was this about Hector Rogers?
Eloise Thompson pursed her lips to ask, but hesitated for a moment, fearing that if she broke the story, there would probably be no more possibilities between herself and Hector Rogers.
A faint smile curled the corners of Eloise Thompson's mouth, as if she were laughing at herself, and eventually she said nothing more as the car started up and left the hotel's entrance.
...
On Reeva Lawson's side, after checking in and out, Hector Rogers and Eloise Thompson had disappeared, along with the car they had just arrived in.
At once, Reeva Lawson blushed.
She took out her phone and rushed to call Hector Rogers, the call was quickly answered and Reeva Lawson spoke up and asked, "Hector, where have you been?"
"Get out, replace yourself something to eat and get an early night's rest."
"Huh? You..."
"That's it, hang up now."
Having said that, Hector Rogers hung up the phone.
Reeva Lawson stood in place clutching her phone tightly, a face almost twisted with anger.
Hector Rogers had left her alone at the hotel, and Reeva Lawson had almost thought that he had gone to dinner with Eloise Thompson, with whom he should have been dining. Eloise Thompson the bitch, it's all her fault!
Reeva Lawson's gaze was so dark that she wanted to cut Eloise Thompson into pieces.
...
This way, Eloise Thompson and Hector Rogers arrived at the restaurant.
The restaurant was quiet and elegant and Hector Rogers ordered quite a bit of food, at which Eloise Thompson couldn't help but say, "Can you finish it?" "You eat with me."
"Told you I'd already eaten." Eloise Thompson spoke up.
But Hector Rogers ignored it and went on to order a few things that Eloise Thompson liked to eat.
