Love Comes To Me
Chapter 509: Stalked

For several days after this, Catherine did not reappear at the Rogers family.

Eloise slowed down one day, realised this and asked Hector in passing, "Catherine hasn't been around for the last few days yeah, it's a bit weird, has something happened to her?" People who come to visit every day are not used to it when they suddenly stop coming.

Hector didn't even raise an eyebrow as his bony hands moved to remove his tie.

"What's weird about it? It's weird that she comes every day, isn't it?" The tone was light, but Eloise sounded a little grim.

She murmured to herself. murmured, "It must be because you were so mean last time that you scared her."

Hector looked at his simple wife with sadness.

The knot in his throat twitched slightly as he walked quickly over to Eloise and pulled her over to sit on his lap. "I forgot to tell you that Catherine quit the day before yesterday." He spoke slowly, surveying Eloise's expression.

"Why? Hasn't she only been in here a short while?" Eloise was shocked and looked at Hector suspiciously.

"I don't know, I think she probably just came over to the office to hang out and get a taste of the working world, but when she came she decided it wasn't for her and left." Hector started making up the story with his eyes open. He didn't tell Eloise the truth because, given her nature, he couldn't say he'd just take Catherine in.

Such an uncontrollable situation was not something he would allow to exist.

Eloise is half convinced by this statement.

But there wasn't much suspicion; after all, she didn't know Catherine very well either.

"Tomorrow is maternity day, right?"

Seeing that she didn't press the issue, Hector touched the small of Eloise's back and hurriedly digressed.

Eloise lay in his arms, half tilting her head, reaching up to stroke his cold, hard line of jaw and responding with surprise, "That you remember."

She had thought Hector would forget, after all he had been so busy lately.

Often she woke up early in the morning and the covers were empty beside her, with only the residual warmth to tell her that Hector had originally slept next to her.

"Nothing about you or the baby will ever be forgotten." Lowering his head and placing a soft kiss on her forehead, Hector said softly.

He touched her soft skin. With the beauty in his arms, his heart inevitably heated up and his fingertips moved restlessly downwards, tantalising her.

Eloise, who had been overwhelmed with emotion, felt his warm palm wander to the side of her waist and tsked, holding his fidgeting hand in time. "No, we have a check-up tomorrow." She muttered with red cheeks.

Hector eats the pith and draws back his hand resentfully, burying it at her slender neck, his voice dark.

"I know." He was just relieving his cravings too, he didn't want anything.

The tone of voice sounded a little hard and pained.

Eloise touched his face and reassured him earnestly. "It's been hard on you lately, but... holding back hurts, do you want to go take a shower to calm down?" The corner of Hector's mouth twitched slightly as he refused in a hushed voice, "No!"

"You really don't need to lower the fire?" Eloise asked skeptically, holding back a laugh.

The look of gloating was unmistakable.

Hector's lips curled into a meaningful smile and his large palms dragged beneath her knees, picking her up across the room.

"Ah, what are you doing, put me down now..."

The sudden princess hug confused Eloise and, fearing that Solomon might hear, she punched Hector gently.

"I didn't want to make you work too hard, but, seeing as you're smiling so heartlessly, I decided to let you help me in a safe way instead."

Hector smiled wickedly and deliberately emphasized the words "in a different way", which made Eloise's heart flutter.

Intuition told her she wouldn't like the way he said it.

"No, no, no, husband, I was wrong ..."

She whimpered for mercy, but it didn't take long for her voice to be silenced by the lingering kiss...

The following morning, Eloise was, not surprisingly, up late.

The sunlight gently dots the warmth of her long, thick eyelashes.

A soft voice came through her eardrums, "Mummy, it's time to get up."

At the sound of Solomon's voice, Eloise half-opened her hazy sleepy eyes, moved her slightly sore arms and answered in a deep voice, her eyelids fighting and closing again in a moment. Solomon shook her arm to see that she was not awake and had a torn look on his face.

"Solomon, you go ahead and have breakfast."

Hector came out of the bathroom, saw Eloise in bed, curled his lips in amusement and sent Solomon off first.

Refreshed, he walked over to the bed, lifted the covers and forcefully picked Eloise up.

Eloise half-squinted her eyes and found a comfortable position to lean into.

"That tired?" He asked with a light laugh.

Half-asleep, Eloise glared at the culprit, not wanting to speak.

She wrapped her arms lightly around Hector's neck and hung on to him like a sloth, using little strength in her hands and relying on Hector to carry her to the washroom. Because of her bedwetting, it took a while for the family to leave for the hospital for the maternity check-up.

As she had been greeted in advance, Eloise was scheduled for a check-up as soon as she arrived.

The family is gathered around the computer, looking at the film transmitted from the ultrasound.

The top was dark and faintly visible as a small mass curled up against the inner wall of the womb, and Solomon peered curiously at the picture.

"Mummy, where is my sister?"

The doctor smiled and explained for them, "Here it is, here is the head, here is the little hand hand, still holding the fist, and this piece is the foot, can you see it ..."

The family listened attentively, and the more they watched, the more interesting it became.

"The baby is developing well and is healthy, there is nothing wrong with it, usually take care to rest more and not to work too hard, of course, moderate exercise is still necessary."

I don't know if it was a weakness of heart, but Eloise always felt that the doctor's bite was a bit deliberate.

"Yes, we'll be mindful of moderate exercise." Hector lowered his eyes and looked at the shy little petite wife in his arms, laughing lowly and agreeing in a good mood, those eyes reflecting a starry glow. After hearing his words, Eloise blushed and gave him a secret squeeze.

After all the talk from the relationship doctor, this is the one he remembered ...

After the birth, Eloise was still a little concerned about Catherine and had wanted to contact her to come out and talk.

It was only later that she realised that it seemed to be Catherine who came to them every time, and she was a little chagrined that she didn't have Catherine's contact details.

Thinking that next time we meet we must exchange phone numbers.

But for the next few days, Catherine doesn't show up again, and Eloise, with a lot going on between the hospital and home, doesn't dwell on Catherine's sudden disappearance.

Yet bizarre things happened in quick succession after this.

On this day, after visiting Maryam from the hospital, Eloise had just left the hospital door when her afterimage caught a faint white light.

It's as if someone is filming it on the sly.

For the past few days, she had had a vague feeling that someone was following her, always hearing the sound of very soft footsteps behind her, following her pace, sometimes fast and sometimes slow. As she had Marian with her when she went out, she was still confident of her safety and didn't take it very seriously.

However, today this feeling is becoming clearer and clearer.

Her heart chilled, her eyes hooked into a stern gleam as she snapped back and bellowed, "Who!"

Turning her head to see that the view was empty, Eloise tightened her brow fiercely.
