Love Comes To Me
Chapter 914: You're so thin-skinned

"They can't detect that I'm behind this, so you'll have to reveal a bit of your identity."

Hector pondered for a moment before speaking slowly.

"I have to reveal a bit of my identity?!"

Killers couldn't contain it any longer and jumped up like a cat with fried hair, "Hector, even though I was going to take things upon myself, it's cold and heartless of you to be so dry and active and let me take the blame!" She gasped and laughed, staring at him incredulously.

Considering how much she had done for him, not asking for gratitude, but there was no need to be so heartless?

Compared to her excitement, Hector was calm, he poured a glass of red wine and took a light sip, his eyelids flicked up to look at her, the corners of his lips curled up seemingly, "What's the point of taking the blame, you yourself are looking for them to avenge your men, aren't you?"

"I ..." Killers was tempted to retort, but he was telling the truth and finally had to give in.

Hector continued, "So I just want the hate to be focused or it will interfere with my subsequent plans."

"You're so thin-skinned." Killers grunted as he controlled his desire to curse.

Previously, she only thought he was cold, but through this incident, she felt deeply that she had never seen such a sophisticated and cunning person like him in her life.

She was the head of the Gothamless Sect, and she was being played with like this in front of his eyes.

The more Killers thought about it, the angrier she became, and she took a deep breath, her beautiful eyes filled with anger.

If Hector hadn't saved her life back then, she could chop him up on the spot right now.

As if he didn't notice her anger, Hector sipped his wine with aplomb.

It was this same bemused posture that made Killers hate it even more.

"I'm out of here!"

Killers felt like his lungs would explode if he stayed any longer.

Thomas was standing in the doorway and almost collided with an enraged Killers.

He hurriedly moved to the side and watched Killers leave with a million sympathies.

Only after the people had left did Thomas walk over to Hector.

"Is there anything I can do, Prince?" Thomas asked.

Hector glanced up at him and shook his head gently, "No."

"But..." Thomas was worried that someone from the SA group might actually suspect him.

"It's fine."

Hector is confident that with Killers' abilities he will sort this out.

...

Early the next morning, with Hector still asleep, Thomas pushed open the door to his room and hurried in. Hector opened his eyes alertly and frowned slightly after seeing it was Thomas, "What's wrong?"

Thomas' face was not very pleasant as he whispered, "Mr John is here."

At that, Hector laughed, "That came pretty quickly."

John and the others had been expected to come, so Hector wasn't surprised.

He got up slowly and methodically to wash up.

Seeing this, Thomas turned and walked out.

"Is Mr Hector up yet?"

John, who was waiting in the living room, saw Thomas come out and immediately raised his voice to ask. Thomas did not answer directly but said, "Please wait a moment for Mr John, Mr Hector will be here shortly." "Good."

Although anxious, John could only wait patiently.

It took about ten minutes or so before Hector came out of the room in slow motion.

Hector's eyes flickered at the sight of John sitting in the living room, but returned to their usual calm and unruffled state in an instant. "Mr John, good morning." He walked over.

"Good morning, Mr Hector."

John stood up and smiled at him, but it was very much a forced smile.

How could he really laugh after what had happened last night.

"Please sit down."

Hector raised his hand to indicate that he should sit down, then turned to Thomas and said, "Make Mr John a cup of coffee." "No." John refused in a hurry.

But Thomas turned away to prepare the coffee as if he hadn't heard.

Looking at Thomas' back, John suddenly commented out loud, "Mr Hector, your assistant has a lot of character."

Hector nodded noncommittally.

John pretended not to look around, and although his face was unmoved, the shimmer in his eyes was caught by Hector. The latter raised his eyebrows faintly.

"Did you sleep well last night Mr Hector," John said as he withdrew his eyes and looked at Hector seriously.

Hector gave a faint smile, "Good sleep, dragging your luck."

"That's fine." John nodded.

"Mr John, your coffee."

Thomas came over and placed the brewed coffee in front of John.

John gave him a look, "Thanks."

"You're welcome."

Thomas walked back to stand behind Hector.

John took a sip from his coffee, he was silent for a moment and then suddenly his face sank and his eyes sharpened.

Noticing his change, Thomas stared at him defensively.

"Mr Hector," John said as he heaved his coffee onto the table.

Hector was bewildered, "Mr John, what's going on?"

"There was a fire in the warehouse."

John almost squeezed the words out through clenched teeth.

The thought of those burnt herbs made his liver ache with anger.

"Fire?" Hector's brow furrowed in alarm at once.

Seeing how shocked he was, John couldn't help but tighten his brow, "Yes, the fire."

"How did this happen?" Hector's handsome face had worry written all over it, "So ... are those herbs okay?"

"The herbs... were all burned."

John narrowed his eyes, his hawk-like eyes staring straight at Hector, as if he was trying to read something on his face.

"It's all burnt up?" Hector turned his head in shock and locked eyes with Thomas, "What the hell is going on here? How could there be a sudden fire?"

"The police say it was a malicious arson."

"Who is it?" Hector pursued.

"Still checking."

Hector knew exactly what was going on, but he still acted very angry, "This man is too much, he must be caught!"

John stared at him for a moment, trying to see if he was sincere or pretending.

I don't know if he was just acting too well or if he was really angry and didn't see anything wrong with it.

Under John's gaze, Hector turned to Thomas and said, "You help Mr John investigate this and make sure you replace the person who set the fire as soon as possible." Thomas nodded, "Yes."

"Mr Hector, no." John declined his offer of help, "I have people on my side already looking into it."

Hector said sincerely, "One more person to help is not a bad thing, and he's good."

"Mr Hector's men are certainly no less capable, but they really aren't needed." Again John refused.

This time Hector didn't insist and simply nodded, "That's fine, if there's anything you need to do, just ask." "Good."

John was silent for a moment before speaking, "Mr Hector, I actually came to tell you more than just this..." He deliberately didn't put words into his mouth, his eyes still fixed straight on Hector.

It is so strange what has happened in the past two days, from the loss of medicines to the burning of herbs. Coincidentally this all happened after the arrival of this Mr Hector.

Seeing his suspicion, Hector's face remained unchanged as he calmly locked eyes with him. John continued, "Mr Hector, our company's research facility was also burgled two days ago."
