Love Comes To Me
Chapter 488: Check me out one by one!

The more Rupert found the bowl of bird's nest suspicious, the more his expression became condensed.

Mrs Matriarch, still not responding, enquired, "Aren't pregnant women allowed to eat bird's nest?"

Mr Fletcher shook his head and explained, "What Rupert means is that inside the bird's nest, there might be something else."

Mrs Matriarch then realised that this explanation from Rupert made the most sense.

She looked to the butler at the side and barked coldly, "Where is the bird's nest that you gave Eloise yesterday? Bring it all here and check it out for me one by one!" When the servants heard this, they all looked at each other.

It had been a night of so much shock that it was a little numb at the moment.

At these words cold sweat also broke out on the butler's head, which would have made his hands tremble.

Knowing the seriousness of the matter, he did not dare to be negligent.

"Yes ma'am, I'll bring it right over!"

The butler nodded in response and bowed as he retreated.

In a short while, the butler and a few servants brought all the things over.

The team of doctors who were called over immediately tested the bird's nests with instruments.

After a long time of checking box after box, the doctor who was leading the team stopped in front of a gift band.

In his hand, he picked up the box of bird's nests inside and frowned.

There is something wrong with this box of bird's nest.

Mr Fletcher was staring on, and this time his face became a little more grave, the first to guess the outcome.

Mrs Matriarch pressed on, saw the doctor stop and scrambled up to ask questions.

"Doctor, how's it going? Something wrong with these bird's nests?"

The doctor picked up the bird's nest and examined it again carefully before saying with a heavy face, "This bird's nest has a trace amount of abortifacient pills mixed in it, which is extremely harmful to the pregnant woman's body. Fortunately, it was detected the first time it was taken, otherwise, if it is taken for a long time, I am afraid that both the fetus and the adult will ..."

The doctor did not go on, shaking his head and sighing again from the sidelines.

Mixing abortifacients into nutrition and feeding it to pregnant women is just plain evil!

The doctor's words caused an uproar. The crowd was in a state of panic.

Of these, Mr Fletcher and Mrs Matriarch had the most ugly faces.

Mrs Matriarch, in particular, nearly rolled her eyes and fainted, taking a few steps backwards before she could barely keep her footing. This is not just about harming children, but even adults!

"Are you all right." Mr Fletcher stepped forward to hold her up worriedly.

Mrs Matriarch shook her head and tried to compose herself.

Mr Fletcher slapped his palm against the wall with an iron grip and a muffled thud.

A cold, stern gaze swept over the group of servants, his eyes taking on a chill of their own.

"Bastards! How dare you do such a thing, that we have such scum mixed up in the Rogers family. Whoever did this has the sense to come out and admit it themselves now!"

The subordinates all shivered as they looked at their shaken master, and no one dared to speak.

The whole Rogers family is overjoyed at Eloise's pregnancy.

Mrs Matriarch is particularly attached to her unborn grandchildren, hand-picking foreign brands for their nutrition.

The supplements sent to the home are from a regular source.

But these supplements that were found to be faulty in front of her were not the ones she had someone buy back.

Mrs Matriarch looked at the box of bird's nest that was found to be faulty and suddenly asked.

"Butler, where did all these bird's nests come from, why haven't I seen them before!"

The steward sniffed and rushed forward to check.

The bird's nest in front of you is really not the same brand as the others.

He suddenly clapped his hands as if it had dawned on him.

The housekeeper elaborated, "Madam, I see, these bird's nests are indeed not the ones you imported from abroad, Madam.

It's the ones the prince and young grandmother brought back the other day, the underlings put them together when they took them down and didn't pay attention when they were stewing, they got mixed up, that's why..." With each additional word, Mrs Matriarch's heart grows a little more surprised and a cold sweat breaks out behind her.

She whispered. She murmured, "How come? Isn't that what Eloise's father sent."

Mrs Matriarch's eyes were filled with disbelief.

Mr Fletcher gazed at his wife, found her pale and asked speculatively.

"Did you think of anything?"

"Nothing, let's be sure later."

Mrs Matriarch waved her hand feebly and dismissed the servants for now.

It's not a good time to talk with so many people.

After the dismay, Mrs Matriarch was lost in thought.

Walking back and forth inside the mansion with a worried look on his face.

After a few moments of hesitation, she couldn't stay and picked up her bag and headed out, "I'm going to the hospital to see Eloise."

Seeing this, Mr Fletcher also got up after his wife and said in a rush, "I'll go with you, I don't feel comfortable with you going on your own." Now that the root of the problem has been identified, there is no need to stay at home.

Grabbing a few things, the two men hustled off to the hospital.

At the hospital, Eloise's consciousness was returning.

Along with the consciousness came the pain and she couldn't help but moan. A cry came out.

The long, curly eyelashes fluttered a few times, and within a moment, the eyes opened.

After looking into the snowy white, there is a momentary release of the head.

Where is this place?

She stared at the ceiling with a little dullness in her eyes.

Aisly heard the noise and rushed over to her, asking softly, "Miss Eloise, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

Eloise shook her head in confusion.

In due course, Rupert emerged from the attending doctor's consultation room.

They bumped into Mr Fletcher and Mrs Matriarch, who were walking and talking, and were now at the door of the ward.

They were delighted to see Eloise awake and walked in.

Mrs Matriarch was the first to sit at the bedside.

"I'm going to call the doctor to come and have a look."

Aisly saw them arrive, locked eyes with Rupert next to her and hurriedly trotted out.

"Eloise, how are you feeling, do you have any stomach discomfort?"

Mrs Matriarch held Eloise's hand and asked nervously.

Belly?

Eloise's heart jerked as she remembered that she had been admitted to the hospital last night because she had fainted because of a stomach ache. She held herself up to the small of her back in horror and instantly felt as if she was about to suffocate.

The baby, her baby!

Seeing Eloise struggling to sit up, Mrs Matriarch scrambled over to help her.

"Ugh, Eloise, you've just woken up, don't move, does it hurt anywhere?"

Not caring about the pain coming from her body, Eloise grabbed Mrs Matriarch's coat and asked in agony, "Mum, the baby, my baby, how is it?" Eloise's voice sounded raspy because she hadn't had any water for a long time.

Eloise's eyes were red, her grip on Mrs Matriarch's hand was shaking, and tears were threatening to fall from the corners of her eyes.

Mrs Matriarch hurriedly took her in her arms, holding her hands back and softly calming her down.

"Eloise, take it easy, the baby's fine, the doctor says he's fine, let's just lie down, take a deep breath and relax."

Rupert was there to help reassure, "Yes, sister-in-law, the little nephew is fine, you don't want to get unborn."
