Love Comes To Me
Chapter 891: Pulling into our camp

This was to be expected and Hector was not surprised, raising his eyebrows gently and pretending to be surprised, "So it's Mr Pierce, why, is there something wrong?" "How about we have lunch together?"

On hearing this, Hector knew that the fish was about to be hooked.

However, instead of showing eagerness, he said, somewhat apologetically, "I'm so sorry, Mr Pierce, I don't think I'll be able to have lunch. I have an impromptu meeting to attend, which will end at about two o'clock this afternoon, are you available after two?"

In fact, the company does not usually schedule meetings during the lunch break.

He just wanted to hang Pierce out for a while.

"Mr Hector, I wanted to talk to you about our cooperation, I really didn't expect you to be so busy even for a herb dealer."

Pierce was a little upset to see him pushing the time, but agreed, "Never mind, two o'clock is two o'clock."

"Then I'll trouble Mr Pierce to wait a little longer."

After the call hung up, Pierce on the other end of the line couldn't help but clench his palms.

In the past, every collaboration was a case of someone else catching up with him, and this was the first time that he had to wait for a situation like this.

Aaron, the assistant, could see Pierce's displeasure and spoke up, "Mr Pierce, do we really have to wait?"

Pierce said seriously, "Wait, this order is especially important for us, we can't afford any mistakes, you go down and get ready."

Aaron went down and ordered a cafe and sent the address to Hector.

--

At 2 p. m., Hector made his way unhurriedly to the address Pierce had sent.

Upon seeing Pierce, he said with a little apology, "Sorry, Mr Pierce, there was some traffic."

Pierce smiled and waved his hand, "Mr Hector doesn't have to blame himself, but Mr Hector seems to be very busy lately, has he taken on any big orders?"

Hector took a slow sip of his coffee and smiled lightly, "Not really, business is going on as usual. what did Mr Pierce want to see me about today?"

At that, Pierce didn't beat around the bush, "Since Mr Hector brought it up, I won't beat around the bush. You said last night that you had other herbs of a similar nature to the western aconite, and I need a pint of red and strychnine, I wonder if you could supply them in large quantities?"

A pint of red and strychnine are two more highly poisonous substances.

Hector narrowed his eyes at once, acquiring toxic herbs in large quantities for predictable purposes.

All three herbs have medical value, but knowing the SA Group, Hector wouldn't have thought they were going to be used to save lives.

Hector's brow furrowed slightly, pretending to be unable to do so, "Mr Pierce, I'm not going to lie, the herb is available, but not all the time, it takes time to acquire it and to provide it.

Plus, both herbs are highly poisonous, so when they are sold, there is bound to be some trouble."

Seeing Hector's difficult face, Pierce had an understanding look, "I know everything Mr Hector said, so I've come here to work with you this time with goodwill."

Pierce paused for a moment before taking out a cheque and placing it on the table, "This is $50 million, just an advance payment, after the job is done, you will not be treated badly."

He was quite sure that Hector would take it, as businessmen like them don't mess around with money.

However, to his surprise, Hector only glanced at it lightly and then averted his gaze, which surprised him greatly.

"Mr Hector, I heard from Farabee that you are one of the few major herb dealers in the country, with herbs sourced from all over the world, it should not be difficult for you to get any herbs you want, so I hope we can work well together this time." With those words, Pierce pushed the cheque forward a little more.

Hector smiled, with a slight playfulness in his eyes, and didn't just take the cheque or even give an extra look over.

He looked to Pierce, "To cooperate, it's not impossible. However, I have a request, you need these two herbs in such large quantities, as well as the western aconite, you have to tell me what you are doing and exactly what you are using them for. I have a family, a wife and children, I won't ask for trouble and would rather make less."

Hector paused and added in a firm tone, "Otherwise, I would not have provided you with the herbs."

Aaron saw this and passed a look to the bodyguard beside him.

Hector was immediately surrounded by four strong men.

However, he didn't even frown, remaining calm and collected.

After a moment of confrontation, Pierce said sternly: "How dare you! Since when do you get to be the boss here? Get out of my sight!"

After berating the bouncer, Pierce smiled and looked at Hector, trying to convince him.

"Mr Hector, please rest assured about the whereabouts of the herbs, our SA Group has always acted in an open and honest manner and will never do anything behind the scenes.

What's more, as we are a large pharmaceutical group, we are bound to have a large demand for certain herbs, like the ones you can provide are just a few of them."

Hector smiled lightly, "We all understand, you don't have to play sloppy with me."

He said, standing up, "Since Mr Pierce is not sincere, I'm sorry, we can't do this deal, goodbye."

Seeing Hector leaving, Pierce became anxious.

He had thought that Hector was an ordinary small businessman, and that he would be happy to offer tens of millions of dollars.

Who ever thought that it was useless, Hector didn't even look at it.

If softness doesn't work, then hardness will. So just now Aaron asked his bodyguard to come up and scare him.

Surprisingly, it didn't work either.

It was the first time he had met someone who was soft and hard.

"Mr Hector, please stay!"

Pierce stepped in front of Hector and said with some difficulty, "Mr Hector, wait a moment, I will ask my superiors and give you an answer immediately."

"Okay, I'll wait for your reply."

Hector nodded and resumed his seat.

Pierce sought a secluded spot and dialled the number.

"Boss, there's a problem here, the partner wants to know what we're using to purchase large quantities of herbs, can we tell him about these? If we don't tell him, he might not work with us."

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a few seconds, an icy one came out, "He can tell us what he wants to know, but only if he is brought into our fold, we don't need a transient partner, but someone who will provide an unlimited supply of poisonous herbs in the long run, got it?"

"Okay boss, I got it, I'll go tell him." Pierce responded.
