Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 623: Something Happens
An hour later, the lights in the operating theatre went out and Solomon was wheeled out.
Eloise and Hector hurried up to see Solomon with his eyes tightly shut and the cast on his leg already removed.
Stopping the doctor in his tracks, Hector asked worriedly, "How was it, was the operation a success?"
Taking off his mask, the doctor said reassuringly, "The operation was a success and you will be discharged as soon as you have passed today." At the words, Hector sighed deeply in relief.
When he returned to the ward, he saw Eloise looking at Solomon with a worried expression.
Seeing Hector enter, Eloise rises to her feet and asks, "How's Solomon?"
After patting Eloise on the shoulder and gesturing for her not to worry, she said softly, "There's nothing more wrong, just observe it tonight." At these words Eloise finally put her foot down.
Suddenly realising that his clothes were still on his body, Eloise hurriedly took them off.
Blushing slightly, she looked at Hector and said, "Thank you."
Hector's mouth curled slightly at the sight of her shy face.
She's still the same, she hasn't changed a bit.
Just as the temperature of the air was rising, Eloise's phone rang.
It's the assistant on the phone and Eloise picks up.
"Miss Eloise, there's been a problem with the contract, is it convenient for you to come back?"
"I'm going back now." Eloise said without any hesitation.
After hanging up the phone, she glanced at Solomon on the bed and gave Hector a slightly apologetic look.
"I've got a problem with my company and need to get back as soon as possible, so if there's anything on Solomon's end, just call me."
At that Hector got up and said, "I'll see you off then."
Eloise wanted to refuse, but Hector took her bag directly from the bed, not allowing her to refuse at all.
On arrival at the office, Eloise was immediately put to work.
After sitting in the office for three hours, the problem was finally solved.
Later in the evening, Hector sent her the message that Solomon had woken up.
Eloise was also relieved at last.
Three days passed and Hector's call came again.
With Rowson in the way, Eloise hesitated, but picked up.
"Solomon will be discharged home today and he would like you to have dinner with him tonight, is it convenient for you to come over?"
Hearing the man's voice on the inside of the phone, Rowson immediately came up to Eloise.
After some thought, Eloise declined, "I'd rather not go, I'm busy tonight, you can say sorry to Solomon for me haha."
The phone was on speakerphone and naturally Solomon heard Eloise's words and was a little disoriented.
The two hung up the phone and Hector patted Solomon's shoulder reassuringly, "Mummy's really up to something today, there's always a chance later, let's not push her too hard now, okay?" Although a little reluctant, Solomon nodded knowingly.
What Hector didn't expect, however, was that this later opportunity was getting further and further away.
The next morning, Sweety wanted to go out for cake and Mrs Darlington had no choice but to take her out.
Coming out into the street, Sweety was bouncy and lively.
Mrs Darlington followed her all the way, fearing that something might happen to her.
But the more you worry about something, the more likely it is to happen.
Just as Mrs Darlington bought the cake and was about to take Sweety home, a speeding car came barreling towards the pedestrian crossing.
Mrs Darlington and Sweety were in the middle of the road and had no time to dodge.
Mrs Darlington had to push Sweety aside while she herself was hit by the car.
Only a clang was heard and Mrs Darlington's body was knocked a good distance away.
Passers-by saw that there had been an accident and rushed to call 999.
Sweety still didn't know what was going on and just followed the crowd to the hospital.
When Rowson found out the news, his whole body froze then and there, and Eloise was frozen in place.
It was Mr. Darlington Sr who reacted first and led the duo over.
Without any hesitation, Rowson arrived at the hospital and rushed into the operating theatre to help with the resuscitation.
Eloise then waited outside with Mr. Darlington Sr with Sweety.
The wait was several hours, and the sky outside had changed from the azure blue it had started with to the overcast clouds it was now.
After another moment, the lights in the operating theatre finally went out.
Rowson was seen walking out of it with a dishevelled look on his face and Eloise rushed up to ask how it was going.
"How is Mom? Is it serious?"
Rowson sniffed and shook his head, sitting limply on the floor, his eyes dazed.
"It's not out of life threatening, she's lost so much blood ..."
Rowson slapped himself in the face and chided himself, "What's the point of learning all this stuff when it's not going to come in handy?"
Eloise saw this and took his hand. Rowson's hand was trembling and one could imagine how scared he was.
"It's okay, Mum will be out of danger, don't worry, I'm sure Mum will get through this."
With those words, Eloise took Rowson in her arms and patted him gently on the spine.
Rowson clung to Eloise's hand for solace.
Just inside the operating room, he was really scared.
Eloise just held Rowson and kept comforting him.
After a while, Rowson looked up from Eloise's arms and said in a hoarse voice, "Mom is bleeding internally and needs to be observed in the ICU for three more days, if she wakes up, she'll be out of danger, if she doesn't..." At that, Rowson covered his face in pain, those few words he couldn't really say.
How can someone who is obviously intact in the morning suddenly ...
"Rowson, Mum will be fine, don't scare yourself yet, medical treatment is so advanced now, Mum will definitely wake up, I'm here with you."
With those words, Eloise attached her hand, transferring the warmth to him.
Rowson nodded, at which point Mr. Darlington Sr approached with Sweety.
A few people arrived at the ICU door and Eloise's heart ached as she watched Mrs Darlington in the room covered in tubes.
Reassured by Rowson, Eloise offered to look after Mrs Darlington here herself.
Rowson was going to say he would take care of it himself, but Eloise insisted and he couldn't refuse.
Later in the evening, Rowson went back to get a change of clothes and Mr. Darlington Sr went to the office to take care of business.
At that moment, Eloise's mobile phone rings.
Eloise glanced over and saw that it was Hector's phone.
She subconsciously tried to hang up, but picked up after a moment's thought.
"Eloise, do you have time today?" Hector's cool voice came.
Eloise sniffed and coughed softly, then said, "Something happened to Auntie Fu and I have to look after her over here."
Hector enquired about the hospital they were in and hung up, leaving Eloise puzzled for a moment.
But puzzled as she was, Eloise didn't take this little hiccup to heart.
