Love Comes To Me
Chapter 921: Eloise will die

Seeing his self-condemnation, Eloise couldn't help but feel a little guilty, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have kept it from you."

Her intention was not to make him worry, but in the end she made him blame himself instead.

There is a sense of good intentions gone awry.

"I don't blame you."

Hector caressed her cheek, a pair of good-looking sword brows knitted together, "You've lost weight."

At that, Eloise's eyes widened in slight surprise, "Did you?"

She didn't even notice it herself.

"Hmm."

She had lost a whole lot of weight compared to before she left the country, the flesh was gone from her cheeks and her whole body looked haggard. Hector's grip on her hand tightened involuntarily as he blamed himself and became irritated.

Eloise sensed it and smiled helplessly when she saw that his brow was knotted.

She lifted her hand and gently stroked it across his brow, smoothing his furrowed brow.

"You're ugly with a frown." She said in a joking tone, trying to lighten the somewhat depressing and heavy atmosphere.

She really hated to see him beating himself up so much.

Seeing her smile as bright as ever, Hector's eyes warmed slightly and he grabbed her hand and put it to his lips and kissed it gently.

"Don't you blame yourself, okay?" Eloise asked softly, her beautiful eyes heavy with a thin layer of mist.

Hector said, "Hmmm," "How's your body feeling?"

"I feel better after a good night's sleep." Eloise said with a smile.

She was actually still a little tired, but within the limits of what she could handle.

"Don't lie to me."

She still looked bad and not as much better as she said she was.

Eloise smiled helplessly, "I'm not lying, it's really better."

With that, she tried to sit up.

But as soon as the man moved, his head pounded and he fell back into bed.

"Eloise!" cried Hector nervously.

"I'm fine."

Eloise eased over and curled her lips to give him a reassuring smile.

"You lie down and talk to me if you want anything." Hector said.

"I just want to get up and walk around, my back is sore from lying down all the time."

Eloise rubbed her rear end, her shapely brow furrowed slightly.

"I'll hold you up."

Hector helped her around the room and then lay back on the bed.

"Go to sleep if you're tired, I'll stay with you."

Hector tucked her in and spoke to her gently.

"Good."

Eloise was really tired and fell asleep not long after.

Hector switches off the lights, leaving only one wall lamp on, and walks gingerly out.

Almeida and Sener saw him come out and the two immediately lifted their spirits and bowed their heads respectfully, "Prince."

"Say, what the hell is going on?" Hector stepped in front of them, his sharp gaze fixed on them.

Almeida and Sener looked at each other before speaking, "Miss Eloise suddenly developed red spots on her body a few days ago and after Sener and I checked it was due to an adverse reaction caused by the suppressant medication ..." Hector didn't think there was such a thing, and immediately his face was as gloomy as ink, "So if I hadn't come back, would you have had to keep it from me?" "Prince, we dare not disobey Miss Eloise."

Although they are under Hector's orders, Eloise is the one person their prince cares about most, so between the prince and Miss Eloise, they choose Miss Eloise.

It was indeed at Eloise's behest, so Hector couldn't blame the two of them, but could only sternly say, "Let me know the first thing that happens in future." "Understood."

Almeida and Sener responded in unison.

A brief silence fell around the room and then Hector's voice rang out again, "How is she?"

"It will be recurring for a while because Miss Eloise has poor body resistance, but the virus is still under control for now."

Hector frowned, "Is there any way to fix it?"

He couldn't bear to see Eloise so haggard, as if the wind would blow and she would collapse.

"All we can do at the moment is to keep her rested, in a cheerful mood and most importantly not to get tired." Almeida said.

Sener beside him hesitated, then spoke, "Prince, it's not life-threatening yet, but it's not a good idea to continue like this, Miss Eloise's body won't hold up."

At those words, Hector's heart instantly clenched into a ball and his whole face looked bad.

Almeida and Sener are also keen to tackle the virus in Eloise's body as soon as possible, but with the current situation, they have not been able to work out a targeted drug.

Hector was silent for a long time before asking, "Have you studied the germs sent back from Italy?"

At the mention of this, both Almeida and Sener's eyes lit up and they both looked a little excited.

"The results are in." Sener said eagerly, "The drug is indeed the virus in Miss Eloise's body, but only a component of it."

"And can an antidote be researched for it?" Hector asked.

If so, is there a way to solve the virus in Eloise's body.

"Yes."

At these words, a glimmer of hope rose in Hector's heart, but the next moment he heard Almeida say, "But the antidote that has been researched can only cure this part of the virus, the rest is still beyond our reach." "That's right." Sener agreed, "It's easy to research an antidote, but ultimately it's not the full cure for the virus."

Speaking of which, Sener couldn't help but curse, "That Bergerian doesn't know what he wants to do, to research such a terrible virus."

Bergerian.

Hector narrowed his eyes and the hands that fell to his side clenched into fists.

That man has eyes only for profit and doesn't care if the virus research will harm people.

Both Almeida and Sener sensed the anger from Hector and neither said anything more.

Hector slowly released his hand and his thin lips parted lightly, "The research continues, let me know if there's anything."

"Good." Almeida nodded.

"Why don't we tell the prince." Sener whispered.

Almeida turned her head and looked at her with some hesitation.

Hector's brow furrowed slightly as he heard Sener's words, "Is there something you're not telling me?"

"Prince, Almeida and I have a bold assumption." Sener was truthful.

"Say."

"The germs you sent back from Italy, after our research, we think it's highly likely that they were researched to target human genes, or the brain, or various functions of the body.

If you are lucky, you will still be alive, but your body will be eaten away by the virus until you die. If you are unlucky, you will simply die."

Since contracting the virus through Eloise, Hector could already tell how horrible it was, but now that he had heard Sener's words, he couldn't help but feel a tingle on his scalp. The virus is far more frightening than they thought it would be.

"So... what happened to ... Eloise," Hector found his voice surprisingly hard, his throat feeling like it was clogged with a water-absorbing sponge.

This is what he has always feared.

"Miss Eloise belongs to the lucky ones." Almeida just said so.

All three of them knew in their hearts that without the antidote again, Eloise would die.
