Love Comes To Me
Chapter 922: The fear of life

The atmosphere was heavy and no one spoke.

Some time passed before Hector took the lead, "What can be done to restore Eloise's health at the moment?"

As Almeida opened her mouth to answer, he added, "Is there any medication that can boost her resistance, other than the things you said earlier that you should be aware of?" "We're already working on it, so let's wait another two days." Almeida said.

"As soon as possible."

With those words, Hector turned to leave.

Both Almeida and Sener sighed with relief as they watched him leave.

"I feel like I'm suffocating." Sener couldn't help but spit out, really because Hector's aura was so powerful.

"Same."

Almeida bristled, then he looked towards the room where Eloise was resting with a worried look on his face, "We need to speed up or Miss Eloise's life could really be in danger."

Upon hearing this, Sener's expression straightened and became serious as well, nodding heavily, "Yes, I understand."

Hector did not leave the Institute, but went outside for some air.

Just the thought of Eloise's worsening situation was like a big stone weighing down on his heart, leaving him breathless.

"With luck, you'll still be alive, but your body will continue to be eaten away by the virus until you die."

Almeida's words echoed in his head and Hector clenched his fists, his dark eyes narrowing with a glare.

If Bergerian were in front of him right now, he wouldn't hesitate to get him killed.

He'll never let Bergerian go!

...

All night long her son and daughter-in-law have not returned home, and Hector's mother is increasingly sure that she is right in her insecurities. "Rupert, you call your brother."

Rupert, who was watching a TV series with his wife, looked back at his mother and smiled helplessly, "Mum, my brother is only coming back from a few days' business trip, so you should leave the young couple alone." "What are you thinking?" Hector's mother slapped him on the side of the head, "I was thinking that your brother was hiding something from me and I was upset."

"What is it?" Rupert didn't think anything of it, just assumed his mother was overthinking it.

"Your brother was particularly nervous as soon as he came back today and couldn't replace Eloise, and then he rushed out afterwards, so something must have happened."

"Mum, you're just overthinking it, it's okay." Rupert patted his mother's hand soothingly.

Aisly at her side echoed, "Yes, Mum, brother and sister-in-law are fine."

"Let's hope so."

Hector's mother sighed and turned to go upstairs, but turned back after a few steps.

"Rupert, just make a phone call for Mum."

She was still unsure.

Rupert slumped his shoulders and nodded quite helplessly, "Fine."

Hector was in the room with Eloise when the phone rang.

Afraid of waking Eloise, he took his phone to the balcony.

As soon as he picked up, Rupert's voice came through, "Brother, when are you guys coming home?" "Not sure."

Eloise is still awake and won't be able to return for a while.

Just then, the phone was answered by someone else on the other side.

"Hector, is there something wrong with you guys?" Hectorâ€TMs motherâ€TMs voice was full of worry.

Hector didn't deny it, "Mom, I'll tell you when I get back, you get an early night."

Upon hearing this, Hector's mother became anxious, "How can Mom sleep if you don't make it clear?"

Just then, a voice came, "Hector."

It's Eloise's voice.

Hector, unable to talk to his mother on the phone, rushed into the room only to see Eloise awake, this time sitting up on her own.

Eloise saw the phone in his hand and asked, "Interrupting you?"

"No." Hector shook his head as he reached out and touched her face, asking softly, "How does it feel?"

Eloise smiled faintly, "Much better."

After another sleep, she was indeed much better than before.

Hector stared at her intently, as if to see something in her face.

Eloise read his mind and smiled a helpless smile, "Don't worry, I'm not lying to you this time, I'm telling the truth."

She did look a little better and had the strength to speak.

Hector's mother on the other side of the phone overheard their conversation and felt something was wrong and asked out loud, "Hector, is Eloise all right?" Hector's mother's voice came through the handset and Eloise heard it.

She raised her eyebrows in surprise and asked wordlessly, "Is it Mom?"

Hector nodded, then picked up the phone and put it to his ear, "Mom, we'll talk about it when we get back."

When he finished, he hung up the phone, no matter how much Hector's mother pressed him on the other side.

Eloise bit her lip, "Mum knows about my situation?"

"I don't know."

"That's good." Eloise breathed a sigh of relief.

She didn't really want to worry her family, so-

"Then you mustn't tell them the truth." Eloise said, grabbing Hector by the sleeve of his shirt.

She knew he would understand how she felt.

"Good."

Hector smoothed her hair and whispered, "Let's go home."

Eloise nodded, "Hmm."

...

Hector's mother looked bad when the phone hung up and she turned to Rupert and Aisly, "I heard Hector and Eloise talking, they must be hiding something from us." Rupert squeezed her shoulders and said soothingly, "Mum, don't think about it yourself for a while, aren't brother and sister-in-law coming back? What's going on will be clear when they return." "You're right." Hector's mother nodded, "What if something bad happens to you guys, then what?"

At that, Aisly burst out laughing, "Mom, you are really overthinking it, sister-in-law and brother are fine."

Hector's mother, of course, hoped that she was just imagining things and that nothing was wrong with her eldest son and daughter-in-law, but she was just very upset.

After about half an hour or so, with Hector's mother waiting eagerly for them, Hector and Eloise finally made it home.

"Eloise, are you all right?" Hector's mother rushed to meet her, grabbing Eloise's hands and asking anxiously.

"What is it?" Eloise turned her head to look at Hector with a bewildered expression.

Hector smiled at her and then said to Hector's mother, "Mum, Eloise is fine, she's just a bit unwell."

"Not feeling well?" Hector's mother rushed up and down to check on Eloise, "What's wrong? Should I call the family doctor?"

Looking at Hector's mother's nervousness, Eloise felt that she had made the right decision in choosing to hide the truth.

"Mom, I'm fine." Eloise held Hector's mother's hands back, a smile piled on her clear little face, "I just... ate the wrong thing and had an upset stomach."

"Gutted ...," Hector's mother nodded half-heartedly, but it didn't look like Eloise was lying by the way she looked frankly.

So Hector's mother believed it.

"Tomorrow I'll have the kitchen prepare food for your stomach and give you a good feed." Hector's mother said.

Eloise smiled, "Thanks Mum."

"Sister-in-law, you don't even know how worried mum is about you and brother." Rupert looked at his mother helplessly, he couldn't even watch a TV show with his daughter-in-law in peace if he wanted to. "Go go go, go watch your TV show."

Hector's mother gave him a stern look, much to the amusement of the others.
