Love Comes To Me
Chapter 542: Throwing Bones to the Ground

Hector just stood there in silence, ignoring the sounds in his ears.

No, it can't be. Eloise must still be alive.

Why is the whole world cursing his Eloise, even his brother has to say that.

Hector straightened his spine, with no expression on his face at all.

Opening his lips, he interrupted Rupert abruptly, "You don't want to save her, I'll replace out for myself."

With that, he took a big step forward.

Rupert was startled.

He's going to replace it? How is he going to replace it? The professional salvage team has already said that in all probability the man is gone. What does he want to do?

Rupert was about to stop his brother when suddenly the man in front of him swayed, as if his whole body had been drained of strength, and his tall body fell to the ground with a crash. "I don't believe it, she'll be fine, she'll be back."

Hector growled in pain, his eyes full of Eloise's every smile.

She was so happy after learning of the pregnancy.

Tell him that their second child is coming, that Solomon is no longer alone and that he will have a brother or sister.

Together they have longed for the child to come.

However, her smiling face was still in sight, but the person was gone.

Suddenly, Hector clenched his hand into a fist and pounded the floor tiles hard, one at a time, as if there was no pain.

The knuckles of those good-looking, slender hands quickly cracked and blood seeped out.

Hector's eyes were red, as if he could not feel the pain.

"Brother!"

Rupert was so distraught that he couldn't help but cry out.

When would the always tough, calm and all-powerful big brother ever look so helpless?

Rupert has always looked up to his big brother, ever since he was a kid.

In the back of my mind, I knew that I could never be that person, even if I tried.

Hector's mind is as precise as an instrument that can never go wrong, cool and collected as a dummy.

He had also suspected that Hector might lack the emotions expected of a human being.

But today... saw a side of him that was out of shape.

Heartache...

Rupert forced himself to hold back his grief and advised, "Brother, calm down, if your sister-in-law knew you were hurting yourself like this, she would be upset." Hector was dumbfounded.

Rupert, who had no choice but to go and take his hand, tried to stop him from continuing to hurt himself.

Just as he was about to touch Hector, the latter suddenly leaned forward and a large mouthful of blood gushed out.

Rupert saw this and froze for a moment, not knowing what to do.

Reacting with fright, he shouted in a heartbreaking voice, "Brother, what's wrong with you?"

Hector's throat was fishy and sweet and his eyes were black for a while.

He could hear Rupert calling him in his ear, but had no strength to speak and knew that something was probably wrong with his body.

For he had not slept a full hour since the news of Eloise's accident.

Today, the body protests.

But he didn't want to be sick, he still had to go to Eloise.

No matter how strong the thoughts are in the mind, the body cannot support them in the end.

Close your eyes and pass out completely.

Rupert immediately reached out to catch him, his whole being a little six-footed.

Because Hector has always been their anchor.

Not daring to delay, Rupert ran straight towards the car, carrying the taller Hector in his arms.

"Brother, brother, wait, we'll go to the hospital right away, nothing must happen to you! If something happens to you, your sister-in-law won't forgive you when she comes back!" Rupert pushes the throttle to the max, sweating all over.

The hand gripping the steering wheel could not help but tremble slightly.

While keeping an eye on Hector, who was lying in the back seat, he muttered, "Brother, just hang on, we'll be at the hospital soon."

But Hector doesn't hear it, it's just Rupert reassuring himself.

On arrival at the hospital, Hector was immediately taken to the emergency room.

Rupert leaned against the wall, his hands dropping helplessly, only to realise that his hands were still shaking.

It's okay, it's going to be okay, he told himself over and over again.

When something happens to Hector, it cannot be hidden from Mr Fletcher and Mrs Matriarch.

The two old men arrived at the hospital an hour later in a hurry, but fortunately Hector had been released from the emergency room and transferred to a ward, except that he was still unconscious. The way he lay on the bed with his eyes closed showed a few rare moments of weakness.

Mrs Matriarch saw this and grabbed Rupert's hand, going crazy with impatience.

"What's going on, what's going on with your brother, why did he faint?"

Hector has always been in good health and has not even had a cold for years.

Things like fainting are even more outrageous.

Rupert wiped his face and said softly, "Don't worry, Mom and Dad, my brother is fine.

"Then why isn't he awake yet?"

Mrs Matriarch was not convinced and Mr Fletcher was full of concern.

Looking at the two old men, Rupert laughed bitterly, "He's so overdrawn that the doctor said to wait until he wakes up on his own, otherwise there's nothing he can do."

Mrs Matriarch's face was sad and her heart sank as she looked at her son's ghastly white face on the hospital bed.

First her daughter-in-law, then her son, this is killing her old bones.

With a sway of her body, Mrs Matriarch fell backwards limply.

"Mum!" Rupert shouted anxiously.

Mr Fletcher helped his wife, settled her in a chair, poured her a glass of water and said in a deep voice, "Don't think too much, your son will be fine." Two days later, Hector finally woke up.

Looking at the person next to the hospital bed, Hector's first words were, "Where's Eloise, did you replace Eloise?"

The Rogers family were all overjoyed to see him awake, but then they all curbed their smiles when they heard the words.

"Hector, you get well first." Mrs Matriarch advised with a forced smile, her eyes revealing exhaustion.

With a clear mind, Hector closed his eyes for a moment.

"Still no luck with the rescue team?" Hector asked weakly.

Rupert said softly, "Well, there's no news, but I've made the call and withdrawn the rescue team."

After all, it is not good to keep occupying public resources.

At these words the glint in Hector's eyes dimmed and he pursed his lips without saying a word.

"Hector, think outside the box, Eloise is gone, let's let her go well and replace her the best grave, you need to stop torturing yourself like this."

Mrs Matriarch cried and took Hector's hand, hoping to put him in perspective, he was really grabbing her heart with this look.

Hearing Mrs Matriarch's words, Hector drew his hand straight back and said coldly, "She's alive, what do you want with a graveyard."

Mrs Matriarch tried to persuade her further, but Mr Fletcher gave her a wink to stop talking and led her out of the ward.

After the duo left, the ward fell into silence.

After a while, seeing Hector's expression return to normal, Rupert asked out loud, "Brother, Mum and Dad are worried about you, they've been watching over you in the ward for the past two days, what are you going to do now?" "Find Agnes! Even if she runs to the ends of the earth, I will replace her and bruise her to death!" Hector said fiercely.
