Chapter 372: Wanting to be by your side

He kissed her cheek gently and tucked her in before Hector went out to take care of company business.

It wasn't until five o'clock in the afternoon that Eloise woke up from her sleep, her body feeling tired and somehow sleepy lately.

She peeks to her side, which is empty, and is answered by the sound of keyboard tapping at the door.

When she saw the neatly folded clothes at hand, Eloise couldn't help but inwardly praise him for being so thoughtful.

As she walked out of the lounge, she saw Hector flicking through his papers, so Eloise sat down and swiped her phone.

The space was quiet for a while, with only the sound of paper rubbing together.

Although they did not speak, Eloise looked up every now and then and met Hector's smiling eyes, which was very satisfying. Tired of sitting on the sofa, Eloise went for a walk and returned with two cups of coffee.

Seeing Hector's fingers still tapping away at the keyboard, Eloise knew he must be having some trouble right now.

Hector took a sip of his coffee and then went back to work, not looking up the whole time.

It wasn't until the evening that Hector got up from his seat and briefly stretched his muscles when he heard a clicking sound.

A quick glance at Eloise revealed that she was intently reading a book.

Hector crept up behind her and, when she wasn't looking, gave her a peck on the cheek.

Eloise jerked back from the sudden attack to see Hector looking at her with a wicked grin on his face.

"Why do you do that every time, one more time and I'll ignore you."

She said and pretended to be angry and turned her head to the side.

Hector hurriedly sat down beside her and made amends, "Alright, I'm wrong wifey, promise there won't be a next time, it's been hard for you to stay here with me this afternoon." Eloise sniffed and leaned into his arms, saying softly, "I know you're busy right now, but take care of yourself too."

"Prince, may I come in?"

Just as the two were making out, Marian's voice came through the door.

"Come in." Hector said coldly.

Marian entered and saw the two snuggled up on the sofa and couldn't help but clench his palms and look at Eloise with a chill in his gaze.

But there was an immediate change of attitude when it came time to report the news to Hector.

"Prince, we have found out the organisation behind those two, the duo belong to a mafia in Germany, a mafia whose members are mostly people who are up to no good."

Hearing Marian's words, Hector frowned slightly and looked at Eloise with worry.

If this group appeared here, then they would inevitably target those around him, and then his Eloise would probably be in danger.

No, he would never let his Eloise be in danger.

With that in mind, Hector turned to Marian and instructed, "You will stay by Eloise's side from now on and protect her."

Hector was confident in Marian's skills, after all, he had brought her up by himself.

Eloise had always picked Solomon up from school and back because of the current family troubles, and today she had forgotten.

After hanging up Solomon's phone, Eloise hurried out of the office with Marian following behind her.

When they arrived at the nursery, Solomon immediately pounced on Eloise, saying sweetly, "Mummy!"

When Marian saw Solomon, she tried to say hello, but Solomon only gave a faint response and went back to her lovemaking with Eloise.

This made Marian's heart feel a little bad, and she looked at Eloise's back with some jealousy.

Ever since this woman had appeared, both Hector and Solomon had become much colder towards her, and it was all because of her.
