Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 916: A mole?
"Prince, shall we send her away?"
Hector looked back at Thomas, who had followed him in, and shook his head, "No need."
"But Mr John is spying on you and I'm afraid that's not right." Thomas was worried that this would be a problem if anything went wrong.
"There's nothing wrong with that. Even without this secretary, he would have sent someone to keep an eye on us."
After all, John was suspecting him, and after sending the secretary away, there would be others.
How about not wasting your time.
"You don't have to follow today, keep an eye on the SA Group side for me."
Thomas nodded, "Good."
Hector changed and walked out of the room, his eyes falling on Joey as he asked lightly, "What are the places to visit in Italy? Why don't you show me around?" "Good." Joey nodded.
"Prince..." Thomas said, uneasy about him going out alone.
Hector smiled at him meaningfully, "How could I fail in Mr John's good intentions?"
Thomas understood what he meant and said nothing more, watching him and Joey leave one after the other.
"I wonder what Mr Hector's usual preferences are?" Joey looked sideways at the tall, handsome man beside him and spoke with a smile.
"Not much of a preference."
Hector responded nonchalantly, with a cold look.
Having hit a cold nail, the smile on Joey's face froze for a moment, but he quickly recovered, "In that case, I'll be making the next arrangements."
So, the day was spent with Hector being guided by Joey around a few popular tourist attractions.
Joey was the one who spoke all the way, acting cold and indifferent, unable to tell whether he was happy or not.
Joey didn't care either, her most important task was to monitor his every move, so nothing else mattered.
In the afternoon, Joey took Hector to a famous shopping mall.
"Mr Hector, Mr John explained that if you like something, buy it and he will pay for it."
"Thank you Mr John then."
Hector hadn't planned to buy anything but was struck by the sight of a little girl's princess dress hanging in one of the windows; he didn't seem to have bought any clothes for his children. Surprised to see him walk into the children's clothing shop, Joey rushed to follow him.
"Mr Hector, you are..."
"Bought for a friend's child."
A simple statement blocked Joey's intention to continue with further questions.
Joey didn't doubt it and said enthusiastically, "I'll help you pick it out then."
Hector was about to say no, but thinking that as she was a woman she might have a better eye than she did, she briefly told her about the two children and asked her to help her choose. Joey picked it out and showed it to Hector, who nodded in satisfaction.
As she was about to swipe her card to pay, Hector stopped her, "No, I'll do it myself."
It was something he was going to buy for his children and didn't want anyone else to pay for it.
"It's okay, it's Mr John's idea."
Joey was very insistent.
But Hector was more insistent and in the end Joey couldn't resist him and had to give up.
Hector carried his shopping bags, his taut, cold face softening for a rare moment throughout the day.
He can't wait to fly back home now and put his two children in the clothes he bought.
It must be very nice and beautiful.
Joey couldn't read his mind, he just could feel as if he was in a good mood.
So she suggested, "Mr Hector, it's almost dinner time, I know a good restaurant, I'll take you there."
"No need." Hector refused, "I'll go straight back to the hotel."
Joey obviously didn't expect him to refuse and froze, but quickly responded with a smile, "I'll take you back to the hotel then." "Good."
Back at the hotel, walking down the corridor back to his room, Hector suddenly stopped in his tracks.
Joey followed suit and stopped, asking curiously, "Mr Hector, what's wrong?"
Hector turned and looked at her with a cool gaze, "I've bothered you all day today, please say thank you to Mr John for me." Joey was a smart man and heard the underlying meaning of his words.
This was to get her to leave.
She smiled and asked, as if jokingly, "Is Mr Hector not even going to let me have a dinner?"
Hector raised an eyebrow, "There's a restaurant downstairs, make yourself at home."
With that said, Hector turned and continued on his way.
Joey didn't want to leave just like that and hurried to follow.
Walking to the door of the room, Hector suddenly turned back with a cold face, startling Joey.
"Secretary Joey, I'm tired after a long day of shopping and want to get some rest."
When he said that, Joey couldn't follow him any further, so he smiled and said, "Okay, I'll leave you alone then."
"No more deliveries."
Hector watched her leave before opening the door and entering the room.
Thomas rushed over to the door as soon as he heard it open and let out a huge sigh of relief as soon as he saw Hector enter.
He then noticed that Hector was alone and asked in wonder, "Where's the secretary?"
"Go back."
"It's good to get back." Thomas felt relieved all of a sudden.
"Any movement from the SA Group?"
Hector asks as he removes his suit jacket.
"Nothing's moving."
"Keep your eyes on it."
Thomas nodded, "Good."
...
The theft of medicines and the burning of herbs was not a small blow to the SA Group.
But more importantly for John was not knowing what to do with the Bergerian.
Yes, they are supplying the Bergerian with drugs this time.
Both drugs and herbs are at stake in the research that follows.
Bergerian would never have let him off the hook if he knew he hadn't got it right.
Damn!
John walked around the office in an annoyed manner.
Pierce, whose head was spinning, could only speak stiffly, "Mr John, I have increased the security of the research labs as you instructed, so that not even a fly can enter in future." "There's no use in the future!" John snapped, glaring back at him, "What's important now is what to tell Bergerian."
He was the one who clearly said he wanted more security, and he was just following orders, so how could he still be scolded?
Pierce pushed down her resentment and suggested, "Why don't we explain the situation to Bergerian as it is, I don't think he'll give us a hard time."
John sneered, looking at him with disdain, "Do you know Bergerian well?"
"No." Pierce bowed her head.
"I'm telling you, with Bergerian's temperament, the moment he replaces out about this, it won't be easy for not only me, but you as well."
"What about?" Pierce looked terrified.
"Piece of shit!" John spat, then said, "If you don't want to die, investigate the matter quickly, if this has nothing to do with Mr Hector, it's a mole in our group." "An inside job?" Pierce was amazed.
"Not only is there a mole, but he knows his way around the research lab."
Pierce thought about it, "You're right, the other side must know our research labs like the back of their hand, or they couldn't have stolen the drugs so easily." "Now that you know, why don't you go and check it out!" John bellowed sternly.
Pierce was slightly stunned, then reacted and said busily, "Yes, I'll look into it right away."
With that said, he turned and hurried away.
Watching him leave, John couldn't help but curse, "Waste is waste!"
